I'm the same age as Bobby. We stopped work on a building site in Dublin and marched into the city centre in silence to meet up with building workers from all over Dublin on the day that Bobby Sands died. We marched to show our support for the cause that he gave his life for, our historic cause to remove British imperialism from our country. It was my birthday, and when I came home my wife asked me; am I all right? I broke down and cried. I'll always remember that day, and I'm reminded of it now listening to the wonderful singing of Bobby's granddaughter, with great sadness but with my greatest respect for our courageous patriots.
Un commosso abbraccio dall' Italia caro fratello . Verrà il tempo che il feroce imperialismo angloamericano paghera cari I propri crimini contro i popoli...
I'm 12 years younger than you, just a snotty lad at the time, and not even Irish, I'm a Dane. I remember the 10 patriots who died for their country. It was covered daily in our version of the Beep. RIP H-block Patriots!
my mother was related to michael o'hanrahan, we lit a candle for bobby sands and prayed for his welfare during those tense days every night, his grand-daughter, Erin Sands, is greatly appreciated and possesses tremendous 'aesthetics'.... God's blessings on the Sands' family and especially on Erin, her voice and her self are both beautiful.....!
As a Protestant I see all of us as lambs of god, rest in peace to all who died in that conflict,we should never forget the past so it doesn’t happen again.
@@Robert-uy1gd evil will prevail if good people do nothing the ira killed there own so the British defend the innocent from harm, yes I no Bloody Sunday but in the Geneva Convention you can’t fire unless fired up
As an Englishman I have a huge sense of guilt and fully respect your desire to be your own country and rightly so! All I can say is sorry for what my own country has done
@@barry2142003 Same sentiments, the English working class, as all often are, were/are just useful idiots. My previous nationalistic pride is now an embarrassment. Respect to the Irish, great people. KTF!
He didn't fight for equality. He fought to end oppression. We still don't have equality. Our housing, jobs and resources are eing handed to parasitic foreigners. We must fight to keep Ireland out of the hands of foreigners.
I was marching with my dad and brothers, along with my dad's best friend and hundreds of others on Boston Common in Massachusetts on the day Bobby Sands died. I had a wallet that was hand made in Long Kesh prison (The Maze) that I would KILL to still have today. It was stolen when I was just 21 years old and it feels like I lost a piece of history.
Erin, beautifully sung! I’m sure your grandfather, and all your family are proud of your strength and courage to sing this song! Will always remember your strong and courageous grandfather. 🙏🏻 ❤ from Coronado, CA USA
stunning song great rendition I'm an English man the past is painful obviously and its right to honour hero's where ever your from I wish this world was a much better place, history tell us there will always be division but would it not be wonderful if we could all get along, x I will try my best
Bobby Sands was a warrior bard and a hero. Grace and Joseph Mary Plunkett were heroes too. Be proud of your grandfather! This is a wonderful tribute. And I'm not even Irish, I'm Croatian.
"Grace" - Beautifully sung by Erin, Bobby Sands grand-daughter, who would have been very proud of her. It's just beautiful and a very moving song... God bless Erin & Damien!!
For me among the best renditions I've ever heard so far. Robert from Rosenheim, Bavaria. And: Bobby Sands, may you rest in peace in an Irish Heaven. I am 71 years old now, I hope when I am dead, I can visit you (from Bavarian Heaven) and drink a bottle of Guiness with you. But it will take some time, I don't know how long my purgatory time will be.
Thank you, We will never forget Bobb Sands and all the Irish who faught for their homeland. I feel like being somewhere there. My love fron Athens Greece.
What great singer the sacrifice of her grandfather bobby sands shall never be forgotten as he was 1 of irelands bravest freedom fighters and may he rest in peace he would be very proud of this rendition of grace
@@Minime163 You´re absolutely right, I´ve read widely on it. If you come to the Basque Country, you´ll notice that the Basques and Irish have very similar looks. Such a close genetic connection going back 8 to 10,000 years ago. Aupa!
Bobby Sands is A HERO OF FREE IRELAND 🇮🇪. My highest respect Roshant Weerasinghe Son of Herbert Weerasinghe Former Inspector General of Sri Lanka police and Delini Weerasinghe Former commissioner of Examinations Department of Examinations Sri Lanka
Bobby and my grandfather were very close friends especially when he lived in twinbrook i still jave photos of them in my grandads house. My mum would run to his him and let him know his house was being raided.
What a great version sang by a real irish girl who was released too a complete and utterly hero i still remember the day Bobby died I was very young just remember all the women crying , and we lived very far from the North in southern Ireland but even as kids we knew a great man had passed.
You know, as much as I love Jim McCann's rendition of "Grace", I think Erin's is just as good. Erin, your Granda Bobby will be looking down on you from Heaven and smiling that broad grin of his every time you sing.
A song about a 1916 Hero , sung by the granddaughter of a hero from 1981 , none of these Heroes will ever be forgotten..and ..our revenge will be the laughter of our children 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪 Tiocfaidh ar la
@@alandavidson4725 funny, not too many streets are named all over the world about people in your description... obviously lots of people disagree with you
I too, remember Bobby Sands. I'm in the US. He instilled in my heart, soul and spirit, that Freedom is a God given right every person on this earth should have and be willing to fight for it. God Himself only gave mankind Laws that have to do with 1. Putting Him first, after all He is our Father and lifegiver, and 2. Respect others doing no harm to your fellow man. And That's It! This song stirs my mind to remember just how precious being Free is. God be with you all.
God bless Grace Gifford and Joseph Mary plunket!! Grace never remarried and died with two other older women in Dublin, two absolute legends in Irish history !!
Erin you sang this song beautiful and from your hearth, Great tribute to Grace and Joseph /Plunket and your Grandad Bobby too God Bless ,Best Wishes From Dublin.
Greetings from Scotland/Scotia there was a time in the 1st century when Ireland was called Scotia and now from Scotland we should unite, after all were cousins long before there was an Ireland or Scotland ❤❤❤❤
