So I watched your other repacking video, repacked my 650 and a gallon later it was making high pitched rubbing noises as pump was running. Took it to a shop and they diagnosed my sleeve was bad too !! Because of marginally bad sleeve my brand new packing’s came loose and had to install new ones 🤣 AND replace the sleeve.. damn it Graco why did you design pump w 2 moving parts now the sleeve and the packings wear at the same time !

Yeah, that's why I stress checking out the interior of the sleeve during repack.

Hi I have a question I have a 4400 psi 4gpm dewalt pressure washer with a aaa triplex pump on in, is there any way currently I can optimize the pump or add a bypass or do I need to change the unloader it has for a new one with a bypass port? Thank you.

Without the exact model number for the pump, this is difficult to answer. I will say this, if your unloader is bolted on with 2 bolts like you see in my other videos, then yes, you can replace it with an external bypass unloader

I think i have to ask you for some clarification, I'm trying to grasp what is the best state in which my 495 can be. At the very end you mention that slight drops of pressure and pump cycling is normal. My 495 is freshly repacked and at around 2000 PSI it holds pressure for approx. 10 min before cyckling to rebuild the pressure. But at max pressure it cycles a lot more often, around 30 s (i'm testing with water). I dismantled engine cover to see what is going on. When pressure dropps slowly at 2000 PSI I noticed that fan moves slowly, indicating that engine must be spinning slowly, so there has to be some water flow throug the pump, is that right? Is It normal and maybe I could ask you for clarrification why is it happening? What is the reason for these presure drops when the pump is in perfect condition (I mean generally)? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7zYcgQSBli0.html I'm trying to understand details of how these pumps work and when they operate to their best. I would appreciate your insight!

From your video, everything appears proper. The slight movement is the machine maintaining the pressure as the machine leaks down pressure. The higher the pressure, the more frequent the motor will run to maintain. Everything looks good in that video.

@@Brian_the_repair_guy Actually, movement of the fan correlates with pressure dropping, motor does not kick in at all during the time i recorded the video. You can hear it (or actually not hear the motor working), video has sound. Pressure drops form 160 Bar and approaches 150 Bar, I lost patience and ended recording, but at 150 Bar motor creeps and brings pressure up to 160 Bar. Like you eplained in many videos I assume ale is fine, but I am very curious what is going on. For me it looks like piston has to be moving slightly as pressure drops, and it drags motor along, hence fan movement. But why is it happening? Am I wrong, or maybe you have some explenation? So the general question is why pressure drops in the first place, asuuming that pump is in perfect condition, is it sum of some insignificant leaks, or hose expantion under pressure, or some other explenation?

@Brian_the_repair_guy Год назад
@@dorgar123 pressure drop is due to leaks. Airless pumps are not perfect. There is always leakage from the high pressure side to the low. No way around that. All is normal

I got so annoyed I went and bought a Titan 1040T 🤣

The 1040T is a whole different world from the 650. It's like going from the old Nissan pickup to a crewcab Chevy dually 3500 Duramax
