@@miketokles9451 Cousins will never make it 4 years here. His total guarantees are fully 2 years front loaded. So we can cut him after his 2nd season and be completely free of his cap hit. Penix sits for 2 years then takes over and we have 3 years of rookie cheap cap at 6 mil a year to keep adding talent. I think colin cowherd (who i hate usually) broke this down best. Kirk is a regular season monster and you should win the division or be picking near 15 or later. You would have to get a QB in a year or 2 anyways to replace Kirk. You would then have to trade up form 15 to 25 all the way to top 5 or 8 to get a QB of this talent level again. Thats going to cost an absolute fortune to move up that far and cost you way more in the long run than just 1 #8 pick right now does. Im talking like multiple 1sts like it did Panthers for Young. It really sucks now for this year to not grab a good edge at 8. But in a year or 2 from now it's going to save a ton of picks for other players. Plus it allows Penix to learn from a very intelligent QB and for the Falcons not to slow day or go back to sucking like we did after ryan. Would i much rather taken Latu there 100% yes but do i hate the pick no.

GB was coming off NFC championship performances & had a solid team, so they set themselves up for continued success when Rodgers is gone.. not to mention he was pick #26... the Falcons haven't sniffed success since 28-3, have holes all across the roster, and spent the #8 overall pick on a luxury rather than a need.. after getting Cousins on a 4yr/$180mill w/$100mill+ gauranteed... Penix is the most NFL ready QB, he doesn't need to sit. If the Falcons pick top-10 next year, that GM is gone.

@SeanP7195 bro running fast ain't the end all be all, we got jamo and he's fast af why we want multiple speedsters? We need a guy who can make contested catches in the red zone along side amon ra. The redzone contested catches were amon ra and reynolds before, but jamo doesn't fit that kinda skillset. DPJ was always meant to come in and fill those shoes as well as potentially stepping up in special teams kick returns

I mean the Lions did the same thing with Penei Sewell. They already had a probowl LT, and they put Sewell at RT, and he just got the biggest OL contract in history
