I always wonder how good he could’ve been with the Steelers dude would’ve had a chance to learn behind a HoF qb for a year then get handed the reins to a very solid offense
@@devilishdonut1390idk what constitutes a hidden gem in your eyes but if a QB drafted in the 6th round that is a capable starter and excellent backup who can help you win games in a pinch and has a positive TD/INT ratio and is arguably better than some starting QBs who were drafted earlier isn’t a hidden gem, then idk what is
Drew Lock could’ve been a decent plugin starter like Minshew if the Broncos weren’t an absolute dumpster fire that didn’t have a coaching staff run by clowns that also didn’t know or care to develop him. His rookie year was promising but we fired Rich Scangarello so we could use him as a scapegoat to blame for the season’s failure, and the Broncos decided to hire Pat Shurmur to replace him despite Shurmur being one of the worst coaches in the league, which ruined Lock’s development. It also didn’t help that Lock was benched for Teddy Bridgewater which hurt his confidence and development even more. I know I sound like a Drew Lock apologist but it can’t be understated just how much Denver sucks at developing QBs and how much of a circus the organization is
ill never forget how despite the fact that Trace McSorley led his high school to four straight state championship game appearances, very few high major recruiters looked at the six foot tall 180 pounder and said quarterback.
Missed the chance to talk about how Mike leach developed Minshew at Washington state. In recruiting him to Washington state coach leach called him and the first thing he said was “how would you like to lead the whole NCAA in passing yards”……he did.
Drew Lock was/is not the best QB but as a Seahawks fan I will always remember his game against the Eagles in Week 15 and him winning the game with a pass to JSN.
Jake Browning was also part of the 2019 NFL rookie QB class. He was an undrafted free agent. He spent several seasons on the practice squads of the Vikings and the Bengals before winning a job as a backup for the Bengals in 2023. He actually started seven games this past season for the Bengals after Joe Burrow was injured.
As a Broncos fan, I would argue that Drew Lock wasn't really given a chance. He had a head coach, Vic Fangio, who didn't care about the offensive side of the ball. Fangio wasn't interested in developing a QB, he wanted an old veteran. During the one season where Lock was the starter, Fangio admitted that they only used about half of the playbook, because he and the OC didn't have confidence in Lock, nor did they want to work with him. That said, part of the problem with incoming QB classes is due to QBs like Mahomes. Now if a rookie QB isn't immediately an all star, they are deem worthless.
@@baxatakbaxatak2014 okay but this group is full of bums besides Kyler and Kyler visually and talent wise is better than Dj. He definitely was a reach and is not a franchise Qb
I was driving on I95 on that stretch where Haskins was hit. I passed him not knowing it was him and saw him trying to cross the highway. I was wondering why the hell anyone would try to do that.
One of the great things about college football is the fan base judges you based on what you did in school, not that you couldn’t hack it in the league. Cities and towns across America have guys you completely forgot about as local legends.
Gardner Minshew is just the new Ryan Fitzpatrick lol. He is really that in between QB. A well above average backup QB but just slightly below average starting QB.
Minshew on the Raiders is going to be a problem for Broncos fans. I remember when we played him his rookie year. I was at that game and oh my lord he could NOT be stopped!
Jags fans have no hate in their heart when it comes to Gardner. We will love and support him no matter where even when he went to the Colts. Except when he played us.
I find it funny as a giants fan how fans of other teams think of Jones as a reach and an overall disappointment. But many giants fans hate his guts and you’d think he was the biggest bust of all time.
I don't think any QB drafted after round 2 that only turns into a backup level qb is a disappointment, QBs drafted later than the 2nd are seen as backup level QBs and anything more than that is a plus, it's only a disappointment if they do absolutely nothing
not really relevant but halfway thru this video, I got an ad for Miller Lite, for Detroit Tigers fans. I live over 700miles from Detroit, dont watch baseball, AND I dont even drink
2018 Eli Manning: 4299 yards, 21 TDs, 11 INTs, 92.4 passer rating. Daniel Jones matched this only in 2022 and had the Giants not drafted him, they could and probably would have drafted a QB in the 2020 draft with a far better QB class.
Dwayne Haskins was a Dan Snyder pick. The coaches and scouts (i.e., Jay Gruden) had serious questions about him but would have considered him later in the draft, maybe even in the 2nd. They ended up trading back into the 1st round for Montez Sweat as sort of a compensation for acquiescing to taking Dwayne. So dysfunctional.
Daniel Jones, Drew Lock and Will Grier all had potential but they was a flop….. Gardener was a hidden gem and Kyler Murray is the best qb taken in that draft.
I hope you do the best QB draft class since '83, the 2020 class. Also Daniel Jones is what happens when a team crosses the line from being in denial to delusional.
Wish I could have seen haskin make it so much talent that was wasted Because They didn't have the right people coaching JONES SHOULD HAVE BEEN A 3RD rounder
You guys need to let up all of a sudden everyone is a bust they throw them kids into the starting role right away and then there a bust destroying career not funny more success rate when guys sit a year or two
