Blaster Cannon Core can go to hell. I got so many game overs fighting that rotten S.O.B. Considering how bosses in Gradius tend to be pushovers, having a boss straight out of Bullet Hell was a wake-up call. I don't mind a challenge, but I have my limits.
Gradius III arcade version is way harder than the SNES version, which was actually my first Gradius game, so it's a lot less fun that I remember, but I and II on the Collection were very challenging but at the same time very fun, and IV and Gaiden are the same except for some stages being moving areas like the fire stage in IV where there's lava everywhere and chunks of rock formations form around and then the lava moves in waves, it's way too hard for me to avoid traps like that.
Awesome for acting calm and cool when the option hunter appeared. Usually, when an option hunter appears, I start to panic and will eventually get shot.
My Mom is seriously grossed out by the huge heart XD. She calls it the ooey gooey boss XD. For the Cell stage in Gradius VI, it will not be a giant organic planet, instead it will be a giant organic space monster that appeared out of nowhere and gobled up the vic viper. Now that's even more scary XD. And the Blaster cannon core is most Vulnerable when he is FIREN HIS LAZERS XD!
Dur...-eyes explode from many bullet- Nice trick with the exploding bomb part. Gosh got to go play this game again and get better with rotation formation of course, ;P
@aliultimate009 Hmm...that reminds me. Which Multiple (Asking for your Opinion expert Gradius Pilot) is the best choice for the stages (For example, Freeze could be Stage 3 while Direction for Stage 6)?
So what does the pilot say when fighting the Ground Spider? I hear him say "Destroy the Armor." You used my favorite Multiple #1: Freeze when you usually use Direction on that Stage 5 Boss. Also you said that is the Second Most Hardest Boss to you (I hate that Boss in all eternity. He should be in Touhou or any Danmaku game). Oh dear. I wonder who's first?
many people like me in the past were thinking the same so i don't blame you ^_^ ok i'll explain ^^ when you rotate the rotating option type forward the laser power is more directed below your ship but when you rotate it backwards the opposite happens that the fire power is more directed above your ship ^_^ hope this explains it ^^
Gradius IV is also unfairly very difficult when you play it on high difficulties but on easy it's like walking on a park ^^ but Gradius Gaiden is like a children game if it was played on easiest but on hardest starting from loop 2 it'll make your head spin but it's way fairly to be challenged since you have too many chances to evade not like the rest of the series from Gradius I to Gradius IV on high difficulties :(
@AZDA9S Each Option type has its bonuses and its drawbacks. Personally, I prefer Spacing. Combined with E-Laser, it makes mincemeat of bosses because you can focus all your options in a single line. It's a bit weak in stages, but Tailgun or Free-Way can shore up that weakness.
@aliultimate009 Destroy the Bie? Ha! Yeah. Missing more than one bombs is deadly. So I guess Direction isn't the only method you choose. I need to practice more on Direction but I just simply LOVE Freeze. Roger that one.
@aliultimate009 I use Ripple with Spacing for high speed strikes. I use Fire Blaster with Rotate for decimating creeps. I used that against Elephant Gear, and BOOM!
@aliultimate009 My brother suggested the E-Laser and Rotate, but it's not very effective unless when facing Bigcore 1.2. I NEVER used E-Laser with Direction because it is hard to control.
if you can notice on when is the right time to evade the incoming red electric shots on those safe spots you'll notice that it's way easy to be evaded ^_^
i respectively don't agree that the spacing type with E-laser is tougher than freeze type with E-laser because you can't guarantee 100% that your attacks will hit the core easily and more directed than freeze type , because i've tested them both to see the results : 1- spacing E-laser could be good for wide range attacks ... but not too good for quick enemies kills unless the options are hold in a hard explainable pro way ^_^ 2- Freeze E-laser is the opposite 180 digress from spacing type ^_^
@EigenX7 it's konami code only works with normal difficulty or less ^_^ it is ( press start then push these - up up down down left right left right L1 R1 ) ^_^
the maximum loop in difficulty for Gradius V is loop 10 because i've tested loop 11 and it looks the same as loop 10 ^_^ don't believe that the harder the loop goes the higher the difficulty gets after loop 10 ^_^ i still don't get on why the game directors added 256 loops which is the loop where the game locks but this is the truth ^_^ for example about Gradius Gaiden the maximum loop is loop 8 because every player who reaches that loop will notice it locks ^_^
@Sableneko You can also do that with Freeze as well...I mean about putting it all together for a powerful burst of E-Laser. But you may know something more I don't know about Spacing. I do know this - When using Laser, Freeze and Spacing doesn't have that continuous stream of Laser like Direction and Rotation. I never did use the other weapons much. (I'm not that good because I don't practice enough. Mostly because of Raiden Fighters Aces). Your Username sounds very familiar by the way.
@liamcox93 the spots on the back is a very known basic for the most who've started to search for safe spots for huge heart ^^ but the spots on the front are more suicidally but faster to attack the cell straight ^^
if it was for custom weapon selection you can make each of them the best in it's own way but if you took it in normal weapon selection array or the best fitful custom selection for all stages then all weapons is balanced by each one got it's difficulty usage and simple usage ^_^ for example if you want the direction type to be hard try ripple laser from weapon custom or try spacing type with fire blaster or normal laser ^_^ from this point all types is balanced ^_^
as i can simply tell that all weapons is balanced depending on your skills ... so if you're like a super human XD to be able to clear the game on all types or clearing all the bosses on highest loops with all types that should prove the balance for the game weapons ^_^
i always think that he said destroy the bie or bi i don't know XD yes and the reason is depending on the boss sometimes there is a needed type to make it through safely or suicidally ... the one i used is safe but the way i fought him on the start is suicidally because if you missed any or 2 bombs you'll be dead for sure XD you'll see who is first soon which is like a blood in my teeth T_T

... Konami overdid it this time. The game is probably made with cocaine and other drugs, with the exception of marijuana. Marijuana would only make the game slower. Come to think of it, why is Tetran's effect in Yu-Gi-Oh being able to remove traps? I don't see the similarities when it comes to the games. The only one that makes sense is Covered Core, and Big Core Mk-II. Crystal Core also doesn't make any sense. Covered Core, being able to flip a coin and if you call it right, he doesn't get a reduction in counters, which makes sense. And Big Core Mk-II, can be special summoned from your hand if you control no other monsters, also makes sense since it seems to be the fastest of all the core-vehicles.
well if you want my opinion after i got damned up from too many tries with all types - as far as i can tell is type 2 - or direction option type - because it's almost useful in every stage in the game & all situations ^_^ for example the awesome player shinya killed all the bosses with direction option type , hardly and easily XD
oh .. i see you need to get some knowledge about the bombs ^_^ it is called spread bombs ^_^ depending on the situation it can be useful or deadly ^_^ so the player must use it very carefully ^_^ i see ^^ so you're a rotating option type user ^^ just for supporting you ... the rotation type is dangerous when used vs Blaster Cannon Core on loop 10 or Stage 6 in any loop ^_^ but if you want to use it in stage select in any stage or bosses except those that i've mentioned you'll own the rest XD
Um ... I've been playing Gradius V since 2004 so ... i'm familiar with the Option Hunter but it chooses to appear at a certain situations like if you have proceeded long enough on the stage with many weapons at your disposal ... also the situation which i was in - against Bigcore MK-IV had put me on a very tight spot which had lowered my chance for evasion, but i'm happy that it did steal at least one option because i was planing to finish the boss rush without force field so for me to lose one option seems to work well as a punishment 😆
if you want my opinion don't play any of the Gradius Arcade games like in Gradius collection from 1 to 4 because they were all made in a completely unfair difficulty style sadly -_- the only fair Gameplay Gradius games i've ever played are the console versions like the best of them Gradius Gaiden & G-V ^^ those which truly gives you a good time to challenge even on loop 10 ^^ so which means since you're stuck in Gradius III Arcade that most unfair Game in the series doesn't means you suck XD
Wow, I had to put this game on EASY to beat it for the first time, this is pretty ridiculous. Of course, when I got Gradius Collections on the PSP I went back and beat 1 and 2 on NORMAL for once, now I'm stuck on 3 since it's bullet hell and I suck. This game was an example of modernizing an old classic and doing it right, Konami knows wtf they're doing, unlike a few other companies out there........
looks like the less knowledge side gives the person a little push to mention the obvious not correct result while at the same time it might be untested ... once the prove and the knowledge combined before telling the true result then you'll be accepted by other knowledgeable people ^_^ to make it more simple ... try to figure it out by seeking for the succeeded tries then we'll judge between the truth and the false ^_^
