Thanks for the video Chioma. I personally think most people come to study in Australia for PR. Otherwise, the education that Australian universities offers aren't really worth the price they are charging international students. I'm predicting that these drastic migration changes will also drastically reduce international students and thereby the income for universities, and eventually the government will have to ease some restrictions in order to milk more money out of international student system.

There are lots of international students who are abusing their student visa and enrolled in fake schools. Instead of studying, they are low skilled workers with poor English, working insane hours every week, receiving cash payments, never contributing on tax. Most of them have been living here for many years (7-10 years) and still holding student visa but never study.

I’m a Nigerian. I am also a highly skilled Expat Teacher who has travelled the world on a work permit for myself and dependents for the last 20 years. In my experience most people already have certifications that would enable them get highly skilled jobs around the world and therefore occupy a higher level of the workforce desperately needed everywhere. Yet there is this mad rush towards lower skilled jobs. For this reason, I applaud channels like this for opening peoples eyes, and it has prompted me to start documenting my experience on my channel, in the hopes that it would help someone see their potential and maybe rise to their rightful place with grace.

I believe they will review the New Rules...Bcs they wont close all the Doors, And still expect Int'l Students to patronise their Colleges. Coming to Australia is a huge Investment and a Life time Plan. The Immigration Authority will attain their GOAL. Bcs all these Policies are Discouraging...Numbers of Int'l Students will be reduced to 70% in a foreseeable 2024. @@guessmoments

I would rethink coming to Australia and look at other countries like US (skip if you are from India) or Canada where the immigration system is much friendlier than the one in Australia. That change means that even if you manage to graduate with your PHD there is no path for you to stay in Australia.

To be honest, with the influx of migrant as well as international, and applications being assessed so easily for people to be in Australia, but the probability of staying permanently is small; I dont think it's worth investing in a degree here. It's also because of the housing crisis that put alot of Australians into state of homelessness. More people coming to a country = they'll need accomodation to stay = high demand in property = property rates increase significantly = alot of ppl can't afford it. Plus inflation. Unfortunately I have to agree with the government, that they must put Australian citizens and permanent residents first, before everyone else. I know it sounds harsh, but it is what it is.
