Oregonian here. The reason Oregon's beaches are so spectacular (beside the obvious geologic benefits from Nature) is that all the beaches are unspoiled by private resorts and dwellings, overcrowding down to the shoreline. Years ago, the people of Oregon passed a referendum deeming the beaches public property, unavailable to private buyers and exploitation.

That is a good idea! I have a question about Oregon. Why do they prohibit premium offers and such? For instance, when I was young we would send in box tops to Post or Kellogg and get a toy. There would be a notice saying "Prohibited in Oregon". It is still like that today on both tv and radio spots. I was just wondering what the thinking is on that.

- American cities and towns all looks practically the same. In terms of architecture and infrastructure and ofc those suburbs (all houses look the same in the same neighborhoods) - majority of countries in the world have different accents from province/state to another and some even have couple languages (not that they study them in school but they're small languages from those areas) - almost all tropical and subtropical countries have diverse fauna and flora including the USA and some other 60 countries (entire of Africa, southern Europe, southern north America, all of South America, oceania and southern Asia) - different climate depends on many factors such as size and location of the country and its region but there is many countries with diverse climates even though some can be considered small - medium size - different foods, cultures, peoples, yes that's the only thing you get right but it's also sad because that's the reason America is lowkey falling

You do not get the same thing as going to a different country. The people who have brought the Mexican culture here still live it in America. The culture and food in Mexico is different from the Mexican-American culture and food. If you only stay in America, you are not challenged by a different place, language and laws. You can talk with people and discover how they see things differently. That is part of the experience of foreign travel.

Wyoming native here and I'll share a secret with you. If you're not opposed to wearing a jacket mid April is one of my favorite times to go to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. The mountains are usually still blanketed in snow and look absolutely majestic but the lower areas have started their melt and spring green is usually getting developed. It can still have a bit of nip to the air but the added bonus is that the bears are generally all out of hibernation and are much more visible as they are actively hunting/foraging. Just don't give them any reason to come after you and you'll be fine, but watching them fish with snow around is quite remarkable. Plus, the crowds won't be arriving yet and you'll be able to have a more intimate visit to my parks!

Most of these videos don't cover only the east and west coasts. The Midwest, Plains states, Texas etc. are beautiful in their own ways and are nice... but you're going to be hard pressed in those states to find places that can match up to the plethora of things to see and do, or the stunning scenery and landscapes of some of the other regions. Even with all of these there are so many more national parks that aren’t included on this list not to mention that each state has special designations that usually only locals know about and one can’t forget about things such as jazz in New Orleans or country music in Nashville or hit Beale street in Memphis for some blues music and for a bit of soul music you could hit Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia or St. Louis and for rock and roll ya might want to hit Portland, Oregon- Los Angeles- Austin, Texas - Seattle,Washington- SanDiego, California and southern rock came from states in the south like Tennessee Georgia Florida Texas etc. Now all of these are up for debate but I think I’ve gotten close

The only way we could afford to travel to all the National Parks and experience nature at it's finest with 4 kids and 2 adults was; we had mini van, took along tents, a camp stove, folding table, ice chest to hold food, skillet, pots, paper plates, food, sleeping bags, and pillows. Of course we had our clothes and lots of cameras. Because of unforeseen problems with 2 of the kids, my hub opted to rent a second mini van. Because of camping, we saved a fortune on motel, and we had the food we wanted and cooked it, we saved another fortune on restaurants. We did eat out at restaurants on several occasions to give me a break from cooking & cleaning. But we really saved a lot with being able to set up tents, air mattresses to sleep on, sleeping bags, and usually camping was free or a charge of $5 for one night. There were restrooms nearby for the kids, and water was located throughout the camping areas. As a result in the savings, we were able to go see the following in 2 weeks; Las Vegas, Zion National Park, Yosemite National Park, Red Rock Canyon, Bryce Canyon, The Arches, The Coral Sand Dunes, North Rim Grand Canyon, Lake Mead, South Rim Grand Canyon, Walnut Canyon (Indian Cliff Dwellings outside Flagstaff), Jerome (historical mining town in Arizona), and then home. We had an AWESOME TIME!! And we weren't broke when we got home. We prefer camping so we could have more family one-on-one time together. We both worked, so it was very important for us to be with our kids and make special memories with them.

As soon as I retire, I'm getting me a van camper to go to all the national parks I have not been to. I think I've only been to like 7.... People also sleep on a lot of state parks, such as Goblin Valley, and Jededia Smith Redwood Forest

Moab, UT arches national park is another spot I feel should have been added. Delicate arch is a 1.5 mile hike and a really easy one to do. Sitting up there and watching the sun set and the colors change on the arch was amazing. Great park to drive around and see all of the rock formations.

I saw a European woman on a video say Americans aren't well traveled. She was corrected by a European male who now is here in the US. He let her know the size of America means we can live a lifetime and take a vacation 1 time a year somewhere different every year. We wouldn't have to see the same place twice.

If you’re into the outdoors the west is where to go anywhere from Colorado west really. You could do a road trip and hit a few of these on the Pacific Coast Highway. You can start in Seattle, then hit Olympic national park, cannon beach, the redwood forest, big sur, LA and San Diego all on that highway and also cut inland to Yosemite, Death Valley etc.

We have driven from Michigan to California, Florida and to New York state. There is so much to see in each state on the way, like the Finger Lake Region in New York or the ghost town in Wyoming. My husband and his brother climbed up the Grand Tetons when they were younger and he and I have been rock climbing in West Virginia and the scenery in West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina is fantastic. We have also driven to Ontario, Canada to hike the Bruce Trail which runs from Niagara Falls north two hundred miles through all sorts of terrain, to the Bruce Peninsula. We didn't do the whole trip, but they have sectioned it out in more easily manageable treks.

From Anchorage to Mount McKinley ( which they recently renamed it back to the original name Denali) is 280 miles n on a clear day can be seen. The wildlife moose, many bears, eagles. whales. many species of fish n so much more. Earthquakes are common. The mainland is 50 miles from Russia n only afew miles from a small US island between. Thank God we have many Military Bases that keep watch. Keep the videos coming. Jono prayers for you❤❤❤❤❤

This video is better than most of these type of videos, imho. So many spots that never make it into other videos that should. One of my favorites is the Bonneville Salt Flats. Otherworldly. And, New England often gets left out. Stunningly beautiful & historic. The others are all deserving also. Traveling abroad is wonderful if you can afford it or have the vacation time. Many Americans can't & don't. Hence the reason that more don't have passports. In lieu of traveling internationally we travel within our own borders. Our money goes further if international flights aren't necessary. There is so much to see that it can't be seen in one lifetime. As you can see, in many states you would need numerous trips to see the entirety of one state. California is one example. The few spots in the video are just a small fraction of the magnificent beauty of the state. There are also sand dunes in different areas of the state, along with the Mohave Desert, ie: Death Valley & The Giant Rock (the biggest freestanding rock in the world. There's Mt Whitney, the highest mountain peak in the contiguous U.S., Sequoia National Park, Joshua Tree, Bumpass Hell Lassen Volcanic National Park/Geysers, etc. Sturtevant Falls in Angeles National Forest, Lava Beds National Monument, Rainbow Falls, Big Bear, Arrowhead, Squaw Valley & Mammoth Ski Resorts, Mt Shasta, Bowling Ball Beach, Glory Hole, Burney Falls, Napa Valley (wine country), Catalina Island. So many more mountain ranges, forest, rivers, etc. And, these are just another fraction of sights to see. People come to California & hit L.A. & San Francisco and actually think they have seen CA. When in fact they have seen a "tiny" fraction of the state.

The thing about New York is that it’s got five boroughs Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, Manhattan, and the Bronx. Each is like a totally different city, they kinda are;) However, being a St Louis Missourian I of course suggest you visit St. Louis. Great music venues, the World Famous St. Louis Zoo, the world famous St Louis symphony orchestra, the world famous St. Louis Art Museum, and dozens of other museums, and. 90 minute drive south west of St. Louis you have your choice of a half dozen rivers to float. It’s 4+ hours away, but we have the world famous city of Branson, water parks, and music venues of every style of music. If your into fishing we have an innumerable number of great fishing lakes and rivers!!

Look online to see the park prices, this will save you so much money and time. Dont over look The Great Smoky mountains in Tennessee. Dollywood and Gatlinburg Tn. Then hop over to Nashville or as we call it here Music Ciry. Home of The Ryman Auditorium and the Grand ol Opry.

My family and I vacation as often as possible in the Del Norte Coast Redwoods at Jedediah Smith State Park. Stout Grove is where the oldest growth trees are 3000 to 5000 years old. It is so serene it almost doesn't feel real. It is where parts of the Star Wars movie was filmed. We enjoy doing float trips down the Smith River in rafts and small individual rubber boats, and fishing for steelhead trout.

I don't know as a Floridian the Keys are great and all but I think my favorite place in the state is Crystal River, I mean the water there is just this like almost neon blue color and it almost looks like your looking through a piece of stained glass, plus there's a lot of manatees there and I just adore all those water potatoes they are so chill to hang out with. I think a close second and much nearer to the Keys is Fort Jefferson, I mean its just a huge 19th century fort built on a tiny island in the middle of the ocean which is impressive in its own right, but ya add the historical significance to it which makes it all the better.

Coming from Indiana, there's one that you could try en route to Chicago, called Indiana Dunes. It's basically a park made from sand dunes, and it's considered a state park inside a national park. It's more wide than tall, but you can still get a lot out of it. It gives you a great view of Chicago from certain vantage point, and you're basically right on Lake Michigan at certain parts.

I feel blessed to have visited most of these locations. The video touches upon each one, but each has much more to offer than what was shown here. Lake Tahoe is an ancient volcano crater, and gets deeper each year. In addition to giant sequoias (up to 325ft tall, and 3,300 years old) and redwoods (up to 350ft tall, and 2,000 years old), California also has the oldest trees, Bristlecone pines (up to 60ft tall, and 5,000 years old). Yellowstone geysers also contain harsh minerals and chemicals. Between the super heated water, minerals, and chemicals animals and people quickly die and dissolve. On Maui, Hawaii is the Iao Valley, home of the Iao Needle and supposedly one of the wettest places on earth. Death Valley National Park is also a wonder to see, as the lowest place in America, and hottest place on earth. Currently the lowest point, Badwater Basin, has water in it from recent storms. It's nicknamed Lake Manly after the ancient lake that once existed in this part of the arid Mojave desert.

I hope you remember that even our medium sized states rival the size of the UK. Plan your vacation so you’re not wasting most of it driving, unless you really love driving. The upside is that even at the height of tourist season you can find plenty of spectacular places that have few if any other tourists.

Even those pictures scare me.. Give me soft beaches and service with a smile. A spa day would be great to. No hiking for me. He didn't touch the midwest.. but the great lakes has a lot to offer, and a lit easier to visit. I'd recommend doing the new England area, and use the public transport to get to Boston, and New York. Then fly to either Texas, or Chicago and rent a car to do a several day travel from both states, but you can't do it all.

Going to New York City would be what my uncle used to call a trophy event. A once in a lifetime experience that everyone needs to have but not for long and not over and over again. Call me a rube but I like the mountains or some place like Kansas where you can see for thirty miles or so with no problem. The last person I read about that wound up in one of the Yellowstone hot springs dissolved. Between the boiling hot water and the toxic chemicals in the water not only do you die but you dissolve. The only thing that they recovered from the guy was one sandal, part of his pants and his wallet. Plus it’s freaky dangerous to go and try to recover anything so if they don’t see stuff on the edge they assume you’re done for and go home.

40 min north of Boston here. Our accents are quite related. We follow the same rules with letter R. Our vowels are just different. Boston, New York, and Georgia had the most communication with England when they decided to drop their "R"s so we all do the same. It allign with Australia and South Africa as well.
