Great - I am struggling with this - helps. Biggest lesson so far from watching Graham is low RPM (don't chase it) and get my weight back (I'm too far forward). I'll get it!!
@PrimalEnduro

One thing he said was, get the front end to balance point as quickly as possible. It's hard to slow wheelie with it up just a little bit. You instinct will be to chase it with throttle and then you are not going slow.

Last weekend I popped clutch and yanked up from a dead stop to purposely get a wheelie too high. The reason I did that was because I planned in jabbing the rear brake when it got to 12 oclock. I did just that! actually pulled it off! I feel like its my first real step in the right direction. I was fully past 12 oclock, hit the rear brake, and slammed the front down. Not smooth at all, but I KNOW I can catch that rear brake to save myself now
@PrimalEnduro
@PrimalEnduro 4 года назад
covering the rear brake is the most important part. Now that you have that down you can safely work on the "smooth" part! Nice job!
@sciencemilitia1853
@sciencemilitia1853 4 года назад
@@PrimalEnduro Thanks! I can definitely visualize myself actually doing it right. Such an easy concept to talk about. I'm going to work on consistency, next. I think 2 strokes are the best for learning proper rear brake control.

Wheelie no problem!!!! But have you seen him run an enduro ?? Lol. That is amazing
@emburgess7186
@emburgess7186 4 года назад
I did exactly what he explained about the guy who got to much throttle an went over backwards. I learned seated wheelies on a 450f an when I tried that same technique on a 300xc it flipped me right over like mom flipping a pancake on Sunday. I landed on hands an knees but the bike ripped off it's fender, seat, an both side plastic ruined. My question is what power value spring would you recommend in the ktm's for practicing slow wheelie??? Red, yellow, green???
@savageenduro
@savageenduro 4 года назад
em Burgess most people I know run yellow which is stock or “medium”. You can also adjust the power-valve on the ktms to move the hit
@PrimalEnduro
@PrimalEnduro 4 года назад
I don't think it matters which spring you use for this technique. It's more about body position and clutch/throttle control. The slow wheelie requires very little power from the bike. If you are spinning the rear tire you are doing it wrong.
@emburgess7186
@emburgess7186 4 года назад
@@savageenduro Thanks. I have yellow spring installed now.
@emburgess7186
@emburgess7186 4 года назад
@@PrimalEnduro I agree but you need to have that little help from your thottle as soon as you turn it...my two stroke right now has a small hesitation when opening the throttle. You can hear it revving up but as soon as you slip clutch some it bogs down...so what I did was gave it more throttle an that's when she flipped me like moms pancake on Sunday morning. Now on my four stroke if you just blip the throttle there is no dead spot. It comes up right away. That's why I was thinking maybe I need to turn power value in or out some like one person suggest. What's your feeling on this an do you know which direction to go? Turn in a quarter turn or turn it out?

the ravedaddy any idea why? Is it the bike weight or what. Bc even the crf 150 can do wheelie tho
@PrimalEnduro
@PrimalEnduro 4 года назад
Then you are doing something wrong! It takes very little motor to get the front end in the air! Any bike can do it. Watch how he weights the suspension and then feeds in just a little bit of clutch/throttle while springing back up/back. It's very easy once you get the hang of it. Try doing stationary front wheel hops with the engine off...bounce it like a pogo stick until you figure it out then the rest will come easy!
@thegreatone582
@thegreatone582 4 года назад
I can ride massive wheelies on z125. Not the motor, you need to practice..
@PrimalEnduro
@PrimalEnduro 4 года назад
@@thegreatone582 100% lots of people making statements that their suspension is too stiff, or they don't have enough motor. It's not the bike, it's the rider. Watch the technique and practice it, you will be amazed what you can do with proper form!
@thefalkor7731
@thefalkor7731 4 года назад
no whiskey throttle is the key. It's tough for me not to whisky when the bike is coming up.
@PrimalEnduro
@PrimalEnduro 4 года назад
All that is needed is a quick blip of throttle timed with the clutch and rebound. If you trying to use throttle to keep the wheel up you are doing something wrong. If you want to slow wheelie, you have to get the front end to the balance point real quick. It's hard to try and go slow with the front end just a little bit off the ground, the instinct will be to use more throttle.
@thefalkor7731
