Brighton were doing so good this year with Potter, when he left i thought it was over for them, mid table yet again. Yet after a brief stint of losing, they went right back to winning without him. Meanwhile at Chelsea as soon as the new manager bounce ended he's been nothing but terrible.
Honestly I think they’ve been better without him. They’ve had the same fluid style of play, but now they actually look like they can finish off some of the chances they create, which they didn’t do well before
@hanizahab8032 they did. Chelsea had a 8 match unbeaten run and beat Milan twice home and away. The rot started in late November and hasn't stopped. Scary to think that Potter has had 2 months of hell and can't even make a small improvement.
But that’s the thing, would it matter if Brighton lose to fulham or drew against forest? By Brighton standards, GP was great, but this is Chelsea , a team that has 21 trophies in the last 10 years, I know I’m not the only one who was like “who?” When I heard that TT is sacked and GP taking over, don’t get me wrong, I don’t have anything against GP but with Chelsea he’s punching way above his reach, “lies and deception don’t last long…” and it’s evident, as a pensioner, i do wish he can turn things around because I don’t like seeing my team going through what we going through but I don’t see that happening with Potter

I've only started watching them and have watched Irish guy for years. Irish guy said that Richarlison shouldn't be in the Brazil squad. That's just one of many horrendous football takes.
Brighton fan football hipster here I think Potter was a bad choice for the basket case that is Chelsea but I’m not really sure who would work. We are better with Di Zerbi but Chelsea is a club that replaces planning with money and at a certain point that just doesn’t work. Brighton, Brentford, and now maybe Fulham are proof a club with a plan can punch well above their weight.
A plan has short term goals. Chelsea have a pipe dream and no idea how to reach that. Its really something happens then we have a squad that Potter wants and he gets to top 4. No actual steps how to deal with this season.
Fulham is best underdoog of the league right now But all Brighton, brentford and fulham are a breath of fresh Air. Hope that, at least one of them can qualify to, at least, conference league
That "replacing planning with money" had worked extremely well for almost 20 years now. Yea there were shit stints like in 15/16, but everytime it happened, Chelsea bounced back straight away and won a lot of major trophies. Now they actually are trying out sth new with an actual "plan" with Potter, and its been the worst fucking thing I've ever seen after supporting the club for almost 15 years now.

As a Chelsea Supporter I would love to have a long term manager at the Club , fed up of the revolving door for managers however I’ve never agreed with the appointment of Potter and he simply is not the answer, we need to find someone and give them time to build like pep or klopp even Arteta has done but Potter is not that man.
Facts, we definitely appreciate a long term approach to our managers but we want good managers for us back. But for now, let's stick with Potter till end of season and hopefully offload some deadweight of this squad.
Klopp worked with what he had. He motivated the players. Potter just goes Conte mode. Not the lion prowling and growling. the folded arms and pout phase.

They'll sack potter soon and then they'll probably sack the interim if he doesn't win the champions league and then appoint a new manager who'll they probably sack in a year and so on
As a Chelsea fan that started screaming when Potter was even mentioned as a future Chelsea manager, I couldn't agree more. He's awful and I saw that from a mile away, shame Chelsea didn't see it too. It's just sad.

This is the most serious Irish guy has ever been.. but really all the media hype led us to believe that Potter is a great choice for Chelsea. Now that he is compiling loss after loss it's becoming clearer the reality is something else. Even considering all the major injuries, Chelsea should be winning most of those games that they have lost.

10th is his current position. He will get 0 points the rest of the season and nearly if not relegate Chelsea. People see the future and think Potter can bring them there without taking care of this season. People say Potter is a good manager but he has yet to manage Chelsea in a meaningful way. Chelsea have players good enough to play at the top half level if motivated and coached. Under a tactical novice like Lampard, Chelsea won more matches than under Potter.

Arsenal believed in Arteta and gave him time despite a rocky start. If Chelsea believed enough in Potter to give him the job they should give him as much time.

Chelsea have no identity right now, that WAS their identity under Roman, now who knows, it's like they're trying to remain a big club but have absolutely no idea except throwing money around. At least with Roman, he bought players he was convinced could stick around for years, hence all those loan deals, one or two of those players might be useful long term. Now under Boehly it's just throw money everywhere. Dudes just come in and couldn't do much but buy 2 players they're not going to do miracles especially halfway through the season. You know, in as much as everybody criticises the Abramovich era, which is absolutely valid and I feel the same, it did however have a "plan". City and Liverpool and also Sir Alex era United show that trusting a manager will lead to continued results. Yes, the Abramovich era lacks the consistent success, but it bring success either way. That era us very much similar in many ways to what Real Madrid is doing, they don't win La liga season after season but they win it with their own plan to success. With that said, I am very much happy with the plan Ted has my club and we should just chill and be patient. This is the first season in our new era, our mindset is still stuck from the old regime but from next season, we should be in the current one abit. Let's take it season by season.
I think Potter did a good job at Brighton, but I think De Zerbi is better. And Potter is out of his deep at Chelsea, also he took over the club in a middle of a crisis.

At Brighton I rated Potter. As soon as he left for Chelsea I could tell he'd fucked it. He had something going at Brighton, but I just didn't think Chelsea would work at all.
I mean this shows why the club having a vision is more important then just getting in big namss. Bha lose one of the bigger name value managers but barely notice his loss cos the whole club moves in the same direction towards the same vision. I always thought potter was overrated yes he’s a good manager and yes Brighton could’ve finished 6th every season on expected goals but the reality is they were finishing 15th and 16th besides last season every season so to say potter is/was amongst the best managers in the world is crazy

There's a telling stat here which he neglected. Brighton havent scored less than 2 goals in a Premier league match since mid October... Potter weren't achieving anything close to that
While I dont think potter will achieve much at Chelsea he has lost alot of players through injuries even though even with those players I dont think they would be in the top 4
