It amuses me to no end that not only did Steve name his firstborn child not just after any crocodile, but Graham's girlfriend, the croc who's nearly killed him and his best friend.
Tis called respect. Graham, whilst always trying to kill both Wes and Steve, still respects them. They fed him, looked after him, and ensured they lived a good life. Animosity between them? Sure. But respect is there from both sides.
Have a look at Wes....they had to put Graham down and Wes literally crashed to the ground but he never once let go of those jaws. They trusted him with the most important job....those jaws were not yet secured and it didn't matter if he fell and it hurt....he was holding those jaws. And then he is literally HUGGING the croc. His face is literally resting on the croc's head to make sure no one else gets bitten.
Wes and Steve have history with Graham. In this episode Wes gets bit and when Crocodile Hunter premiered when it was on NBC back in the day before he moved to the Discovery Channel and then Animal Planet Steve was also bit and now it's Rob's turn to feed them and he needs to be careful or Graham will be snacking on him. The score needs to be Graham 2 Irwins 12 not Graham 3 Irwins 11. Everytime they nab him someone gets bit. Look at this segment alone Graham went after Wes and Steve stopped him and in the pilot Graham went after Steve and Wes stopped him. You don't mess with crocs especially Graham he is dangerous.
The new show, Crikey, it the Irwin’s, is so awesome! Wes mentors & protects young Rob so much as he feeds Graham! It’s amazing all the legacy involved.
incredible to see that Steve was such a loud, smiling, funny guy but when things were intense he was the most dead serious professional you could imagine...
what i love about steve, is that he showed us how 'serious' you have to be when caring for crocs, 12 people, 12 full grown, in shape adults, who work with all 'kinds' of animals, and STILL, Graham is able to push them 'literally' to the ground, even while hes being held. he showed us how 'strong' crocs are, and to never underestimate em
and that is not the worse of it. Remember when Crocodile Hunter was on NBC when it came out . Graham bit Steve and Wes after they captured Lucy and Monty and when they went to grab him he bit them Wes pulled Steve out on the first go and Steve had to pull Wes out on the second. Graham bit Steve on the hand he bit Wes on the foot, the leg, the arm, on the butt, and on the side currently the score is Graham 2 Irwins 12 if they are not careful the Irwin's score goes down and Graham gets a point for biting them.
I love how they never drugged the animals, they didn’t believe it was best for them. Just amazing how everyone there is willing to put their life’s on the line for the welfare of the animals they care for
@@gracebrowning3404 According to Steve himself, drugging a croc isn't a good idea, because one tiny bit off on the dosage, and you have a dead croc. It's actually "easier" to keep them conscious and use people power to move and control.
Graham is about to be moved into his new home the Crocoseum which in this episode of Crocodile Hunter is under construction. There are two reasons why Steve built it 1. it will help demonstrate what crocs can do and 2. it is out of the flood path. If you looked at Graham's old pen it was dirty the reason was a hurricane hit Melbourne, Queensland, and Brisbane and made a direct assault on the zoo and flooded it. The Crocoseum is on higher ground and is larger so the crocs have more room to nest and to play when the feeders come to do the demos.
I miss this man's presence in the world. We all lost a little bit of magic the day Steve died. No one could speak more passionately about wildlife. Rest in peace
Steve was right in his appreciation for crocadiles. What an amazing creature this one: beautiful, clever, stealthy, with lightning fast reflexes, and so strong it takes 12 strong men and women to wrangle. Thank you Steve Irwin; I hope to visit your zoo someday and get to see Graham for myself.
God I remembered when this first aired. Snacks in hand, frozen with each scene, only able to eat during commercial break or so the slower parts. Even at 17 years of age he could bring out the child wonderment in you and keep you hanging on to every word and action. Miss you Steve. Hope you are having fun in your own animal world up there.
You know what? I am actually. I was ashamed of what my fellow Filipinos had done to Lolong.. you still remember lolong yeah? There would be no second thoughts of Steve going to Philippines to see Lolong mate. if he was still alive.... God bless you...
I met Steve when I was really little and ever since then he's been my idol. I seriously hate that sting ray but Steve would have just said "what a beauty" I wish we could bring him back. besides love the duck!! P.S I,m actually soph's sister
Steve Irwin was my childhood hero, and he forever will be. It never ceases to blow my mind how big of an ordeal it is to work with these animals. I recently watched Robert move Graham and they had even more people.
and this is an episode dedicated to their nemesis Graham. Wes and Steve met on a capture back in 1988 when Crocodile Hunter premiered. Graham, Lucy, and Monty were living down by the docks and breaking into fish traps and crab pots. Steve and Wes captured them, but when it came to grabbing Graham he bit Steve and then went after Wes. Graham has never forgiven Steve and Wes and if Rob is not careful he will be the next one on Grahams score card.
I thought Steve was very knowledgeable and I learned alot from him, I wish I could have met him, that would have been a dream come true foe me. I had so much respect for him and he was my idol too. Miss u Steve, RIP
Yeah, Bindi was called after a croc and dog, and Robert was named after his grandfather, Robert (Bob, as everyone calls him). No one mentiones Robert (Bob) Irwin Sr anymore in this family, though he founded the zoo together with his wife, Lyn. He was Steve's father, biggest idol and everything Steve knew, learnt from his parents.. Sad to see, after Steve's death, Terri took over of everything, many staff members left the zoo because of the treatment they got from her and she doesn't let Bob near her children or the zoo. Bindi and Robert keep doing their fake smiles and sell their lives to the media, living happily, while they don't care about their old, ill granddad (who worked for that zoo, he dreamt it all). They fake. Poor Steve, he's crying above the clouds, seeing his children and wife's disgusting behaviour towards his beloved father, his hero, his idol..
Bob's other children (2 daughters) and their family stayed in touch with Bob and has a same relationship with him as before Steve's death. Terri, Bindi and Robert Jr live for the world, trying to show them how good they are, while they don't care about family, only fame...
today it is much safer in the next segment Steve introduces us to what they use now to nab the crocs The Crate today the Irwins feed the crocs first than they hook the ropes onto them than they pull them into the crate but they still have to jump them while they are loading them up.
1:30 Bindi Croc "hey leave my boyfriend alone I'm going to teach you a lesson." she goes in the water and she is pissed. This is bad when the female abandons her nest it is a sign that she is pissed. Crocodile Hunter and the rest of the team need to get Graham out of there and they need to stay away from the edge because with an angry female in the water someone could get bit if they are not careful. Bindi will teach them a lesson in the next segment she will hide from them.
