GRAM PARSONS Body STOLEN and BURNED In The Desert! Grave 

Jon Corneal who was in International Submarine Band and the Flying Burrito Brothers with Gram still plays shows here locally in Polk County. He holds a Bible study at a coffee shop every Thursday, too. He tells so many great stories, some about Gram..I love hearing them all.

Man, his experiences were so varied, intense. He met and played with so many of the notables in the music industry and and went down so many paths in his short life.

Wild Horses was one of my favorite I never knew that Graham had recorded it I hope I can find it. It must be beautiful. I sure wish my honey was here to see this. The first trip he ever took me on was to New Orleans if we had known that there was a grave site for Gram Parsons. We would have gone and paid our respects with a bouquet of flowers. I have truly enjoyed this thank you so much.❤

Gram's stepmother lived a few blocks from me. I remember meeting his pretty step sister. She had a son named Gram. Thanks for your info. I used to wok in the same building where Robert Parson's had his office.

I remember in 1995 , out of nowhere Emmylou Harris put out a 4 🌟 album Wrecking Ball. Wish there was more footage of her & Gram.

Love Gram! A photographer friend of mine took many shots of Gram. Jim McCrary! He said Gram was super shy! I evacuated New Orleans from Katrina in 2005. I attended a few funerals here.

Wonderful tribute Jordan. A talent that doesn't get enough recognition. I love him and remember him back in the day real time. I also wonder who ended up with his music catalogue that just disappeared? I've wondered if the Eagles were pumping out some of Gram's songs and who knows who else.

Graham had the freedom to live anyway he wanted because he came from a wealthy family, and received a yearly inheritance of more than 100 thousand dollars a year. Back in the early 70's that was a lot of money! Still is!

Gram's father sent them off on the train at Christmas when he committed suicide...tragic! His mother died on his high school graduation day. If these two events didn't rock his world, what would? I attended the JTI 65th birthday celebration for Gram in 2011...the member from Int'l Submarine Band, Ian Dunlop performed and joined in the party. He invited me to his next performance in San Diego but I was unable to attend. There's a group on Facebook that honor Gram, 24/7/365, if that ain't love. One member has a shrine dedicated to him in her home, I asked her to see it and she was gracious enough to invite me. Truly a labor of love, I was not disappointed! The Stones weren't so generous, they introduced him to heroin and Mick was a bit dejected due to the Keith/Gram collaboration. I think they even asked him to leave the house in France. Thanks for visiting him. I hope to one day visit NOLA, we've met at the inn...he's got a fun loving, mischievous spirit. I remember the night he died and where I was...I didn't know at the time, and once I got older, I was fascinated by his story. 🙏🏽❤

Gram Parsons needed to put in writing his last wishes to avoid the confusion and misunderstandings of those last wishes. But in the end the family or whoever did the headstone for his grave did a beautiful job. Very informative video. 💐

My father served in WW2 and had PTSD, and he took his own life. He wasn't diagnosed either. It's a shame that they didn't know more about that back in those days.

I was a fan and still am of the music of Gram Parsons. I was acquainted with Chris Ethridge through his younger brother and father who was an engineer at the local television station. I still have an original copy of the first album of the Flying Burrito Brothers. A fine album that has held up to the passage of time. The music of Gram Parsons is still great to listen to and it’s held up as well. Too bad about his early death because he no doubt had would have produced more memorable music

I didn’t know anything about him surprisingly until my Dad passed. His last favorite song was Hickory Wind by Gram Parsons & we played it at his Celebration of Life after the memorial. I know it was his favorite bc I asked him before he died. No other song. Which Is shocking ftom all the years we know of my Dad over the decades! I chose the one Gram sang with Emmy Lou Harris. It’s a beautiful song. I’m thinking she must’ve had a thing with Gram or just grateful. She was new to the scene & was able to go on to do her own thing / probably due to Gram Parsons. Looks like Gram knew talent when he heard it.

I have always been intrigued to know more about Gram’s personality.

I love the story about he & the Byrds at the Grand Ole Opry violating their rules about his performance of Hickory Wind!! Perhaps you could say Gram was the 1st real outlaw!! R I p &the Jordan!

That day forward I love Grand Parsons and I was so heartbroken when my husband told me that he had already passed. Him and Emmylou Harris we're so good together and I got to see her at the riverfront in Shreveport Louisiana. Such a beautiful voice. My husband would absolutely love your website. So much history. I have a gram Parsons guitar pick when he was with the flying burrito brothers

My Dad was directly on the front lines in WWII. According to my Mom the man that left was not the one that came back. The VA used the diagnosis as Shell Shocked back then. He told her he and some friends went to a psychic I believe in Italy and she told him he would return home but would live a short life and would die on a quiet country road at night in a car accident close to the place he was born. He blew it off. Welll……..I was 4 and due to his drinking my Mom left him and took me. That night he came by and told her he was going to his brothers and wanted to take me. She refused because he was drinking. She even had to call the police who told him if the Mom says no then it’s no. He was mad and burned rubber leaving. He got about 80 miles where he and another drunk did a head on in excess of 80mph and he was killed. The other driver lived with serious injuries but checked himself out of the hospital to attend my Dad’s funeral. Weird! Funny thing is I literally remember everything. Everything I’ve written I can visualize. He died 20 miles from where he was born and is now buried. He left weird instructions on things he wanted when he died. That was honored. This story brought me back to those memories.

Gram had a roller coaster of a ride in his young life. I believe that some people just know that their lives will be short. Gram was one of them that knew he time on earth wasn’t going to be long. Gone way too soon and never will be forgotten.

Jordan I noticed in one of the photos of Gram he is wearing. An Army Air Corps wing and prop pin and Majors insignia on his lapels. They probably were his Dads.

I don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but Gram's graveside neighbor, Delmo Crow Jr., was the brother-in-law of Dr. John. Crow was the brother of Lydia Cecile Crow Rebennack, who was married to Dr. John, aka Malcolm John Rebennack, from 1963 to 1974.

Gram does have a strange story with the body being snatched and attempted burning.

I barely remember the Byrds, it’s was so long ago! Wow the 60’s I was just a kid. When the Byrds were around I was just a little kid I turned 10 in 66. It figures that the Stones stole Wild Horses! Man I was born November 10th, I hope my kid never screws that up! I expect to be cremated, I do not want to be stuck in the ground rotting where my soul will suffer! Well Jordan, now I will have foisted to some of the Byrds music.

Not much of GP fan, but a fascinating story. Have been to the JT Inn and the Rock in JTNP a couple times. The National Park Service does its best to remove the shrine that keeps springing up at the site. For my mind his Real Final Resting Place!
