I've been hoping to find a guide like this. By far, the best Granblue Versus guide online right now (and one of the best for any fighting game I've seen). Thank so much, I'll be using your video to train over the weekend. Would love to see guides for other characters, maybe Ladiva and Vaseraga ;-) Liked and subbed. Can't wait for more
Lovely video, very well narrated and edited. The only issue I found is that it was my first ever contact with a video of this game, and I have no clue what any of the notations mean.
can't wait for this game to be out here, I played in my first tournament in this game last night and because they had the game and I didn't I only won 2 games because I hadn't played since the beta. Hopefully at the next one i'll be able to do better after labing stuff out, I'm thinking of playing a few different characters but I played Katalina last night because she's simple and has really good ground buttons, maybe you should do some videos on her next. I subscribed :)
I don't know if anyone told you or not, but the shortcut specials aren't limited to Light specials, if you use the skill button and press/hold M or H it'll do those versions of the special.
@@raidhyn lol totally understand. But definitely think about doing more, even if it's for another game at some point down the line. I watch a lot of these types of videos and as I said you produce some good stuff.
So is the notation A/B/C/D or L/M/H/U or Light/Medium/Heavy/Unique? I think you used all three in video either in the notes or voiceover, and you might want to standardise. Also put timestamps for the sections of the video in the description? Honestly I don't have any way to play this game so I have no idea why I even clicked on this, but it was a really enjoyable video. I hope you do more!
Hahah you might be right. *nervous laugh* So basically A/B/C/D is interchangeable with L/M/H/U and it's something you may hear a lot of people say because ABCD has been standard for a lot of games in the past made by the same developer. (Most notably the BlazBlue series). Pretty sure I got everything right in the text boxes / description but I'm sure there's plenty of times I say B or D when I should have used the other phrase. Woops :) Glad you enjoyed it though!
Thank you, I'm a real fighting game dipshit (I play a lot of them, I'm bad at all of them.) I only recently came to understand the numpad thing and what it means. I haven't finished watching yet but I'm already picking up on some tricks, so thank you. I'll definitely like n' sub!
I feel your pain. I have no clue what the hell any of the combos or anything else even said. This is typically why I stay away from fighting games, but I do well enough just button mashing Gran lol, and the game itself is super fun, even though I have no clue what I’m doing and none of the guides I’ve found have been really helpful besides basic tips and tricks since I don’t understand that numpad language or whatever it is 😂 I’ll just have to figure it out by myself as I go.
This was super Informative for me. I'm brand new to fighting games (only played Tekken 7 a little with out ever going into lab or anything) But I'm confused on what the number with letters next to them mean? I've seen this in other fighting game videos but I'm not sure what they represent? I'm sorry, I'm just super green when it comes to terminology in fighting games. Gran Blue has become my all time favorite Fighting game.
the combo 5H - 214H - 5M - 236H - 2H - 5U - 2U I'm having trouble with 5M, can't find what's the correct timing to press it. Too early or late both get the combo fail. And keep pressing M is not working because 5MMM - 236H looks like will get the following 2H fail. Also with 2U, I just rarely succeed with this move and can't figure out why I succeeded or why I failed... Any tips would really be appreciated, thanks!
quick question, what is the timing for canceling a special at the end of an autocombo?, I'm having trouble ending my combos with the dragon punch inmput
Didn't forget. Left them out on purpose since they do a similar job to 2L and 2M but while having to link them to avoid going into auto combo, or having to transition from them into other moves. The crouching versions are far easier to use and a lot easier to understand. If I end up making an advanced guide I'll probably go over them.
I'm having mega trouble linking standing to crouching normals in the really basic combos, I'm not sure if I'm pressing buttons too fast or too slow, any tips would really be appreciated..I never had problems with execution in UMvC3 but this is my first return to fighting games but I've played other ArcSystems fighters and didn't have the type of trouble I'm having just getting through tutorial combos
So you basically want to press the button shortly after the 2L hits. The problem you're having is timing. If you press the button and the move doesn't come out you're doing it too fast. If the move comes out but it doesn't combo you're going to slow. The sweet spot to get it to combo is tight and can take a little practice, so don't feel bad if you're not getting it at first. Main thing to remember is that it's a LINK and not a cancel/gatling. You're pressing the next button with a speed so that the next attack starts as the previous one is completely finished. Just mess with the timing until you get it and DON'T MASH. Mashing prevents stuff like this from working. Good luck!
