I can't do any of this... But I love that I now understand what I'm failing at. And will fail at.

this vid is a god send because im rather new to the game (B3) and i went against a high rank lance and struggled to find gaps in his string

NP! It's something I've been studying a lot lately in my free time, and it has tons of crossover to FGs

I could talk about this topic for awhile lol, I struggled with this for so long. But yea, to add on to it, it also comes down to having enough game knowledge and confidence to know that taking unnecessary risk on defense is not in your favor.

Really insightful for me. I wish dlc characters were free in training mode only for stuff like this in like every game. Maybe one day lol
@Diaphone

Yea, but think of the bottom line lol
@blues4509
@blues4509 3 года назад
@@Diaphone but of course lol. Jokes aside I think it would be a good way for people to try characters and see if they really want them too. Free dlc in training room needs to be a hashtag
@Diaphone
@Diaphone 3 года назад
Yea, letting people try the characters out is an interesting idea, there probably should be something like that even if companies are reluctant to give full training mode access

I plainly suck at teching throws. I can block and get out of blockstrings, but throws get me every time.

Definitely learn the OS! Or just jump out/do reversal UOH if you know they are going to throw

I don't see staggered c.5b > c.5b any more with lance, now c.5b > c.5a > f.5b > 214a is still common and is +ob due to rekka spacing, from here I mix it up between 214b and 214a, and also crouching normals into the goat string. But good explanation :)
@Diaphone
@Diaphone 3 года назад
Yea this string was definitely used more in S1. This vid started from a question in my stream. My first thought was.. most lances I play don't do spaced rekka pressure that much anymore LOL. 2L 2L 2M xx rekka seems to be a lot more popular since they buffed his 2M, but it doesnt leave you at a + on block rekka spacing.

Good vid, though afterwards I just lose to better players. Been playing fighters since SF2 hit, but this game only a few months. Matchup missions were interesting. Wonder if anyone else is having trouble.

Can you make a video on using Evade and Cross Over? I feel like whenever I use either one my opponent always beats it, even if I dodge something. I understand I lose the interaction because of the frame advantage of the situation but I feel like I always get better results from just fundamental blocking.
@Diaphone
@Diaphone 3 года назад
That makes sense because just blocking is usually the best option. Crossover and dodge are pretty weak options on defense, which is why I didn't include them. You only really do it VS fireballs , or specific laggy moves. not sure if there is enough content there to make a whole video
