This is a PS2 game that came out 17 years ago, but still looks this good...take a minute to realize that.

@@dirtcrazykid9674 It looks just as good in original hardware on a good CRT too, especially with RGB/SCART. Except maybe for post-processing shaders which can be added on the emulator. Most people back in the day played with composite on low-end TVs and never really experience how good of an image the PS2 can actually push with the right cable and display. Anyway what actually impresses me about this title from 2004 is how good it plays on a wheel. Force feedback could pass as modern, many games (like a certain Microsoft flagship title) don't quite get FFB right even to this day. And it even does 900 degress of rotation.

It’s impressive yes. But, the more cars that were in this game meant that the lack of sounds was present. Worst car sounds in this game unfortunately

@@bradleybaynard5536 true, but for me was a small price for everything else. If we are talking about issues, the biggest onr for me was the AI. Still, I've played the shit out of it

This is exactly how I spent my weekend. Streamed to my mate who played GT4 religiously back in the day. It is wonderful how good the experience is still with a modern wheel.

Great video! I took your videos and PCSX2- setting to get GT4 running right on my new laptop. The game looks good, is totally playable and the my Ryzen9 5900 handles it pretty well :)

Love this car. With a bit of weight reduction, this car actually fun & challenging to take on the JGTC R34. Even in stock condition it's acceleration could bring it neck-a-neck between JGTC's R34, thanks to it's AWD layout and slightly higher HP, but lack of top speed.

The old but Gold GT-4, defined by many as "The last True GranTurismo", despite the past few years defends itself really well against its heirs 👀. It is definitely the last true great gran turismo game. Gt5 was just worse in near on every way, I didn’t even bother with GT6, and then GT7 is just a joke of a game with shit AI, shit ffb on wheel and the most boring events/races of any gt game to date.

I’ve recently taken out my ps2 and brought this ps2 to hdmi adapter for it. Been playing gt4 for about a week now non stop, absolutely love the game. Bringing old times back to present 💯

@@ll_spud doesn’t really upscale to 1080p, ps2 is limited to 480i. True upscale would be an emulator but they’re too much $$$

@@anonymousbullet7407 There are a handful of games that have 480p support. Also emulation is cheap if u have an existing pc. All u need is a decent graphics card. I still have all my original hardware but emulation because u can upscale better

@@ll_spud ngl mate I don’t know nothing about pc stuff, I’ve always been a console gamer. The only problem I’m having is the graphics being very low, would a jailbreak help with graphics on a ps2?

Got a tutorial on how to setup the wheel with PCSX2? I keep trying to find tutorials online, but they never really show the version and or settings for their setup not to mention, binding the wheel to a digital controller just makes the steering aspect really bug out

do u ever get strange force feedback issues on nightly build where it just doesnt work sometimes and you have to keep restarting the game until it works and it feels like its at random if so do you have any tips (im also g29 with ghub open)

@@RowdyGT after a search online it seems a new version of nightly has broken it sadly and it takes me over 10 restarts to get it to work (using the full ps2 boot option seems to make it more likely to work?)

if it ever becomes a problem for you use the method I use turn on non ffb game centering and restart the game until the wheel let's go so you know ffb is on ingame

Did you ever find a fix for this? Just started happening to me, desperate to get it sorted as the game is awesome on a wheel, I just loose all force feedback randomly once every lap, I'm on nightly

@@Tommymkll no actual fix I just had to open it a few times until I knew it worked using the last comment above if its turning off after a lap that's gotta be a different issue tho

yep, pretty sure any wheel is. i use TS-PC racer. t150/300/tmx/t248 should work perfectly too

The actual input lag is not noticeable, I just didn’t do a good job syncing the wheel cam and the gameplay in post

What would I gain by 'faking' the wheel pov lol. I record it through OBS and I remember that this recording had an issue where it would freeze every now and then and go off sync with the footage.
