That is second time when PD updates manual transmission. First time this happened in update 1.25 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bR1wsnYM_YI.html Also, version before is actually 1.34 as this is the last version when it was possible to use garage cars when game is in offline mode (with the exception of LFA footage - 1.40). Also, this time not only cars with manual manual transmission were updated but also cars with sequential shifters like LFA, 8C or Radical. Thanks to Petty Wingman and Ahmad Galal for the tip.
Thanks for the comparison :) Maybe you already know, but the transmissions of LFA, 8C, SR3 and GT by Citroën are mistakenly treated as MT, that's why they got updated, too. Now they sound as if they have a slower semi-AT.
@pedinhuh16 yeah lmao, I have a gr corolla, and it was painful watching the ai rev past the limiter in automatic mode. If you do that in real life the motor will blow up.
@@fourty9933 I'll still continue my habit of releasing the gas at every gear change even after this update. On a controller by the way. No space to setup a wheel.
@@w21aaaaa i actually dont remember but you can harm your engine by doing it, rendering it either unusable or if you are lucky you can still drive like normal but with less power since the engine will be malfunctioning (also most of the time black smoke comes out from where the engine is located).
It sounds like PD forgot to implement throttle cut when shifting up (Most games will automatically block throttle input when shifting gears to prevent the car from revving up, which would blow out the clutch in real life) So it’s nice to see they’ve finally fixed it
@@pedinhuh16 waaay back when, people used to complain about the "sterile" gear changes in GT compared to other games, e.g. Forza or NFS. One idea that floated about at the time was to have responsive clutch and throttle inputs during gear changes for "sequential controls" (as opposed to H-pattern hardware). That is, although still only changing gear with a single button press, the game respected clutch and throttle inputs during the change. This would mean that the speed (and sound) of each gear change was down to the player's input, and not hard-coded / scripted. I quite liked this feature in GT7 - the game "read" your throttle position during gear changes and would basically bring the throttle in early if you were still holding it down. This leads to the comical sounding changes if you're lazy. If instead you carefully timed a throttle lift during changes, you got ultra crisp sounding gear changes with still a hint of variation and character (not unlike using H-pattern hardware). All of which just goes to show, you can't please everyone. And since this game heavily features online competitive racing, it won't be a case of allowing it to be an option. It must be the same for everyone :( Typical casuals ruining it for the rest of us :D
@@pedinhuh16Well, a player like me since GTS, that's where I started lifting off the throttle when upshifting because of this reason like the reply above. The game still reads our input while the game engage the clutch during shifting. After the update, the game just 'turned it off' while still reading our input during gear changes. You can see the red bar there where this is our input.
@@j.marstonhave not have chance to try many cars yet, But overall sports and semi racing silencers sounds cleaner than before and the list of cars i noticed sounds better of the ones i tried was Ford gt 06 improved sound sounds more like a v8 now, Genesis 3,3 improved shifting sound, Aston Martin vulcan, valkyrie and Pagani zonda r has a more aggressive sound now, Those are just a few that comes up in my mind,
And in consequence of this improvement, it also seems the gearing animation is more in sync with the car and not lagging slightly behind every time, like we see at 3:55
They made it automatically let off the throttle for you between gears. I usually just let off the throttle before shifting but this will make it kind of nice.
For me it's irrelevant as I always released the gas to shift and it sounded like this. Now when I want to shift more aggressively from 3rd to 4th for example I can't.
Thanks to this change in gear shifting, Gran Turismo 7 is now more realistic. Unlike Gran Turismo Sport where all cars with manual transmissions shifted like before this Gran Turismo 7 update.
I noticed yesterday making a grind car and thought maybe I was tripping, It helps using this to lower the PP but keep control of the gears to get the top speed you need on leman's, Glad they fixed that delay it's a bonus for sure
I didn't even read if this was part of the patch notes or not, but having driven the LFA every single day, I immediately knew something was different about the shifting💀
I was going to, but I checked both Vulcan and Valkyrie and they sound the same. I also checked some cars with engine swaps (with and without turbos) and still the same.
Ford gt 06 has an updated sound, Aston Martin vulcan, valkyrie and pagani zonda r sounds more agreesive and raw as well Not sure of witch cars has been updated as hole, but exhaust sounds has been improved as well, seems to apply mostly for sports and semi racing.
Shifts still sound a little too fast for my tastes, but still way better than they used to sound. It was always so offputting seeing a vintage manual transmission car shifting gears almost instantly.
@@andreasmoller9798I agree, I think the craziness of the flying cars adds charm, and realistically we all wouldn’t have even tried doing the flying things if we never saw how to do it from big RU-vidrs
Personally, I like the way it was before the update. After the update, it may or may not be more accurate. But now all of the clutch pedal manual shifting cars sounds like the driver is just pushing a button as if all cars are using paddle shifters. All of the cars sound as if they all have a DCT.
No, it's a single clutch paddle-shifted car in game and in real life. Why would you feel the need to "remind" people of something you're so clearly wrong about?
@@Duffers999 I didn't @ you, I replied to the original comment. Them saying "manual" is completely incorrect. Just like calling an SMG in an E46 a manual would be incorrect, even though the transmission is internally the same as the one you shift by hand.
Wow, big update to QoL, it's like getting used to a huge mothership mole on your face, but later you're like, hey this thing don't belong here...! (P.S - some people just leave the mole there like it's nothing). Now they just need to fix the laggy hand animations!
Maybe im a bit of an ***hole but i dont like this add, Is not realistic. Ive always lifted the throttle in manual. They should added damage to the engine/transmission if you dont lift instead if this.
Is it actually on a per car basis? In Forza you can turn on manual transmission but then every car suddenly has a manual transmission. Even F1 Cars or LeMans Hyper Cars ... it's really weird. Same with ABS and TC. It's either on or off no matter the car.
I thought i was like the only person who found this annoying, never thought they fixed it. Now it's forza's turn to make single clutch sequentials actually behave like they should... (Though both games need to give normal automatics an overhaul)
Was this really necessary ? You could literally take your finger off the accelerator when manually changing Gamers are braindead these days I for one will miss this
It's only been 27 years, I have a feeling theyv had the same engine simulation code for the duration. maybe one day we'll hear some overrun sounds between the changes instead of actual silence.. GT is the best and has always been the best all round driving game but their sound composition (not the samples themselves) has always been trash
People have told me about this. I was able to play the game "before" because I have also installed GT7 on my PS4 Pro which currently sits on version 1.34 which is the last version where you can use your garage cars when game is in offline mode.
The MK4 Supra with the Pagani v12 engine swap was okay but it did not match the engine swap for the Mk4 Supra for me, the best highly recommended engine swap for the Japanese legend Toyota Supra MK4 is the 1LR-GUE V10 engine which comes from the Lexus LFA for the legend MK4 Supra it would be more best suitable engine swap for MK4 Supra more than the Pagani V12 engine.
Gran Turismo 7 shifting smoothness and good car sounds like Forza Horizon 3 Hence that Gran Turismo 7 is Forza Horizon 3 without open world (Track focused racing simcade) edit : And wtf the LFA V10 sound it sound similar to the Porsche Carrera GT 5.7L V10 it doesn't sound like the real sh*t Take a listen how LFA sounds in older Forza games / NFSMW 2012
Gt7 has the most accurate sounding lfa in gaming, you proably have no idea what the real thing sounds like, camparing to older games is not relevant to how if sounds now, because in modern forza games it dosent sound as accurate campared gt7, Please do some research before commenting.
@@Lancer9_270 facts are hard to swallow is it. But the fact is that gt7 has the most accurate sounding Lexus lfa, its sound completly wrong in forza, forza no longer have the good sounds the use to a couble of years back, fm specially is really bad.
OMG, LFA sounds horrible! It's a sin. It's not even 2% of what the actual car sounds like. Is it really so difficult to get it to sound somewhat close to the real thing? Maybe the same goes for other cars but I am not familiar with their sounds.
You need to get your ears checked then the lfa sounds very accurate in gt7, proably best in modern gaming, you clearly just comment without any real research. The lfa sounds amazing in gt7 if you say otherwise prooves that you have no Idea how it actully sounds in reallife, time to wake up.
The thing is I have witnessed LFA in real life and the game version sounds not even 1% of it. Heck it is not even 1% of the LFA driving videos here on RU-vid. Maybe it sounds fine in-game to most players but it sounds nowhere like the real thing. And you say "very accurate"? Go play Lexus LFA Symphony of sound on RU-vid and come back if you still think it sounds "accurate".
I have and gt7 one is pretty accurate, so whats you saying is completly wrong, and when no other racing games gets closer than gt7, does not end well for your argument. The tone and the scream is present in gt7 just like the reallife lfa, And the fact that you claim its not even 1 % there prooves how little you know, You proably not even played it, Most people already know how well pd nailed it so what you saying is both wrong and irrelevant.
You are tripping, gt7 is not overated, and its not bad, what its important for everyone can be very subjective, There is not much better you can experince on consoles, and add a psvr2 to the mix and you have something that cant be experinced on any other racing games on consoles. But i guess some people need to come and spread hate for no reason at all. Gt7 still selling like butter even 2 years after release, so what you think about its pretty irrelevant. And as it turns out gt7 is good for many aspects outside of graphics, the put more attention to detail than anyone else on the market, witch makes them stand out,
@@jortepapac is trash on a controller, ac feels great on a wheel, but nowhere near as good as gt7 on a controller, i have both, ac on pc and gt7 on ps5, and neither is better or worse than the other, they both do things good and bad, ac is not the best for causals, not forgiving, require a lot of setup to get everything right, a wheel is a must for ac as it plays very terrible on a controller, There is more to game than physics to, and only reason ac is still even good today is thanks to mods without it, its pretty much not to great.
