It's also just very basic driving strat that most people don't seem to know. Give the slipstream to the person farther away from you.

This race really is a mess. My SR went from S to C in just a couple days from all the random contact, and of course now I'm stuck with all the idiots that are doing it on purpose 😂

I've been watching these videos and practicing a lot. I've finally gotten to being comfortable to driving with no assists at all and then this race just crushed me. I've been trying so hard and I'm on pole almost every race but people just ruin the race really early... You have no idea how comforting this video is, I felt so bad but now I see that I'm actually doing good, it's just I haven't had the luck. Thanks! I'll keep trying!

That dirty stuff happens a lot especially in lower split lobbies. It is still present to some extent in higher split lobbies though, but the higher your rank is the cleaner the races usually are. Keep focusing on yourself and you improvement. If you want to improve yourself - try avoiding such risky combos. My very first races were at Monza and Fuji though 😅 Best of luck!

@@khimaros most of the times it sounds like they nail the sounds for a specific rev range, but then just increase pitch for the rest of the range of the tach. Leads engines to sound nice for revs & under light stress, but slam the gas & shift through the gears & it sounds like a computer generated mess.

It's a shame these were such dirty races. But in a way, it's nice to know that even a pro like Steve can get run off the road repeatedly. I don't feel as badly about spending most of my races in the gravel thanks to dirty drivers.

That’s why you gotta set a time and aim for a 2nd place qualifying lap. It’s probably the best position for that type of track.

I qualified second in one race, I was super excited to get out of the nonsense. What happens into the the chicane? 4th place divebombs me and i get shadow realmed. Fantastic stuff

Yeah that’s happened to me, usually I go for the outside line on the first chicane, I might get passed but that’s fine cause you’ll probably have more of a chance of getting rammed from behind if you go for the inside line and usually you can recover back towards the front. Also it probably depends on your driver rating too but from my experience that’s how I’ve done decent in that race

Great, chaotic racing Super GT! I picked a great week to create an alt. account to race as a visiting American in the EU with. A Tokyo race and Monza no Chicane. I'm gonna have to follow from far behind for a few races just to get my SR up to S, haha. And I can't share a screenshot here but assassins3003 has already been banished down to racing in my lobby with my 3 day old D rated EU account! His SR is still at A somehow.

I haven't played any racing game in 2 and a half months and this race was my first event. Before I've only played like 4 hours of this game or so but I enjoyed your videos so much that I really wanted to play this game again. Before this weekend I was rank D, now I'm B and constantly on pole. I personally really liked the track and the racing, as long as the others didn't turn into me.

I’m not a newbie to racing but just recently bought this for the PS4 not a massive gamer but love watching you race I don’t have wheel set up so just using the controller it’s so difficult. It’s hard to judge how much input to put in. And this is just on a personal level I prefer the low front bumper camera angle but there’s only 4 to choose from I think but apart from that stunning game love it

I have never gotten that much into the GT Sport online scene (I was much more of a campaign player of the older GT's) but I knew what track was in question before I opened the video... the curbing on the corners, the high-speed chicane stops. Monza was always asking for Online play trouble haha

I was doing it with the mercedes amg gt3. Works great because the McLarens can't push you around so easily. Only drawback is it needs the tow to keep up.

I don’t do daily races anymore Steve, just time trial each of the new weekly races to have fun and stay sharp. So over the idiots, who think they are racing for millions. No etiquette these days. I am actually thinking a different game. Not sure what I will do, ACC or Iracing maybe.

The Sardegna FIA manufacturer from yesterday... I had both pole position and fastest lap, and finished in 13th. I got rammed wide and/or spun out at least 8 times. Gotta get out of D class!

Get the slingshot past that Frenchman on lap 1 of the last race. The bump draft only slows you down. The overspeed from the slipstream is more advantageous.

Corner cuts should be relative to the time gained. 1.5 seconds for gaining a tenth at Roggia is a bit much. Slinging Ascari and gaining half a second without getting a penalty makes no sense at all.
