Gran Turismo Sport: Sportsmanship is a Myth 

Im a simple man. It doesn’t take much more than “the old switcharoo” to make me happy

I have a theory that S rated lobbies aren’t actually full of clean drivers, they’re usually full of fast drivers who get S rating by running away at the front in slower lobbies. Then they all get together in the S lobby, have to face equal competition, have egos because they’re used to winning, don’t know how to race clean in the mid pack, and it turns into a gong show. Then they’re safety rating drops, they go back to lower lobbies, win, move back up, rinse and repeat. I’ve had clean races at all levels of SR, I’ve had dirty races at all levels of SR. Just depends who’s in the lobby with you.

The moral of the story for me here is: Better to race K-cars with bunch of idiot noobs than GT cars against a psychopath.

I found when I got to the top level in Forza that I hadn't got past the cheats, I had instead found the very best cheats.

Rank E is likely someone starting a new account and moving through the rankings quicker than the game assigns a proper rating. happened to me on my second account. got abuse for being rank E on pole in a A grid I have raced against German-herman many times and he has been fast and fair

I feel like this is a case of "Oh hey! It that a Super GT? Let mess with him!"

This week it's total S-rating carnage with merely grazing the wall in Tokyo gets you 1.5 sec penalty and points on your S-rating. I went from S to B in just a few races without hurting anyone.

You know, team_venom_BMW was kinda the nicest guy of the video there. You helped him amidst the chaos that was that race with a little bump draft and not going for a savage divebomb, and a little later he conceded his position peacefully. It was a very relaxed interaction, and you were both immensely polite.

It's so sad that the "real" dirty driving is more in the top lobbies than the lower ones... shows a flaw in the system somewhere? Good driving as always, good mix of content in this one - from the trenches to the battlefields!

I've already had the "pleasure" to meet bungabunga72, in the recent FIA rally race that gave all us no points, rather strangely... He rammed me at full speed from behind in one of the last curves of Fisherman track, only to steal 3rd position from me... but Karma is always at the corner, and FIA gave him Ø points, exactly like me lol

Honestly, the penalty system before seemed so much better, now everyone just pushes you out and does shit they can get away with because how lax the penalty system is.

I just started playing GT sport online and I absolutely hate it. I'm C/S and everyone still smashes into each other.

I dropped down to B from S in a single race where people just constantly rammed me (daily race c / F1500 carnage). Few races later same happened again but I got punished to C because people rammed me. This meant my DR also bottomed to B since you are not allowed to have DR A/A+ with SR C :D Great system. Oh well... back to grinding back up, with even more rammers on the road on lower SR levels. Nice.

I swear "CLEAN RACE" is probably just a placeholder text / element that got stuck into that final screen mate xD

Sportsmanship is like brakes, completely optional and only slows you down.

As an italian, i can confirm that is how most people drive. Absurdly fast trough corners, slow during straight sections and always in the middle of the way. and will ram you if you don't play the game. Btw i am an italian

sportsmanship is a myth in every game in existance, unless you can get a full lobby worth of good player friends to join you every time.

i always wonder if the opponents in each race recognize super gt and if this affect their overall fairness during races..

Honestly a proper penalty system to stop ramming people from being an effective strategy is the biggest innovation most racing games really need right now to actually resemble real competetive motorsport.

Sportsmanship rating is a joke. Just like GT Sport itself. It should be hard to get SR. What's the point of having a grading system if you're just gonna give S for anyone that does hardly the bare minimum? Also a damage system that isn't imported from Gran Turismo 2 and drive-through penalties would be so satisfying

Hi, So I do not own GT but thinking about it. It looks like a bit of a SIMS with some game for good fun. Do you have a video about what are these different ratings and what they give you, what are these different groups and what do they do and what you use them for?? Really enjoying you recently discovered channel.

I'm fairly new and even at A/S it's absolute insanity. If they don't bring back contact penalties for 7 I'm out. And yeah, of course it's not cleaner in upper lobbies, it doesn't MATTER anymore.

I now want a grind video, maybe an hour long, of just gameplay of you trying to get out of low sportsmanship lobbies. At the same time, please do not for the sake of your mental health.

Ironic how the Bugatti Veyron, a car notorious for being brutal on its tires and for its gargantuan fuel consumption, goes a whole race without stopping for both.

I pretty much always come last because my main goal is to drive a clean race and in the longer ones not interfere when I'm being lapped.. And yes I still love it just because it's racing

It's interesting to see how the penalty system goes from "3 years in jail for coming closer than 2m away" to "Do you also want a fire arm sir?" in the same game lifespan.

Honestly I hate dirty racers especially if they ruin my race Once I was on pole in ACC and the McLaren behind me decided to use me as a wall to slow down and made me spin twice on the same spot. Apparently there were only 2 people in the server so when I finally got back on track I was behind 2nd place And also apparently in my rage I accidentally rammed him off the track

I was alright last week, then I rage quit the FIA race on Saturday as it was my birthday and I was going to meet people.. Destroyed my rating this week and daily race b this week is great for improving my driver rating but penalty and ram central so my sr went down to B! 😂

COC_PaoloPM is a quick player who races in leagues mostly which is probably why his DR is E

I do miss playing GT Sport after switching to a PC. But man it took 70 races and 5 2nd places to break through and win. I achieved 14 wins, and 161 Followers with my Liverys and Decals within a year. Out of my playthrough i had many times i was chased out of a win getting punted or plain penalty. After getting some wins you realize that the SR is very misleading and encounter those "SR Safe People" and just rub dirt on your progress towards a potential win. Sometimes it's good to be deranked can be a confidence booster as you are getting some wins and then reach back and actually beat a SR+ Race. We all try not to be dirty as of bad breaking points, running out of track real-estate, or very close battles. Some people never lose and ego would get in the way and take a effect on everybodys race. Most people can relate to ego and winning ways once you have won enough times. Just remember you win some, you lose some. Racing is Racing and it can get dirty were all in the heat but stay calm and collected sometimes exaggeration and emotion pollutes our clarity of a race whether getting passed, punted, penalty, or self error. I miss the competitive and Clean Racing. Hopefully GT7 Can drop on pc 🙏
