It was the late & legendary DJ Brian Matthew, he of "Saturday Club" fame, even Sir Cliff Richard turns up at 1:31 & subsequently grabs Hank Marvin's classic red Fender guitar.
Yeah, Brian Matthew. He passed away recently, at the age of 88, only just over five years ago in actual fact. Through having been a DJ since as far back as Rock 'n Roll came along, Brian's voice is well associated with the 1960s pop & rock scene.
Kit Kat and Mars advertising bigger bars!? Nowadays, they’re shrinking before our eyes and kit kat tastes like diabetic chocolate , these definitely were better times! 😋😀
The Dave Clark Five's "Catch Us If You Can" advertising Clarks children's shoes ironically, Derek Nimmo the voice of Gas Central Heating unmistakably, Roy Kinnear & Su Pollard for KitKat bars, Sir Cliff Richard appearing in the 2-minute-long infomercial for the Tellydisc album by his "old mates" the Shadows (as narrator Brian Matthew was originally known as to his radio audiences), Sir Terry Wogan appearing at Alton Towers as well.
13:28 I did remember an advert from 1983-1984 where a female voice went "W-W-W" all the time, and I was racking my brains what the advert was for - and now I have found it. I thought that the advert I vaguely remembered was for WH Smith, or something else that started with W.
I never thought WFLA was an actual thing all this time.. my brother had the 12" club version of this track and always just thought it was a rip off of McLaren's Buffalo Gals not an actual product! Anyone have memories of this drink?
The ad's only 2 minutes long, narrated by the late & unforgettable DJ Brian "Yer Old Mate" Matthew, even Sir Cliff turns round & grabs Hank's red guitar along the way.
