@@vdubing01 mine had two red and one black wire, the black needed to be a ground. Had trouble findings a ground, but finally found one in the spaghetti mess behind the panel. Should have been instructions/diagram that came with your switch.

I tried to get my son to buy that model. Grand Design has parts manuals online, just get the part number and call a GD dealer.

That slider switch came out shortly after I did my video. I have no experience with it, but It looks like a good option.

I don’t think so. I thought the new ones came with “Compass Connect” panel which does not have any rocker switches.

I have the panel just like what you have with the rocker switch I bought the dimmer and everything but I was told since it has compass connect it will not operate

Their is likely a way to bypass the compass connect, and just wire the the lights directly to the switch. But I would not know how and you might keep getting error messages from the Compass Connect app. I would post something on gdowners.com/forum/operation/electrical and see if someone has figured out how to do it.

Note: If you have the newer control panel with push buttons “Compass Connect”or switches with “Lippert OneControl” app controlled module, this solution does not work without significant rewiring. I also have a 1-1/8” control panel adapter, and 3/4” round adapter for some other front cap light switches located in the universal docking station. All these options are reversible and require no modification to the trailer or wiring. These adapters require the long shaft version of the PCA brand dimmers. Sounds like a loose wire/connection if all the other 12 volt stuff works. They use really cheap crimp connectors to wire the RVs. I had a speaker stop working, pulled stereo to troubleshoot, I pulled two other speaker connections loose just troubleshooting it.

I put dimmers on the Main caibin lights, awning lighst, bedroom light and the V Lights. I bought the two inserts for the main panel and replacement switch plates for the other two areas (Bedroom adn V lights)

@@markevert7395 I ordered these from him a few weeks ago. Got them in about 3 days and they worked perfectly. He packages the 3D printed parts and the spade connectors in a little zip lock type bag and ships them in a bubble wrap envelope. Includes two sizes of connectors and even a spare of each size plus a wiring diagram.

My RV has battery disconnect switch. If you don’t have one disconnect the battery and make sure the RV is not plugged into shore power.

john countryman , thats a great idea, my lights would also be affected by the pump when they were dimmed low.

We do too, I rarely use them except when it is really dark and need them to see around the site. Even then I use the dimmer. They now make a switch with a built in dimmer for the V lights. It came out less than a year after I did this video.

@@FLWeekendWarriors I put in "under rig" blue LED strips for seeing a walking path around my rig at night. There is just enough light to see where you're walking but not enough to carry out and disturb others. Over the past several years it seems that people like to light up their campsite all night like a party hall and I just don't understand it.

The dimmer switch comes with wiring instructions. The old rocker switch has two wires one being the 12v feed and the other goes to the lights(load). The dimmer switch has 3 wires. I think two of the wires goes on the load side and just one to the feed(line) side, but I would have to see the instructions to confirm. It was easy determining the feed side, their was jumpers that piggybacked on one another to feed the switches
