Just a note about the dinette. The piece under the window is an ottoman that has storage and move out to the other end. You don’t have to leave it against the window
My husband and I have a 2018 2600RB that we live in full time. Chose it for the size of the bathroom which we love. One negative we found is the lift up countertop is warping from the heat from the furnace. Have to lift it up when the furnace is running.
As owners, 3 things we like, the bathroom, the fact you can access kitchen and bathroom with slide closed, the standard size queen bed. 3 things we dislike/could be improved. - control for A/C is in bedroom and can’t be access with the slide closed, no frame mounted hitch for putting bikes or rack on back, would prefer compressor Fridge
Three things I like...sliding door for bedroom, the pots and pans drawer, and the theater seating. Three things I dislike are...the shower door, the dinette, and the inside colors.
Nothing big and fancy just small and great. I like it! Liking the flip up counter extention, the toilet and shower and the bedroom. Kinda not feeling good about the dinette, covered refrigerator and I do not have a third dislike. Good video guys. Stay safe ya'll.
Please start having will sit on toilet also. He is a big guy so if there is room for him as well that would be super. Haha he made that recliner look small. But it helps with scale . It really does.
well designed.. For the 30 foot length the unit is packed full. bathroom is very nice. I would change the bathroom sink as others mention. I guess a person could move the house battery to the storage bay and properly vent that area. Seems to function well for a couple with no kids, older couple or plenty of space for a single. Very nice.
We're a 5th wheel couple but this is definitely a nice couples trailer. I know i would be comfortable in this. I do agree that the seating on the dinette is odd but for a couple it's fine. Lots of storage in this unit.
You should read comments The back seat is a removable storage ottoman It allows more leg room under table and is used for seating on the outside of table or over by the sofa
Its a couples dinette so the back side was used to just give place to store a automan that you will obviously need for support at the bottom of reclined couch for all those over 6 ft tall.
Matt great job 👍 ! agree with you on the dislike they need to put 2 13.5k Ac units in on the 30 amps my second problem with it is it doesn’t have any insulation for the water lines there next to metal frame and loose I just saw one took apart and was discussed with what grand design did under neath the belly
Love kitchen counter extension. kitchen is great. Love bathroom like theater seats across from tv dislike. dinette table. make it smaller. This is a couples RV (two people). could even make the tv bigger by taking a little space from the large bathroom. No trash receptor place. No need for such a large awning. Especially when you don't have anything extra like an outside kitchen, tv, etc. Make awning smaller. I wish even these lower priced RVs would start putting awning style windows so they can be open even during rain. Also bug screens would be nice so windows can be open without bugs getting in. If it raised the price a little, so be it.
I still like seeing it with sides closed... Incase there’s no room to open out... just for a quick sleep, breakfast and go... can you get to everything?- with it closed? Can you fix lunch with it all closed... air stream has managed it all this time... slide outs are quite nice when staying longer and if a kid comes along. Does the TV tilt down? The recliners look decent for a RV But they need to be wider and taller and more foot length option for the tall people. I’m 5’3” but I love to curl up sideways in my recliner. Recliners and RV furniture in general never looks “durable” and with the price paid for all the flying of a travel RV. People need RV to hold up twice as long as the payment plans. Someday I’d like to see a mother daughter floor plan... I have great ideas if anyone wants to hear ideas from me. Matt... if you ever travel to Oregon Let me know.. I could be a tour guide or give you many of my favorite places to visit... especially the lesser known best places for a family to stay at the Oregon Coast. I’ve lived in Savannah for a minute... but nothing beats the Oregon Coast beauty and the wave power.
ps..... One day they should make a trailer without all the stuff on the top... as in... nothing on top except solar panels and a few easy open two way vents. They need to start making the RVs boon-dock ready... and it’d be nice to see the undersides not particleboard and should be sealed up so there’s no way for vermin to get in and no water damage from traveling down a rain soaked road. Also a minivan ought to be able to tow a basic RV such as this.
We dig it overall! Likes- kitchen is great, bathroom is amazing, theatre seating is the best! Dislikes- carpet, no place for garbage, the dinette is crap. Also, needs a king bed but I understand not having one.
Educate yourself on the features of the dinette It is actually very nice. Plenary of videos online showing it The back is a storage ottoman that is removable
Nice Review Guys.. I have 4 dislikes.. 1. Didn't See any USB ports.. 2. SMALL microwave.. 3. No Daytime Shades.. Keep up the great work.. 4. I didn't see where the outside TV would go (Besides a Table 😁)
Nice trailer, I do not mind the leveling system, but the area around the head of bed needs better area to charge phones tablets, etc... And I know it's an inexpensive trailer but sorry to say it does look a little cheap inside and out I know it has a great furnishings but I don't know it reminds me of the older trailers
I'm really liking this model. LIKE: *Bathroom *Storage *Built in around the entertainment center. Very clean looking. DISLIKES (only 2!): *30 AMP. 50 AMP is an option on other Imagine models but not this one. Must be a reason for that, but I definitely would want 50 AMP. *No option for TV hookup in the bedroom (more of a personal preference because we're TV watchers) Many comments about the dinette. Matt didn't fully explain what the back of the dinette seat is; it's a removable ottoman and quite ingenious. Also, the free standing table (which is in the model Matt reviewed) is an option.
I'm not looking to see if this was already stated in the comments, but the real of the dinette that was mentioned to be for small children is an ottoman that can be removed and placed in front of the recliners or at the end of the table for extra seating. With the ottoman removed, the dinette is a traditional bench seat style.
I agree with y'all's likes and dislikes. Why is it that an affordable travel trailer can have cargo doors that open all th way, but a lot of big high-end rigs only open halfway making you get on you knees to access your stuff? @ I'm 6'2" x 240. LOVE THE BIG BOY APPROVED!
Of course liked the bathroom Like the amount of counter space Like ladder for roof maint Did not like dinette area ...small seating and no overhead storage Did not like small microwave Wish had a pull out pantry
Unlikely he will do that Too much opportunity for him to get in trouble Always do your own research This trailer fully loaded can have a hitch weight of 1100 lbs. add the weight of the hitch. 100 lbs. you are at 1200 lbs of payload before any gear is in the truck or passengers Many half tons, because of all the options, have payloads between 1100-1400 so this trailer would be over limit for them My base Gmc half ton has 1750 lbs payload because it isn’t loaded with options so it could be capable 3/4!ton would be recommended here imo
That oddly shallow back portion of the dinnette isn't actually intended for dinette seating. It's actually an ottoman/bench. It just so happens that that location is somewhat out of the way. You can easily just slide it out put it on the other side of the table or put it in front of the sofa, or even remove it from the trailer entirely.
This is a very nice Travel Trailer. I would buy this in a heart beat. Likes: Bathroom is phenomenal. Excellent kitchen space Love the layout and the cabinets. Dislikes: The power plug in the kitchen is at the sink FAR from where the space is where you would use it. If it was moved to the other side it would perfect. The way it is I would need an extension chord to make coffee running down the sink line, Nope! The dinette works for us but if there is a guest there is no butt room for them. Very strange design.
Wish more travel trailers had bedroom closet wardrobe slides. Like the big sink. In my opinion the reason most rv users don’t use their oven is because of impossible to light pilot lights, not enough height to cook a roast or chicken, and not enough exhaust to stand the heat during warm weather.
Everyone's talking like they don't know about the free standing table and chairs... My 2020 had the dinette before I took it out but it already had the tie-downs for the open set as well. Anyway, 2020 and 2021 pebble interior MUCH more pleasant than earlier.
Love the bathroom love the television across from the Theater seating don't like how the bedroom is unaccessible with slide in wish it had daytime shades
I think Grand Design has the best floor plans overall across their entire line! I agree that dinette is a bit weird. Just make it a booth dinette. Grand design is one of the best insulated trailers in the business. The roof insulation is the best. One 15,000 btu ac is probably enough. I would like to see Azdel used in this trailer. I don’t understand why they don’t. They’re owned by Winnebego which uses it in their RVs.
3 Likes: 1: Nice bathroom 2: Modern cabinetry 3: Theatre seats and TV directly across 3 Dislikes: 1: Weird dinette 2: Bedroom seems a bit tight 3: Tiny microwave
The 3 things I like about this travel trailer: 1. the bathroom: huge shower, plenty of counter space next to the sink, and a 4 P's toilet 2. plenty of counter space between the kitchen sink and stove and the pegs in the bottom drawer to keep pots and pans from moving around while on transit 3. the layout: dinette and a sofa that is directly across from the TV in a RV that is under 30' The 3 things I don't like about this travel trailer: 1. the dinette 2. wish it was 50 amp with the option to put a second A/C unit in the bedroom 3. wish it had electric stabilizing jacks
Manual jacks have more control and people are complaining that the electrics don’t work! I use a battery drill and can set stability perfectly! Also people are having fun with the ridged steps bending the door or themselves and everyone has to wait for final leveling before entering the trailer!
LIKES. Nice cabinetry Bathroom Kitchen with counterspace extension and real oven Dislikes: Dinette A fireplace underneath the TV would have been nice No electric jacks
Grand Design is at the top of our list but we need a shorter one. Like the slam latch doors, wet bay, and all the features of the bedroom. Dislike that it’s not Azdel, no convection microwave, and they could have put a fireplace in that living room with all of the storage in the kitchen.
That bench needs to be wider. Even if you have a narrow backside I don't think you'd be comfortable with it. As a full timer I would like a full sized oven. I like to have 2 ways on all kitchen / bathroom utilities. If you loose power you never have to worry. That bathroom is awesome. Looks roomy enough for full timing. I have to say for the size of this unit I am impressed with the storage.
I love the bedroom the bathroom is fantastic i love the cabinetry I hate the whole middle i want a sofa not a recliner I hate the dinette a table and chairs would be so much better I Hate the carpet
Matt, Will is just an inch taller than me. Please let him do the toilet tests too. That being said, this will be a first for me. I cannot think of any dislikes. I'll just add three honorable mentions where tiny adjustments can be made. Dislikes: #1 Again, that microwave. It's a glorified popcorn popper. It's not big enough to really do anything else. #2 The ceiling height looked a little short. #3 No power stabilizing jacks. I will put my reason at the bottom along with a kudos to Grand Design. Likes: #1 Yes, that bathroom is perfect. Large shower. perfect toilet placement, large vanity. #2 Over all the kitchen is a winner. sufficient prep area and that huge drawer below is a winner. #3 The width of all doors. Very handicap accessible. I think something you might have missed, this appears to not only be a couple's camper but it appears to be designed with handicap accessibility in mind. You can easily roll a wheel chair into the bathroom and also directly up to the bed. The shower didn't appear to have a big step up and can easily fit a handicap shower seat. The only other thing they could have to make it handicap friendly is the power stabilizer jacks. Great job Grand Design for making a handicapable travel trailer.
The transcend version, the 260rb is a much nicer layout. Imagine is aluminum framed which is nicer, but i dont like the new fold up stairs, prefer the ones that fold up underneath
Alas, the 260RB is well over 30', which is a deal breaker for a lot of people and makes some campsites inaccessible by policy (30' is a cutoff). That extra couple of feet can make a big difference on turns and maneuvering while towing as well. Otherwise I agree, it is a better floorplan and also much more usable with the slide in which is something that is important to me personally.
Likes: Large Bathroom, Nice Kitchen counter space, theater seats across from TV Dislikes: TPC roof (want 1-PC fiberglass roof),Too Small Microwave & oven (want large convection oven, no propane oven - drawers instead, no self leveling jacks
I am truly grateful that Will has joined the towable channel! Matt represents me and others at 5'6" and shorter, whereas Will represents those that are 6'0" and taller. Each height has its own challenges and highpoints! Thanks Matt & Will!! And 15k subscribers!@ whoo Whhoo!!
Plan on retiring in 5 years Have decided to do state and national parks first and buy bigger 5th wheel if we love the lifestyle This is what I will be looking for to start my journey
Thanks but gosh 37,000 back 7 months ago. It’s not nice enough for me to pay that much but I guess there are people that do. I’m out of this market until it gets real if it ever does if not I’ll take my tent and use that lmao
Likes: 1. Euro-style cabinetry 2. The kitchen. Great size, lots of storage, awesome sink size, the GIGANTIC pots & pans drawer, decent sized refrigerator for a couple. 3. That GIANT bathroom. I have to add a 4. The home theater seating. Dislikes: 1. Not enough bedroom storage - I want my clothes in the bedroom, not the main living space. I'll want to use that space for additional food storage. 2. The decor - too much brown, and who chose PLAID as a fabric?!?!?! 3. Lack of "convenience items" like electric jacks.
The main issue with 1 AC unit in hot areas is that if it fails, you're done. The place becomes uninhabitable pretty quickly. Love the design. The best place for the bathroom is always at the front or rear.
Love the show, would like to see the interiors of travel trailers with the slide outs in the “in” position. There are spots that don’t allow slide outs extended. Thanks!
I wish they had a second door to access the bedroom, not sure if that slide would block the extra wide bedroom door or not but a second door would be nice regardless
There are cubby holes on both sides of the bed with electric outlets and USB ports. Actually a good design because many RV's, especially towables, if they have a nightstand it's actually out of reach from the laying position.
Likes 1 theater seating 2 great bathroom 3 massive storage space for a travel trailer Dislikes 1 would like to see Azdel in the walls, especially at this price point 2 no storage under the dinette 3 really can’t think of a third Would like to see the posted dry weigh, gross weight and tongue weights in your reviews as it makes a difference in what you may want to get as a tow vehicle.
Likes Counter space in the kitchen Bathroom, size, storage Large awning outside Dislikes Tiny microwave I agree about weird dinette Not prepped for solar
Like this Grand Design couples model, it provides plenty of room and amenities Dislikes: 1) the "u"-shaped dinette, please make it a true U-shape with a removable table that could be used inside / outsides 2) would have liked the 50 amp because I live in the south and need the second a.c. at that price 3) Will forgot to tell Matt to be careful climbing down Love: 1) The recliners and the set up in the living room perfect for relaxing inside with plenty of room 2) good location for the power connect and drain spot, would have been nice to have a storage spot near the rear for the power cord and surge protector. 3) the kitchen design is great with lots of countertop and storage space too
I agree completely on the 30 amp, that was my major dealbreaker on an otherwise great trailer. I’m from Ocala, Florida and need that second AC dearly. Would love to see a review on the imagine 2670MK if one is available!
Enjoyed your entertaining review. This is a great couples trailer under 30-ft with room for the grandkids to sleep-over! We love our Cougar 21RBS, but want both a dining area and recliners. Overall, we really like everything about this trailer, except: 1. No motorized jacks option. This will be a down-grade for us. When you’re setting up or breaking down in the rain, motorized remote jacks are a God-send. 2. TV could have been positioned below cabinets and more at eye level. 3. No 50-amp option. Glad you pointed this out. Now that my wife and I are retired, we plan to spend a lot of our travels in the South. None of these are deal-breakers. Great review, guys!
Likes - countertop space, bathroom and theater seating. Dislikes - I'd rather see a convection microwave and no oven for more storage space. The bedroom doesn't have a space for CPAP, the cubby is too small. Not much storage beneath.
Really liked the rear bathroom. Overall floor plan was good! Unfortunately, too heavy for my truck. Would like to see something smaller (shorter/lighter), with a front Murphy bed, with flip down couch, maintaining the rest of the bedroom design; smaller, j-shaped dinette, slightly larger fridge. Willing to sacrifice theater seats for larger fridge. 2023 models?
This is one of the best looking couple's camper I've seen. It's simple and straight forward, and has a nice clean look. So it's easy to agree with the giant rear bathroom (I'm always a fan of rear baths). I like the great layout in the kitchen, and all the storage space. The big awning is awesome as well. I'm glad they didn't try to squeeze an outdoor kitchen. It's just not needed on this model. The recliners facing the TV is great, even though I'm not much of a TV watcher in my camper. Things I didn't like were hit on my Matt, that the dinette was odd, I'd rather just have a table and movable chairs, there's no need for the extra storage. I don't worry about auto leveling jacks, but that'd been nice. I'll agree with the 30 amp, as stated, is not good enough. This is 100% correct, the camper should be 50 amp. Of course, I've camped in plenty of places that only had 30 amp service. So I couldn't run both my ACs. But in this case, because the bedroom door would, if shut, block you off from the roof AC. I'd prefer to have two ACs. It wouldn't be the first time I've made a window air, with outside plug, that went into one of the bedroom windows (I grew up in Florida, and if you don't have shade, one roof AC will not cut it). Nice camper though, despite these minor things. Oh and I still want a convention oven microwave, always. In the years I've been in a camper (even full time), I can count one hand, the use of the gas oven.
