Game 3 - Same thoughts as Lambo, that was out of character for Serral not to leave that losing game. He has quit far better positions even in finals, and funnily enough, it "mind gamed" herO into thinking he was even with Serral. Serral not playing like Serral tricked herO not to play like herO. There are other games in this finals that are better than game 3, but game 3 is just hilarious.
I watched every game in this tournament... And a common theme was just how many games were lost because one side tried to FORCE the game into ending. Perhaps the biggest example was Reynor throwing the win against Hero in the final game by just pumping units and trying to break him rather than taking an expansion and securing his economy. The lesson of this tournament is the classic phrase, "when you are ahead, get more ahead."
I disagree. This does not apply to Serral. I'd say "If you're wayy ahead agains Serral just go and finish him, because if you turn this into a macro game you'll make more mistakes and Serral will win" - look at game 3 here.
@ThaSPAWN You need to watch the first 2 games to know Serral is going to win 5-1. Although @justyours8766 you should probably put some blank lines after game 5 so that ppl need to click read more to be spoiled by the game count. This series (and the whole tournament) shows that players matter more than balance. Compare herO vs Dark and herO vs Reynor, to this finals. herO was a beast vs Dark and had very good games vs Reynor. His loss to Serral was more his mistakes than anything else. Imagine if herO wasn't trying to take Zest's spot as the King of Throws? I believe that Protoss is the weakest race, but that's mostly in PvT with ghosts. I also believe that if Serral was Protoss, he'd still be top in the world because of skills and not balance. A good example of balance actually affecting the rankings is when Byun won worlds. Reapers were OP and maps were reaper favored that patch. After the tweaks, Byun never reached those heights again.
Serral played great, but I do feel like it was more Hero's mistakes were more impactful. It's like, he was respecting Serral way to much, and basically threw the game at least twice.
True but to be honest that's the case with many pro games where there's high activity and stress - both players are fantastic, so if one makes less mistakes then that player will do better. But Serral's fights were extremely high tier efficient for the most part, especially game 3, where it counted. The air fight where he ultra / fungalled the ground, parasitic bombed the carrier and moved corruptors into the carrier so that the parasitic bomb killed the interceptors was exceptionally good and well timed.
Was this the greatest sc2 tournament performance ever? 3-0 vs Solar (#9 global rank), 3-0 vs Maru (#5), 3-0 vs Reynor (#7), and 5-1 vs her0 (#4) including one of the greatest comebacks of any tournament game.

Harstem! Radhuset is very similar to Rådhuset, which means "Town Hall". It's a very central subway station near Stockholm District Court. The subway station itself beautiful, contains an Ethiopian restaurant. I don't know about the most beautiful in the world though...
Serral is so insane. You think he's losing a fight and meanwhile there's lings doing an ambush or trading off a base. You don't even notice it until all of a sudden hero randomly lost 25+ probes. Or all of a sudden there's a ling surround from nowhere. Absolutely insane.
or get toss buffed. I'm a zerg main, and to be fair, zerg is pretty not balanced especially in lower elo. Im 3.5k with zerg, and I played toss recently, couldnt get past 3k, that shit is hard, especially in the early game

Anyone else sees a pattern here? Serral wins by playing perfect reactionary style on low drone counts, thus forcing his opponents into the playing the same way.
27:06 adepth vs. banelings are very good when split; 2disruptors ONLY used when banes push, either bane retreats twice or die to disrupt, either way fight is lost. love collus, but they are just so bad against anyone with hands to play, too many easy mode counters to collus and even when allowed to stay they just the same as 2 immortals, so they will only carry themselves if 3+ and no spellcaster ever comes from the opponent. or hidden behind walls as anti ling runbby ;P

i hate storm in this game. it just feels bad. i loved it in brood war.. i dono whats wrong with it here, just feels weak. too low range, low damage, and susceptible to emps
@@AlexRamos-ep8zz true, the clunkyness of sc1 was an indirect buff to storm and aoe abilities. in sc2 i end up storming my own zelots way more often, due to my own clunkyness
That game 3 by Hero was more than disappointing. It was pathetic. It was like diamond player vs a pro. If I was unable to win from that possition I'd quit SC2
I don’t get how this game is balanced at all, most fights Serral face roll banes into everything, archons, nexus, ff and the trade is always good enough. All-in? What’s that for Z? The game is viable regardless of how badly it’s executed because P has no confidence walking across the map. Late game is utterly hopeless as usual.

It’s really annoying as a VOD watcher who is a couple days behind to have who is in the final spoiled in the title. If I’m going back thru the vods I can’t exactly avoid looking at the title. Not sure what the best solution for this is, maybe a separate VOD channel. But just thought I’d voice this in case there’s anything you have ideas to improve for next tournament.
Funny as all other top zergs lost to hero and got owned by serral. Zerg gets nerfed again and again and the only one who ever comes close to this type of performance is serral.
While it’s true that toss is the weakest race at pro level, if you compare the play of serral and hero it’s quite clear that serral makes less mistakes. Hero is the best toss player, but he’s super inconsistent and makes weird mistakes. I agree that toss needs a buff, but the balance team would have to be very careful. Protoss performs very well at all levels except the pro level.
right. look at game game mechanics. multitask and use capabilities = toss play, while need more multitaks, but less capabilities (storm, fields, oracle, and e.t.c - zerg - vipers, ravagers, queens? t- steam, burrow mine and siege ?) clearly the protos are 40 percent weaker than the other races nothing to slow down the sentinels have little range any army comes and if it goes wrong it runs without consequences sometimes I feel like playing Starcraft but I remember that the protos are trash and that this is a dead game What dies more with each balance is that they are poorly made for the protos to work you have to break them and make them again they removed the small mother ship the only unit that slowed down I never understood that change for a pro a final against toss is easy money, how disgusting of game
