Dude this was actually a dope series. If you just look at the end score, it'd be easy to assume that Serral just dominated every single game, but that doesn't come close to telling the whole story. Don't get me wrong, Serral clearly had the upper hand most of the time, but every one of these games was waaayyyy more evenly matched and hard-fought than I had expected. Serral is still undoubtedly the best in the game. But MAN does Clem ever look good, especially over the last half year or so. He has really established himself as one of the greatest Terrans of all time.

i have never played sc2 but i have watched this game so much, mostly on this channel. Lowko makes these games more interesting. i like zerg a lot more than the other 2 and serral is my fav. thanks for these interesting videos.

The reason Terrans don't make ravens is very simple: The Raven is the most intelligent form of Terran robotics in existence. There is a very real possibility of them taking over. It is the same reason Terran manufacturers stopped building them with explosive devices and point defense. To mitigate the risk of robot domination, they only bring out a few ravens at a time, and only when things are absolutely desperate. edit* also good Terran generals like Clem just psychically predict where infestors are gonna be.

Blizzard: makes an anti-Serral parch. Serral: evolve and adapt, as a true zerg always do.

Thank you for uploading in 4k. Didn't realize how big of a difference it made until watching this after watching the same match on SC2HL yesterday. Creep and massive fights are actually visible! For those interested. Finnish military service is between around 165 days, 255 days, or 1 year (depends on what role you get assigned). You can request a couple of ideal roles, but it is not up to you whether you get your preferred role or not.

Game 3 was just insane movement from Serral, only losing 1 drone to the Liberator, but more importantly, hiding all of his roaches repeatedly while being harassed on the edges of his creep. Clem didn't see how many he had until they were literally at his doorstep.

I ask myself every single TvZ why not just buy one raven. Save an infinite amount of scans and how does Z ever kill it? Maybe a grab. I just can’t wrap my head around it. You’d get so many more miles.

I absolutely love watching Serral but it's even more enjoyable, when a player pushes him to bring out his best which Clem certainly did. Well played to both players. It is going to be a very interesting 2024, when two of the top Zergs, go missing for a while 😀

On Radhuset Station Clem was clearly anticipating mutas based on him building missile turrets in his natural and third. No idea what he saw to make him change his strategy and turtlling up but it was clearly a misread.

I know for fighting games, a double elimination format means that whoever makes it to grand finals on winners side has to lose 2 sets against the one on loser's side. So if you're plaing tekken, both finalists are at a score of 0-0 and if the one from loser's wins a first to 3 set, they have to play ANOTHER ft3 and whoever wins that take it. So winners side just has to win 1 set while losers has to win 2. Its like Lowko said with the players having two lives. But because winners side didn't lose their second life yet, it carries over with them in GFs. But no way that would work in SC2 because two ft7s or even ft5s would take way too long.

Playing a zerg in this game must be so frustrating, mere mortals constantly being nerfed because of Serral

Watching a Serral macro game is beautiful, dude looks like he's the Overmind from SC1. Contain the enemy and send wave after wave of zerg until they crumb under the pressure. Amazing series and amazing cast as always!

Serral should deny the finish military draft. It’s ridiculous. He will lose a lot of skill after 6months isolation.

Having an outright 1-0 advantage at the start of the series is unique to starcraft as far as I’ve seen.

Regarding the Ravens, I agree with you since years of you calling for them. To the point it could make me doubtful. If top terran players don't do it, it's not that they didn't hear you. It's that they tested it, and it backfired spectacularly? I believe the raven being neuroparasited and used for an anti-armor missile + turrets on terran army is a bad scenario for Terran. On the other hand, why would you keep energy on your raven if its main purpose is to be a flying detector? In the end, it just sounds like a good Lowko idea, and I just keep scratching my head.

In fighting title games like tekken the upper bracket (winner) finalist gets a twice to beat advantage. Short explanation/analogy best of 7 game, If the upper bracket (winner) finalist wins the best of 7 tournament is over if upper bracket (winner) finalist loses the best of 7 another best of 7 is played and whoever wins that will win the tournament.

What I'd really love to see is a unique ability for drop-erlords to enable Zerg drops. Toss get their crazy load mechanic, Medivacs can heal and boost to get extra speed; maybe drop-erlords can get some sort of activated ranged deployment ability that lets them unload at range 7-8? Make them spit out a drop-pod thing that also gives a 2x2 square of creep? Could open up some interesting drop options for Zerg, although it'd probably need to be accompanied by something that gives Viper or Infestor a lower skill ceiling, to keep Serral and the like from ruling the game even more than they do already.

I went to the Las Vegas F1 grand prix, it was super epic and a once in a life experience that I'll tell my children ans grand children of. I ended every night of the weekend with a good Ole Lowko video for the icing on the cake lol

Finnish military service is about 6, 9 or 12 months depending on your branch. Some athletes get special treatment with much more free time to practice what ever sport they play. Not sure if StarCraft counts tho 😅 It also is indeed mandatory for all men.

I didn't know who'd win, but .. looking at the length of the video.. there's no doubt ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Let me bring back the times of TB doing SC2 stuff and extending his videos to make sure they don't spoiler stuff. You see a video going on for another 40 minutes but MAYBE the match ends way before and the rest is just a filler. For important (and Bo7) stuff that makes a lot of sense I feel

They didn't nerf zerg they buffed them...mainly Vipers & Ultras. The fungal nerf was needed for years and banelings shouldn't even exist. I would even go to say zerg has no business having fungal growth...its basicallly storm with a stun and vipers now get unlimited irradiates & abduct. Just because the losers haven't figured it out serral solar and dark are killing it right now. Also, Ravens are too f'in expensive. If they cost less than a medivac then they'd be worth it. The medivac is just better to have considering the Vipers counter every thing.

I do not play sc2 however from my perspective it looks literally impossible for the teran player (not sure how to spell it). Zergs look absolutely over powered. I don't know if it's just because he is number 1 in the world or if it's because that race needs to be tuned. Even in the game teran won, it didn't look convincing to the average player that it was inevitable for the win.

I honestly believe now that top level terran are throwing. I've been saying for years now that one raven would pay for itself 10x over against serral. He literally goes ground army for 20 min and the only thing that keeps him alive is imba creep and fungal. Yet every terran refuses to make one single raven and then walks their army into infestors. Terran could literally clear creep with a hellion hit squad every early game against serral but no....Lets pretend to save energy for meaninglesss scans meanwhile getting annihilated by a single spell. If your gonna make 15 command centers....then fucking use the energy to mine out your opponent instead of scanning to take out upwards of 3 creep spores. Pretty sure anti armor could be useful against ultras right?? No, lets get fungal'd over and over again and hope SERRAL doesn't have banes and lings..

Clem is easy for Serral to win in long series, like best of 7. He usually plays like a god in the first 2 games, then gets too tired afterward

In DotA, the upper bracket winner only gets the advantage of not having to play a series as the lower bracket concludes before the finals. I think that's a better system as they might have to play the full series.

The 1-0 advantage for grand finals is an interesting way to do it, and I feel like it makes sense considering the game. In fighting game tournaments, grand finals is a best of 7 format as well. The difference is: the competitor from the winner's bracket (like Serral) would only have to win the set once. The competitor from the loser's bracket would have to win the set _twice_ Of course, a standard fighting game match lasts a few minutes. A SC2 match could go a half hour or more--I've never played SC2, but I imagine it's very physically intense. Anyway, the point is that the 1-0 advantage seems like the best option for a game like SC2, given how long the matches can last

The alternative to giving one point to the upper bracket is doing it like homestory main event, one best of five, then one best of three. Last year, Serral won against Clem in a that finals of homestory. A back to back best of five might be too much for organizing the time of the event. Anyway, the "worst" case for a winner coming from the LB in a format like HS Main is 3-2 and then 2-1. Which is 5-3. If that's a best of 7, you can look at it as giving the UB winner one point, so it sort of a short cut of double elimination.

I’d be curious to find out if there are exceptions to the mandatory military service thing, purely based on wealth. Maybe it’s not fair to compare it to a volunteer only military nation; but in the US if your independent wealth exceeds a certain amount, they sometimes use that as a reason to make you ineligible for service enlisted side anyway. I’m guessing that because those with a mass of wealth end up not being keen on taking orders when they don’t agree with them, or end up saying “fine discharge me, it’s not like I need this job”, something to that effect. Probably a different story when the presentation is “look we don’t care how much money you have, you owe your country this service or you can go to jail”.

Fighting games tend to use a bracket reset in their double elimination tournaments. So you play a normal Bo5, and if the winner's side wins it's over. But if the loser's side wins, you get a bracket reset. You do another Bo5 with all scores set to 0 (doesn't matter if the first set was 3-0 or 3-2). And whoever wins that wins the whole thing. It's part of the idea that you're only out after losing 2 sets, and it's always hype seeing the bracket reset even if the underdog still has a long way to go

Having a one game lead by coming from the winners bracket makes some sense. With Halo, if the team coming up from the losers bracket wins the 7 game finals, they do a second 7-round grand finals to give the top team an extra chance to win. It's also kinda like how the team with the best record in major professional sports gets a Bye week in playoffs, or home field advantage.
