FINALLY! Power reserve on the obverse, spring drive, under 12mm thick. Oh, limited edition. So they know what we want but refuse to give it to most. Gotcha.

There are non limited editions of this movement and thin cases, plenty of thin watches at 37mm also now. Furthermore a 1000 piece limited edition from a brand only producing 30k watches a year isn’t so hard to get so if you like it that shouldn’t stop you from buying it

@@hammalamiri12 I have a watch from them with less than 2000 pieces. I understand, but they need to build their brand, in my opinion, on refinement. They are too good of a company and they could take over the entire industry. I am rooting for them and I love Seiko.

Most people would not sleep with this watch on so, the power reserve on the back makes good sense. You would probably wind the watch prior to putting it on for the day.

You are so right about the thickness. This does not need to be any thinner. I just wish they made this with an actual modern bracelet as well that has toolless micro adjustment, black dial. That would probably be the perfect GS.

They are edging closer and closer to using better steel, movements, straps , claps and bracelets but be prepared to pay 10k - 15k for that perfect GS

A factory bracelet exists, I use one on my non limited SBGY011, it's meant for a different quartz model but uses the identical 44GS case

@@hammalamiri12 theyre trying to up their price on their new GS models but its failing so some went back down to normal GS prices. one of their watches released for $7100 after conversion. Checked months later and all authorized dealers in japan lowered the price to $5500 new

It's refreshing to see a GS with a fairly simple dial! For the power reserve, I'm not too bothered about placement when it's a manual-wind, but for an automatic there's no point having it on the front because it mostly just points to Full.

I have this exact model. The thinness is perfect. I have a flat wrist and it sits very well. On more rounder wrists like yours, it looks more like a flying saucer. i wish they would make a version of this but closer to 37mm or below and 100meter water resistance. That's why i chose this one but it is 40mm.

I’ve always thought the dials look better without the reserve. But as an owner of a GS with the reserve on the dial (sgba469), that quirk grew on me over time where now it’s a feature and not a bug.

I personally like the power reserve on the dial. I rotate watches for work so it is nice if I can pick up and go.

My spring drive has the power meter on the dial but for this manual wind, it makes sense to have it on the movement since you will have it off the wrist to wind anyway, which is only every 3 days. Great images as always! Unfortunately can't enter the spring drive in the upcoming HSU accuracy challenge.

Power reserve on the back is so much better. You look at it before putting it on and crank the crown if needed. It has 5 days of power reserve so it's not like you need to look at it during your day.

On a no date the PR in the back is better, especially with a mechanical movement. With a date on the dial, i dont mind the PR on the dial as its mostly well integrated on 3 hands watches. I was considering that model, but ended up with the Shunbun 2 weeks ago... Mainly due to the more sporty and more durable ( bezel less ) case of the 62gs. The problem with 44gs case is it will scratch quickly if you wear the watch often, and there's no ss bracelet unfortunately on that model.

I definitely prefer the power reserve indicator on the back side of the watch. It being on the dial is a deal breaker for me, personally, as I don't like the aesthetic and adds clutter to otherwise flawless dial designs from Grand Seiko. Another point on that, when you're checking the power reserve most often is when you don't have the watch on anyway, and you're picking up the watch & want to know whether to wind it before putting it on. So it's not really an inconvenience to have the power reserve indicator on the back-side!

The dial is beautiful but I don't like this particular case. The lugs look like airplane wings. They're way too wide imo.

When you have a full base plate covering the movement, I'm not interested. The Germans already push the limit. I get it's a spring drive and it may look weird

Rolex makes hidden movements that are accurate and reliable with a service interval of 10+ years. That is what I,and I think most ppl, want. If GS did the same and made more ergonomic bracelets, more ppl would buy them.
