The zaratsu polishing is so good that I can see Tim wearing a mask, on the watch itself, having tried one at a boutique recently, it's a really nice watch, and it wears small for a 44mm

Love just about everything about this, aside from the size. I have plenty of large watches, but would love to see this in 40mm. At this size I’d likely go with the Blanpain 50 fathoms.

just got mine the other day…i loved it before i saw it in person and its only better in hand/on wrist honestly. may be my favorite-tho arent they all when theyre new? lol ill have to see how i feel in a month or so but as for now id say its tied with my moonwatch moonphase for my favorite in my collection

Wow I was about to ask you which other watches you have but you mentioned two out of five watches that I am looking into lol. In your opinion which should I go for: Glashutte SeaQ Panorama Date, Omega Moonphase Moonwatch black dial steel bracelet, Omega Planet Ocean GMT black/white bezel, Grand Seiko SBGJ237 or GS SBGE277. Just so you know, this is my first luxury watch and I listed the watches in order of my preference this far. Thanks!

But with a bezel the dial doesn’t look too alarmingly big. I think on a dress watch 44 would look too big on anyone but on this style i feel like it would be okay to wear even with smaller wrists.

Handsome, different and a proper mechanical watch. But 44.2mm diameter and 14.6mm height is very very large. And unlike Blancpain I fear it is because they can't make it smaller, rather than a design choice.

Patrick Daly They have some smaller ones but not in the Sport collection, and I think they’re all 10 bar water resistance. Heck, this thing is only 20 bar. If it was an Omega or a Rolex it would have had at least 60 bar at this size.

@@FFL3001 Look again. SBGE253/255/257. Sport Collection. 20 Bar. And that on a GMT. Complaining about 20 Bar on a GMT is hilarious to me.

@@patrickdaly5988 The SBGE253/255/257 uses Spring Drive movements AKA Quartz-Hybrid. 20 bar on a GMT is good, but not on a 44.2mm/14.6mm watch. Now it looks like the bezel on this GS flares out a bit so it could probably work well as a 41-42mm, but 44.2mm is difficult to justify. It's hard to find a direct comparison. The Rolex GMT Master II is at 40mm / 12.5mm but only 10 bar. The Omega Planet Ocean GMT is 43.5mm and 17.5mm thick, but it's at 60 bar. An earlier Omega Seamaster 300m with GMT came in at 41mm and 13.6mm and of course 30 bar. I guess that would be the benchmark.

They just announced the SBGE275, a frosted white dial GMT very similar to this but powered by Spring Drive. It looks incredible to my eyes.

@@ProfessorPesca I ultimately went with the Ball Hydrocarbon with black/green sapphire bezel. Once I got my hands on the Ball Roadmaster GMT, I wasn’t a fan of the gmt pushers or how the tritium tubes are laid out to make the numbers. I absolutely love my hydrocarbon and made me a Ball fanboy for life. I still love this watch but it’s a serious amount of money. If I end up selling a higher end piece from my collection, this or a zenith defy would be at the top of my list.

for a rolex a 42mm explorer II is the biggest I could pull off, but for seiki/gs the 44 case actually wears surprisingly well.

They are catering to the biggest market ...Asian Market who still like large/huge watches but Seikos do wear smaller than specs.

Definitely it wears smaller than the 44mm described size. On the wrist I would say it’s pretty similar to an Omega Seamaster 42mm.

I say it again. The placement of the date at 4 o`clock is just horrible and so wrong! Why?? And why date at all??? Another thing, who really needs GMT? One in a million?? Other than that the watch is beautiful!
