That was an FCA-designed product, not a Stellantis-designed one. The FCA designed wagoneers are pretty solid apart from the painful launch of the first model year.
The "Hundred Grand Cherokee" strikes again ! NOTE: Last week someone finally got that 4-door 92 Ford Tempo running again, that was parked on a street near me for over 10 years. So a 30 year old Ford that has been sitting for a decade is more reliable than the "Hundred Grand Cherokee" !!!
Remember Randy's jeep? Screens bricked, adaptive cruise failed, and the lane keep assist snatched the wheel out of his hand so he sent it down the road
All the sensors, semiconductors and computers that are needed for the bells and whistles people don't need (adaptive CC, lane assist, park assist, 360 degree camera view, push-button start, automatic emergency braking, etc) make these cars electronic nightmares. One bad sensor or semiconductor can throw off a bunch of things to such a degree that the car becomes undriveable. Plus, all the electronic stuff drives up the price of new vehicles. People were better off in the 90s when the only "hi-tech" features were abs, power windows and fuel injection.
@@John_Caravella A 2013 Infiniti M has adaptive cruise control, lane assist, 360-degree camera view, and push-button start and it's very reliable and is not an electrical nightmare at all.
I think you are right that the CEO is on the way out since today Jeep announced that the Wrangler 392 is sticking around until 2025 when originally 2024 was the last model year. There is basically no way the CEO approved that since it goes against “no carbon credits bought” Also it may save the Hemi since by 2025 the current administration may very likely change allowing for V8s to start to come back more.
Hard to believe they have the gall to sell these as premium model SUV’s when all they are is an overpriced paperweight! The patience of some of the people who bought these vehicles hard to believe!
Brother I'm an electrician for the time being at Jefferson North. That's where we make the Grand Cherokees and Durangos. It's everyone. From management to labor. Nobody in that place cares outside of a handful of us. After 5 years I had my fill and accepted a new job in a different industry, far from the UAW. It's really sad. If folks knew what went on in those plants, you'd never buy another UAW built vehicle again. Buyer beware UAW made cars.
I was at a CDJR dealership today getting an oil change on my Redeye. Walked into the showroom and talked to a salesman. He really did not know or want to discuss the details of the Stellantis demise. I told him the Grand Wagoneer on the showroom floor was a lemon. It was a huge dealerhship with at least 100 Jeeps. His comment was that someone would come in and buy them. I just nodded. Told him the Hornet on the showroom floor was another dog that nobody could give away. He agreed and said no demand for the Hornet. Amazing to me that they had a grand total of 1 Hornet in inventory. Proabably had 600 cars on the lot. Don't know how the management avoided the Hornets that Stellantis was pushing but they did. Guess I don't understand the allocation system because this dealer always had HC's Redeyes, and varrious SRT models. Still had them today although many are used and included 2 OG Demons with 6-9K miles that they needed 130K (or more) for. Good luck.
Ummm, not sure what going into someone's workplace, and reminding him to his face of all the things that make it suck, accomplishes. Especially when so many people's jobs are on the line due to their sorry managements' piss-poor planning and failed execution. I've been that employee on a sinking ship (in the banking world). It doesn't feel good.
Silly thought but did they ever thought of changing the battery of the key? My brother-in-law had the same problem with his New Suburban. I suggested to change the battery that is in his key and he did, problem taken care of. Maybe they can start with that. Just a thought
I feel for the family who bought that Grand Shagoneer! If you wanna get shagged and worked real good, go see your local CDJR Dealer! 😐 I guess comparing reliability between Jeep and Range Rover is an entertaining exercise, but I have heard that Range Rover does have the edge in service, and that's why RR has a loyal clientele.
It is absolutely criminal that this person paid over 100k for what is now a paper weight AND that the dealer/Stellantis have no idea what to do with it.
I spent 25 years as a programmer. I have been into code that was off-shored for a while and then brought back. It will take Chrysler engineers a long time to straighten it out.
When I first saw these I thought I’d get one for half in a few years. I’ve had an old school grand wagoneer (in the 80s). The more I see about these the more I am convinced that their residual value is close to zero and I won’t be getting a used one, ever. The only things the two vehicles share are size and comfort. That’s no use if it won’t start and you can’t fix it yourself.
I had rented a Grand Wagoner from Enterprise in Philadelphia, the car was running when I got it and I drove it off the lot. When I turned it off, the only way to start the car was to press the start button with the key fob itself and it took multiple attempts for it to start. The Passive entry wouldn’t work, see it was turned on in the software. And one time after starting it and beginning to drive, the car just slammed itself into park, applied the Emergency brake and the screen said no key detected. At which point I just returned it for another car. It was pretty sad that such a nice car works so badly.
Maybe if they asked the Koreans that made the chips that runs the wagoneers if they would talk kia into buying jeep they might burn you hose down be atleast it runs. Said the old man in sack cloth with the sign the end is near for stellantis from the ozarks .😊
We were told the send back failure rate was the same for the Grand Cherokee and the Wagoneers. They don't care because they got their money and now all of the effort, aggravation and grunt work is all on the shoulders of the consumer. We are still waiting..bought 5/2. We could have been killed or killed somebody else driving it. They just don't care.
If that busted Grand Cherokee is located in Auburn, Washington it was broken by the customer after they realized they bought a piece of over priced 500 credit score shit box...
2 things......sabotage from workers knowing there career are done...don't want to think that. These workers for the most had pride in there workmanship Or cheap inferior parts they had to install in the building process
Soon everyone will just switch to honda ford or gm ! Gm will still be my #1 choice because they are more standerdized and have always had a lower cost of ownership !
The. 400 durango v6 cop cars those oil coolers were scrap not to be used, there 47 in the crate that came from china not to be used only tested. But theres parts and they used them insead of the regular .mexican oil coolers, indiana spent 25millon for junk. Anti freeze in oil by by engine 39 engines and labor = 2.5 millon and pissed off Ag in indiana.😮
Purchasing managers chasing the lowest cost part have cost US companies billions. Their bonus is often incentivized by how much they "save". They often don't listen to the feedback from manufacturing or the engineers expaining that a particlur item is driving the "Total Cost" through the roof via off quality, scrap, reworks, and returns. Engineers should make parts selections and then let purchasing negotiate terms. Nothing wrong with exploring an alternative and lower cost source but it has to be thoroghly tested and not a mandate from purchasing. China is notorious for bait and switch and is a horrible supplier. The intital batch of product to be tested will be fine and then subsequesnt shipments are garbage. It's happening every day. Then trying to negotiate for the losses incurred is impossible. You bought it and your stuck with it. But......purchasing "saved" a nickel per untit. Ultimately its a complete failure by top management that has no idea what's happeing on the manufacturing floor.
Same happened to my 23 Wagoneer L. Came off a family vaction overseas to a dead suv...nothing worked and was stuck in the parking deck at orland airport. Wagonner client sent someone to jump the car which worked but the car could not hold a charge and car went completely dead as soon as we got to our hotel in Orlando. Cut too we had to get the car towed to nearest dealership in orlando because we live in Jacksonville. They had to replace both batteries the main and aux completly dead. As we leave the lot the check engine light and oil level light come on. Turned around and brought the wagoneer back just to be told it was due to a software update and that it could be serviced at our dealership back in jax. We make it to jax and take it to dealership here for check engine light, which they clear but couldn't tell me what coded to cause it. Cut too again now the seat and U connect profiles do not save and seat randomly moves to awkward preprogrammed positions that we never set. So bad that it almost folded/squished my wife when she was getting in the truck one morning for work. Called wagoneer client and they say it was due to not linking the key fob (wrong) Finally bring it back to the dealer which At first they tell me it was resolved with a hard reset. Luckily I called BS with the service manager and tech showing them the that seat and memory profile issue still exist as well as several connect features not working. They then have to call a team called star to now replacing the entire computer in the wagoneer. Car is still in shop. This started in MARCH 24 and is still not resolved. I have never been to the dealership this much with a car ever. Brand new truck and it stays broken never again

They do their research by researching how many buttons it has and watching youtube ads. I am with you, they are witless halflings, stupid rich or not. Stay gold.
