I love this one. I am too lazy to do the cooking fillings on-the-stove top, recipe! lol! I am making this one now. A blesssing to see kids being very respectful to their grandmas and want to hang out with them in the kitchen! Grandma Stella is a sweetie! God bless your heart! Wish I could've done this with my grandma. She passed before youtube was around. I do have my memories with her, but not for the future generations. Photos will have to do.
I did it. I sat and watched your grandma make an apple pie. I sure hope she's doing well. I miss mine every single day remembering her in the garden and the kitchen and making yummy stuff.
I'm glad I heard her say that she uses tapioca instead of cornstarch or flour that's what I was always taught but I think the tapioca would be much better to thicken the pie. Also taste better. Thank you grandmother God bless you my grandparents and mother is already passed, very Sad.☹

I LOVED THIS! I’m the designated apple pie maker in our family and I love to see different methods folks use. Grandma Stella’s kitchen reminds me of my mom’s and I love that giant range. And I thought the idea of using the foil to bring the dough together (although I might use plastic wrap because the foil crunching made my teeth crazy🤓. I usually use about three or four different kinds of apples, which breaks all the rules, but I just like mixing it up. And, I think that’s the fastest pie dough roll out I’ve ever seen...bravo! What a blessing this video will be to future generations. ❤️

My mom would make extra pie crust and roll it out brush it with milk and butter sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon place on cookie sheet and bake it. She called it pie crust treats.We always begged her to make extra dough.
......I love that pastry cloth she has.......I looked it up on eBay.....and they sold for 1.98! Now they are 25.--30.00 dollars.....nice! Love the video

Your Grandma Stella is so cute. I loved her style, nothing is wasted. Everything is used properly. She also maintained her kitchen very clean. I recently been using tapioca for my pie as thickening agent, although I grind my own and measure the amount I put in the pie. But I liked your Grandma Stella's style, she's like my mom just eye ball everything and it works. Send my regards to your grandma. Loved the crucifix with Corpus on display.
A pastry blender:) and looks like butter crisco;) Also I think a piecrust came out great it’s just hard to do something when you’re under pressure and somebody is videotaping you. 😉
Very sweet! suggestion to make life easier for her: parchment paper instead of foil. The bake cloth she uses really is old old old school and endearing now we go directly on marble or granite because it holds the cold. Most of use do not use lard. Lard is very underrated and great but most of us use butter and shortening and or lard for the crust. I think your grandmother is a gem.
I think that tool at the beginning was a pastry blender and there's also a big flat bladed one called a pastry knife or cut tter I think and you're right it was very old. It was probably older than he was cuz it was made of wire and they're usually made out of stainless steel now. If you're worried about it browning too much around the edges people put little strips of foil on the edges when they bake it. Use granny Smith and gala apples I think, but never red delicious.
Hey Nicho....Im guessing you produced this video...gr8t job. I love your Grandma......I hope you bake too.....my brother is an excellent baker.....Those apples sound so crisp & yummy...that it actually makes my mouth water to hear Grandma slice them...:0) I'm thinking that your Grandma probably grew up with her mom using "lard"...and she still calls Crisco lard. My Grandma died @ 103 and only used lard for ALL her cooking needs.
