This is why synths are so cool. One by itself is just okay, but you start chaining them together... and... THEY'RE ALIVE!!!!

Thanks for the video. I purchased a Grandmother and Mother 32, but can't find any video's or literature about linking the two synths so they can communicate with each other. Grandmother arpeggiator - clock in/out/start/stop, and the Mother 32 sequencer. It's hard to know what all the options are when there's no information about the basics for this topic. I watched a video on the creation of Grandmother, and it was mentioned it particularly appeals to musicians who aren't synth tech savvy (me) , yet the manual doesn't include any examples of linking the products - mother 32, DFAM etc; it only mentions that it's possible. Also, including examples/idea's for the patch cable system would have been useful too. I have found this whole experience frustrating and feel doubt about purchasing these products. Sorry guy's, but as this is the closest thing I found to solving the problem I have. It would have been nice if you chose sequences that sound musical - there's nothing worse than trying to listen to spoken instructions when there's a very unmusical and distracting example kicking off in the background.

Man, that sucks you are having such a bad experience,I know its definitely frustrating for me when I buy expensive gear and cant quite seem to wrap my head around it or it turns out to be different then I originally thought it would be. If you feel like it's not for you that understandable. But one thing I will say is this, dont let the learning curve discourage you, the fruit of your synth labor is oh so juicy, fat, warm, and straight knocks homie. Nothing beats being rattled down to the soul feels by a triple osc saw wave filter sweep with the resonance cranked and maybe ran through a stereo delay and an octave generator. Best of luck to ya 🤘

Look more into modular and basic patching, ask on forums and they absolutely will help you. I recommend elektronauts, lines forum and muffwiggler

Sorry for being Captain Hindsight, but getting a semi-modular analog synth perhaps isn’t the best choice when you’re completely new to synthesis. From your comment about the examples in this video being “unmusical”, I get you’re not too much into the weirder side of electronic music in general either. Consider starting out on something more intuitive and beginner friendly like a Minilogue or BassStation 2 before growing into the more advanced stuff.

I want my Grandmother back😳🎹 Nice keyboard 🎹 Remind of my Krog Wavestation. Is the concept of this keyboard is that it has a motherboard?🤔

When he used the trigger out on the back of the GM at 9:19, could he have been using the mult instead (presuming the first trigger out went there at the beginning, then out to the DFAM)? In other words, will a mult work just fine for triggers? NEVERMIND, answered at 13:30.

As a complete idiot, where do I connect the 3 audio outputs to? Dfam mother32 and Subharm? I thought I just needed one when patched the correct way

I would have the exact same question. Nonetheless from my knowledge so far the last device in your patch should be the one connected to your audio.

I'm really sad that Moog was bought out. I seriously doubt Moog will ever be the same. I so hope that I'm wrong here.

Testing to see if Moog is banning / ghosting negative comments on this video too.

Yeah, they've gone full "positive nazi." You can't say anything honest on the page for their new Matriarchy synth. What tipped me off was seeing that there are ZERO negative reviews.
@whitenoisefromelectronicto1728
@@Anonymous-yw1cv I already have a Mother-32, a DFAM and a Grandmother. I was only waiting for the Subharmonicon to be released and the the Matriarch hit me. Why would I buy a Matriarch if I already have a Grandmother? I personally felt cheated by Moog releasing the Matriarch (it was like my grandmother immediately became an inferior product), but this is just my opinion. If they release the Subharmonicon I would still probably buy that, but instead of going for a Matriarch I bought a Doepfer A-100 Analog System

Elephant Kid Umm, okay. I didn’t see anything about Moog’s tech-fascism in your post though. 🤷🏻‍♂️
