Lombardi would be well suited as an establishment media reporter who convincingly parrots the official narrative, while Cohn would make an awesome alternative media investigative journalist who isn't afraid to call it like it is. Being that the 49ers were a couple of offensive linemen away from winning Super Bowl LVIII, I wholeheartedly welcome the opinions of Cohn who questions why the Niners drafted players they don't need (WRs and RBs) instead of drafting players they absolutely need (OTs and DTs).

David Lombardi thinks he always right which he isn't. He just a homer guy.

I love Hensley when he has Crocker, but he is weak when he is paired with Cohn.

Here's a good example of why I trust Cohn's opinions more than David Lombardi: Lombardi uploaded a video 3 weeks ago entitled, "49ers Draft Update: These are SF's likeliest big men picks", where he mentioned Kingsley Suamataia who was first among O-linemen on their top 30 prospects visit list, giving him a second round grade. Xavier Legette was first among WRs on their top 30 prospects list. Thus begs the question, why didn't the Niners draft Legette in the first round and Suamataia in the second? After the draft Lombardi has been mum on this topic. Why the crickets? Grant Cohn's hit the nail smack dab on the head in his article published in Sports Illustrated entitled, "The 49ers Have Just 22 First-Round Grades on Their Draft Board - If Lynch is being truthful, and I have no reason to believe he isn't, then the 49ers probably need to trade up or trade down." Judging by the 49ers draft board coupled with their top 30 prospects, the 49ers did not intend on drafting an O-lineman in the first round and thus did not trade up. The irony is the 49ers foolishly traded down one spot in the second round, allowing the defending Super Bowl Champion Chiefs to pick up Suamataia. And instead of drafting hulking and speedy receiver Legette as they planned on doing, they reached and opted for the slight built Pearsall instead. If one reads between the lines, Cohn's criticism of Pearsall has much to do with the 49ers not following through on their plan to draft Legette. The 6'1" 225 pound Legette who despite being 35 pounds heavier than the 189 pound Pearsall is bigger, stronger and faster than Pearsall, clocking a 4.39 40-yard dash at the 2024 NFL Combine.

Facts.. I stopped Watching Lombardi.. his delivery is horrible.. and just seems so “Im better than you” vibe.. i could be bugging

i been enjoying lots of 9ers coverage since grant started back in 2018ish. I even enjoy lombardi but he deff never ever says hes wrong or never critiques the 9ers. Its 9ers cult propaganda at the highest level 😂

I kind of like both Cohn and Lombardi. It's a bit like having the devil or one shoulder telling you why everyone is trash and an angel on the other telling you why they'll be in the hall of fame.

It is odd how in just 5 minutes they can tell you the 49ers cannot pass when they have to, and then question why they drafted 2 receivers. DUH HELLO. It isn't they want to be a pass first offense, it's just that they want to be able to pass period. Maybe Jennings and Deebo cannot get separation. Great blocker, great run after the catch.

So just curious Grant what should the Niners do with Purdy? Cause base on your comments you can plug in anyone in there and would do just as good. Jimmy was so bad. Anyone that has two eyes and knows football can see that the team carried Jimmy. Based on what Purdy has done in the regular season and playoffs there is no way you can say that about him.

Disappointed.we need Cohn and Lombardi lock in a room together and see who walks out.

I watched the show and I have two takes. I understand how hard it is to get content but I want honesty. Grant Cohn says honesty is being critical at times, which is true. But to say the 49ers need a new coach is weak. And he beats that dead horse to death. I don't need to hear that Pearsall had a great 1st day, because you cannot tell anything from the 1st day. Yet on the other end of the spectrum Grant can tell you that Pearsall is not a good receiver after the 1st day. You can't have it both ways. If you can't tell if he is good then how can you tell if he is bad. Another example is Larry Krueger. He gets his favorites and already has Cowing being better than Pearsall, He has the TE Pline being the next Gronk. Yet none of these players looked any different than each other. I watched highlight of the players and the best catch of the day was made by Schrader the RB. Then I watched Krueger saying he couldn't catch.

Ever wonder how they say that Jimmy G was so bad and yet the 49ers made the Super Bowl. Brock Purdy is overrated yet the 49ers made the Super Bowl. Kyle Shanahan is overrated yet he made the Super Bowl with Jimmy G and Brock Purdy. Common sense tells you all 3 things cannot be true. I don't care who you are a fan of, you would have to admit that someone is doing pretty good, Why is it neither of these two can tell viewers that all the teams the 49ers faced in the playoffs had better receivers then them. Green Bay, Detroit, and K.C. Even the Rams had better receivers. And to keep up the 49ers had to evolve just a bit or be left behind. Whether it works or not at least they try. Did they pick the right WR, I don't know. But to just say that Kyle Shanahan doesn't have a clue what's going on (which Cohn did) is weak. I could give better arguments against the 49ers from my mom's basement without ever seeing a practice. Cohn says the weakest part of the 49ers offense is when they have to pass. If you go back and watch every play of the Super Bowl, the receivers could not get separation. The Chiefs cornerbacks locked them up. The chiefs defensive tackle Jones once again torched them. So what do the 49ers do. They draft 2 receivers, a corner and a guard. SURPRISE.

Grant Cohn made me go back and watch Florida vs Florida St because Cohn said Pearsall was not very good, and that Renardo Green locked him up (which i am totally ok with). Renardo did a great job, but the times that Pearsall was open the Florida QB could not hit the ocean if he was in a boat. So Cohn twists stats to attack, he is not giving me the truth he says he wants to put out. I want to know the bad things about my team, I want to know what they need to work on. I don't need Grant Cohn giving me his BS, and I think he is in someway trying to impress his dad. I get that I just don't like him, but please do not tell me that what you want to do is tell the truth when that is the farthest thing from what you are doing. Why is it so important where Brock is ranked. If he is ranked last in the world and gets the 49ers to the Super Bowl is that a bad thing.

Listen I'll be the first too admit Grant is very critical of Niners in general n yes he is usually very negative on them. However David... Is always always always sunshine n rainbows n kool aid drinking.. he's essentially the Niner's PR: SHIELD!!! Which is tiresome in its own right.

"A lot had to happen for the 49ers to beat the Lions" doesn't square with "the 49ers can't win a Superbowl" because a lot of crazy stuff happened (along with mistakes of course) for the Chiefs to win the SB - and I'm talking (fairly, I think) about things *before* overtime... because IMO the game should have never gone to OT. The BA ricochet (in the Lions game), for example, is widely spoken of as some crazy fluke play that should have been an interception - I disagree - the DB was *never* in position to bring that ball in and that's why it went off his facemask as he was awkwardly falling backwards out of control. The reason he was falling backwards out of control is because he twisted around and did a two-handed push off of Aiyuk and that didn't go so well for him. It was definitely defensive pass interference for two legit reasons (push off and impeding path to ball) - as we all know, the flag WAS thrown, and rightly so.

The problem is Grant all you do is critique the team in a negative way. It’s been like that since you started reporting for the team for SI. If you were fair in how you cover this team we would not be having this discussion on this show. Also the fact that you go out of your way to consistently say you are not a San Francisco 49er fan and you can care less about the team makes your negativity towards the team even worse. This is the problem with you Grant Cohn. Allot of content creators out there are balanced on how they critique the team and you are not.

Larry Krueg started the trend of being the mouthpeice of 49ers propaganda. He is fed information by John Lynch and Kyle S, they tell Larry what news to put out to condition the public. They did that with Trey Lance last year because the locker room wanted a financially friendly Brock Purdy. So now David Lombardi wants some piece of the pie and he is on this band wagon. Do you think Juan Jennings is a better than Pearsall. Jennings caught 19 passes last year. I cannot remember if these two were this hard on BA his first year or two. He was in Kyle's doghouse and took a while to get established.
