Calvin gave him the right advice to play basketball and disregard football. If he played football, everyone would have expected him to follow in his famous dad's footsteps, but by playing basketball he established his own identity.
Grant Hill was the real deal one of the great he definitely had 1 of the quickest first step coming out of college and in the NBA. The injury mess him up💯
I ran into Grant Hill at JFK airport in New York years and yeaaaaaaaaars ago. As I walked by I said, 'hey has anyone ever told you that you look like Grant Hill?" We both had a good laugh.
I promise u.. i did the same thing to Emmitt Smith at a gas station in Dallas.. but i was really asking him until he smiled and said: i am Emmitt Smith... Lol!
despite zero rings and injuries, he still is among top ten players. hill, stockton, barkley, archibald, miller are so much better than some others whom won nba without deserving it
G.Hill and Penny would both been top 10 easy maybe higher if it weren't for injuries they were definitely taking the torch from Mj as the NBA embassabors.
I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American. I was married to a very pretty Black/Cherokee/White woman, and we had a daughter in 2013. My ex looks like Tamia Hill, and our daughter is on her way there. My ex is a wonderful woman. We just weren't right for each other. I wish only the best for her. I used to have my daughter for 3 weeks every summer, but COVID limited our contact, and I've all but lost contact with my daughter.
Hey Grant, where would you rather live? Detroit had your back and Orlando wanted to throw you back. It was you Grant Hill that help create our stance as Detroiters. You and yo Hollywood wife made it easy to feel like you know what, it's Detroit vs Everybody.
Before the injuries Grant Hill was just electric and had such great athleticism and even though he had to change he’s game after the injuries he still had a few good years.
Hate Duke and other teams with a saytannic vibe! I would root for other teams over Duke and Wake Forest. I think he had a great mom, because she instilled respect; chilbren should not be allowed to run loose and live disrespectfully. She's like what the Cosbys did well. They have to learn and live it, because, otherwise, you'll have chiIbren that are good due to being good natured already(bad parenting would not change them much), open refuse(needed discipline), or try to convince you of lies instead(and be living a double life)! Felt bad about how things ended up for him!
Grant was a great person and player. Doug Collins did his best, but the organization didn't give him or Hill the help needed. Wish'n the Hills the best. Peace.
Listen he was the guy after Jordan before Kobe there was two guys that were considered to carry the flag one was Grant Hill the next was Penny hardaway unfortunately they both got hurt just like Ken Griffey Jr bo Jackson Sterling Sharpe the 90s were hard on Superstars these guys were 1 and 2 in there sports no BS they were next leave Bo would have been a Hall of famer in both sports crazy to think
in my TOTALLY honest and/or accurate OPINION a NON top 50 star sums up grant hill and in my TOTALLY honest and/or accurate OPINION the best pistons players ever are still stars #1 dave debusscherre #2 andrew phillip #3 isiah thomas #4 george yardley #5 dave bing and #6 bob lanier
@@r2richburg Roty , avg 23 ppg without mourning , 2 x all star should’ve been 4 he was great in 96 and good in 97 , all- nba and he carried his team to the playoffs and the finals, not including his ncaa achievements in which that would make him one of the greatest college players of all time top 1-3
@@andresdelportillo9917 grant was also roty, a 7x all star (so even if larry had 4, it's still less than grant) and 5x all nba, both more than larry, grant avg 25 ppg at his peak, was able to survive in the league much longer, and if we're talking skill then grant has him beat by a mile, so none of your points show his career was better, larry was good, maybe a lil underrated but in no way was he better than grant, this not even a debate lol
@@andresdelportillo9917 yeah you lost that debate Bud lol, he just hit you with the facts and the stats, skill wise it’s not close, hill is way better, and even tho Grant never reached his full potential because of injuries he still put in better numbers and more Allstar appearances, also won roty.
Even his documentary is soft. Nobody cares about a broke down dookie Dukie 🤣🤣. Just another Jordan posterized victim. Nah just kidding not hating on Hill. He was just unlucky in his pro career. I am a Cowboys fan I can’t hate on Hill.
Grant Hill was like Jordan to me in the early 90s. And he always had on the best Nikes too. I had the 1st Grant Hill shoes from Fila, only cause I had the M-Squad Fila Jamal Mashburn prior
If you were a basketball fan in the 90's and at least 13 years old when Grant was in college, and got drafted you'd understand why he's undoubtedly a HOF player. Grant was considered the best player behind Jordan at a point in his career..actually the first version of LeBron James.
@@seriously6066 it's not like he never played in the nba. He was 7x all star and 5x all nba. If you weren't there to see it, words can't explain how good he was back then... and he might have the finest wife in nba history. That's good enough for me
@@jasongibbs3713 when his name is mentioned the all stars doesn’t come up or all nba. The greats always say could’ve should’ve would’ve. So take ur lips and place them wherever you like. 🥜
