Grassi Lakes Trail Review! This trail is located in Canmore Alberta. It's one of the easier trails in Canmore with a HUGE reward.
I'd love to tell you about this amazing trail that leads to the breathtaking Grassi Lakes. It's actually one of two fantastic routes you can take, each offering a unique experience. As you set off from the trailhead, just about 100 meters away, you'll come across a fork with signs pointing you towards two options: an easier route and a slightly more challenging one.
If you decide to take the easier trail on the right, you'll embark on the wonderful Grassi Lake Upper path. This trail winds its way through a lush forest, following an old road that's teeming with natural beauty. It's a serene and peaceful journey that will make you feel truly connected with nature.
On the other hand, if you're up for a bit more adventure, the leftward route called the Grassi Lake Interpretive Trail is the way to go. As you make your way through the forested terrain, you'll gradually climb and eventually be rewarded with breathtaking views of a magnificent waterfall and the charming town of Canmore. Along this path, you'll also come across informative signs that share the fascinating history of Lawrence Grassi, the trail's original builder.
The cliffs surrounding the lakes are a popular spot for climbers, and there are even trails that lead to some incredible pictographs, adding a touch of unique artistry to the area.
It's worth noting that the more challenging Grassi Lakes Interpretive Trail is closed during winter due to icy conditions caused by water flowing over the path. Safety always comes first!
Lastly, please keep in mind that the Grassi Lakes Trail is situated in a Wildlife Corridor, meaning that we should be respectful of the natural habitat. To protect the wildlife, it's important to stick to the designated trails only.
Get ready for an unforgettable journey along the Grassi Lakes Trail. Happy exploring!

Def no scooter would make it - need to be able to walk with a cane or stick but don’t think a scooter would work

I've seen plenty of bears on this hike, including once on Canada Day with hundreds of people on the trail. Bring your bear spray.

Hi there - I used my iPhone 13pro for most of the shots. I used a GoPro Hero 11 for the underwater shots and some of the shots that look like a drone taking off. GoPro are available everywhere. 👍🏼. Hope that helps
