I have drove by this track countless times…. I never got the chance to stop and check it out. And every time I see videos like this It makes me mad that I didn’t get to find time to stop. Looks like a great place to enjoy some great racing.
Great videos of old-school cars from my generation. As a child of the 50s, I enjoyed the muscle-car era. My grandad & I went to Atco (NJ) Raceway in 1969-70 to see the races, so I recognized many of the specific type of cars. Did anyone notice the white fastback car? That was the very first model of the Dodge Charger, 1966 model year.
Thanks for the video man. I used to drag at Mokan years ago when I still lived in Joplin and my dad grew up racing there too. Saw a couple of guys in your video that have been racing there for a long time!
I like to see the vintage body styles still being raced. I ran a 88 S10 until the wheels fell off. 4 cylinder 5 speed manual. I sold it as a parts donor to a guy building a rat rod. It is a slammed vintage pickup now. a truck that is more show than go which is what he intended from the git go
Many great reaction times being cut, well except that 0.02 vs 40.55! (1:12) Beautiful vintage iron there! That Square back V-Dub is sweet AF!! Nice to see those Mopars in there too!
That was a VW wagon car. In the late 60s, Volkswagen took the chassis & drive-train of the VW Beetle and made models of a two-door wagon and fastback coupe. They didn't last long, but it was a good idea. They did that years earlier when they made the Karmen Ghia.
@@blakecourtney4592 thats like saying "ya I leave a loaded gun around my infant but its fine bc nothing has happened yet" All u need to do is glance at the track. That style guard rail hasnt been used since pre 1980s bc its known to slice cars in half or send them airborne ratyer than absorbing the impact like the proper blocks do. Take a look at old NASCAR wrecks from the 50s and 60s when they are using guard rails..its nasty stuff.
