Really like the videos! I am thinking of buying the same size boat. What size trolling motor do you have? Does it do good moving you forward in current?
I just turned on my YT notifications this morning so hopefully next time I can comment quicker to everyone. I have had 6 boats (currently own two my KW & a 1448 Alumacraft). I have all brands and different kinds of boats. I honestly could not believe when we bought this boat in 2018 how dry the ride was and how well it handlers everything. We went 6 miles off in Marathon and snorkeled at Sombrereo Reef. It’s truly the perfect boat for us and it is also the only boat that I received compliments on at the boat ramps (before the overhaul). Just about everyone know how perfect this boat is for the area I live in (Savannah, Ga). Sure, I wish I could have a larger boat, but with the Covid price spike in all larger boats, I think I’ll hold out for a while, especially since this boat is literally just about new now since the overhaul.
@@getrollingrvrentals793 Awesome man. How does the 70lb hold up with the current in the keys. I just bought a 17 and need to get a trolling motor for it.
Thanks! It has a completely different set up now. Check my page for my build video, but now with the jack plate and 115, the most shallow I’ve run in is around 1.5ft. The boat is a 2004.
I just turned on my YT notifications this morning, so hopefully I can comment quicker next time to everyone. I found the cooler seat that came off of a 2021 KW 189FS and installed it on my 2004. I also just installed on Friday 5/10 some brand new front console seats that I had made from Carolina Cushions (who makes all KW seat cushions). It took exactly from order date to delivery date. I think I paid $2-$300 for the cooler seat and paid $425 for the front console seat. I found a KW swivel seat earlier this year and now Carolina Cushions is making new cushions for that to match all my others. I will try to upload a video this weekend of my boats winter overhaul.
@@getrollingrvrentals793 that sounds good, can’t wait to see what all you’ve done to the boat. I’ve also ordered the new key west decals too, any tips on putting those on to make sure they stick well?
