(Possibly my last remix) ... a LoloYodel two-video angle remix (see credits below).
7 months after the truly spectacular and sonically unique East-Coast Spring 1990 Tour (Landover, Albany, Nassau ...), but just 3 months after the tragic death of the beloved keyboardist Brent Mydland (July 26th), The Grateful Dead embarked on what became their very strong European Tour, their 1st in 9 years (previous was in 1981) which started in Sweden on October 13th (jet lag and all ...), then Germany where it begins to pick up, then France ... and here we are ! The Tour ended on November 1st at Wembley, London UK.
Vince Welnick and Bruce Hornsby are there to replace Mydland on keyboards ...
All of these 1990 European shows, beyond their European flavour, were unique in that they were in relatively small 4 000 - 5 000 seat venues, including the Zenith (versus the average 50 000 + seat coliseums, if not stadiums, that the Dead were beginning to play in the USA). And I'm sure that the Grateful Dead were not oblivious to that "intimacy".
Paris 27th October 1990, the 1st of two nights. Comments :
"I have heard bad comments about this tour, but this show just plain owns!" - jason
"I was at both of these shows. The most memorable part was the frog noises during space. It just cracked me the hell up. Lots of rain in Paris." - owen
"I have this show and it was on of the better ones of that tour. China/Rider is one of the best. Not THE best but not far off, same for Circumstance." - mr.charlie
"Masterpiece, pretty solid version, Rob from radioiodead played today." - Perrinswolf
"Last Saint" - 6/18/89

Lolo Notes :
To both videos above : with immense gratitude and thanks !
These "amateur" videos (mixed together) should give much greater viewer pleasure.
Videos (both left of stage).
This show is very solid : The 1st of 2 in sweet Paris.
"Fixed" = most often with a 1/10th second still shot.
2nd set is really solid viewing : China Cat, Circumstance ... Playin' (see Phil !) : good visual mixes ..., sublime JG solos in NFA, even including a rockin' Saturday Night !
PS : there's always some technical glitches (I'll assume that) but it's as "almost perfect" as you could wish. Enjoy !
