In August of 2021, Jackson Vallarta was denied parole--for the third time! So far as I can determine, he is still serving his sentence of 17 years to life. Thomas Lee Harte's appeal was denied in June of 2000. He is also serving his sentence of life imprisonment.

That is definitely a 72 year old no way is that a 52 year old unless he has an aging disease. I hope that stepfather who only received 17 years for killing his stepson dies in prison before he ever gets out of prison🇬🇧🇯🇲🙏

Man.. what kind of complex did the stepdad have that made him feel so threatened by a teen who refuses to acknowledge him as family that he had to shoot the kid?

I also don't think a 16 year old would send a telegram to his mom. He would have written the note himself.

It truly beggars belief that a stepfather could really be this callous and cold-blooded. He kills his Stepsons dog and then kills him for having the audacity to stand up to him about this fact. 17 years in the slammer is no way long enough for such a wicked poor excuse of a sub-human!

Good job from these investigators. Finally, the perpetrator was caught and is in prison where he belongs. Great job, detectives. Love forensics science, it is the perfect and greatest tool to apprehend killers.

There was another red flag in that mail gram. The last line “PS see you when I’m in the NFL” (which was stated in the actual letter). Chris never said anything about joining any professional football 🏈 league (let alone the NFL). He only played football at school because he was just looking for extracurricular activities so he wouldn’t have to be home much, plus he wasn’t getting along with his mother Dale either.

Anyone who gets a great step-parent is extremely blessed!!! They certainly do exist! However, too often, step-parents resent their stepchildren. There are some who are very cruel and abusive!!! Trust me. I know.

Hmmm. Not sure why the cops had to "race with sirens blaring" -- the body is skeletal. Not like the crime just happened.

In my mind I can see no reason for someone to murder someone. It's so sad we have so many people with the mental capacity to murder innocent people. I am so happy that science has come along like it has to put these very sick people away even after many years or decades

Jackson Villarta not only killed Chris Denoyer, but he also killed Chris’s dog with rat poison (which police found in a locked cupboard in the garage that only Jackson had keys to). He put locks on the pantries, wouldn’t allow Chris to use the phone nor even allow him to help himself to anything in the refrigerator. Chris also never said anything about joining any professional football league (let alone the NFL), he only played because he just wanted something fun to do. They didn’t include an interview with Chris’s sister Cherie who also described that Jackson was very hard on her brother and that their mother Dale wouldn’t stand up for him. But another interesting detail was when asked if anything unusual occurred after her brother vanished, she stated that there was a strong odor throughout the house but didn’t know what it was. She thought that their pet snake came loose from its cage and died somewhere in the residence. Several other people (including her mother Dale) said the same story regarding the odor in the house. However when police brought up the situation with Jackson, he said that he smelled nothing unusual.

I have never understood how spouses could be jealous of their step kids, and how a parent could be so desperate to keep a spouse to let them run your kids out of your house.

He just decided to take the kid's life ??? Never felt this sad before 😔😔

the case with jason flew real close to home for me because my stepmother abused and tried to kill me multiple times because I wouldn't call her mum, things were ok when she had no children with my dad but as soon as my brother was born i was an unwanted inconvenience and it wasn't until i went to senior school and discovered my out through social services and foster care otherwise i might not be here today.

My late husband and I lived around the corner from This house 🏡 And I just wanted to say that he was a good Boy "Kid" and going places! It's a shame that the mother choose the Boy Friend over her Son 😢 Never smelled anything! RIP Little Chris 🙏🕊️⚖️

I think the name used for this show when it was shown in the UK makes more sense. Forensic Detectives. Because it concentrates in forensics and not just detection.

The second story is weird! Either casting crew did a bad job but how on earth did the old guy at the bowling alley thought he had a chance with the waitress

I remember both of these cases well from other shows.

I dont understand why some people especially women would continue to stay with a partner who doesn't get on well/abuse their children. What love is greater than the love of a child to chose a man over your own flesh and blood.

This is maybe my new favorite detective show, because of the no-nonsense straightforward narration of the details of the crime and investigation. Even the re-enactments aren't overly dramatized, they are very well done to fit what happened, sometimes the re-enactments on these shows annoy me but this show does it right.

Hart's story is just 🐂 💩. So you tell a man ur taking his wife and he ask you for a ride to a convenience store and then you even go as far as to offer the guy a ride back home. Not impossible but very unlikely.

not long before that kid was buried under the floor boards, the world had watched in horror as a home in Des Plaines, Illinois had its floor boards removed, to uncover 30+ bodies. it makes you wonder, how many people used that hiding space after seeing JWG's apprehension.

These recreations crack me up. Why would they need lights and sirens for a skeleton buried under a house? They do this on a lot of these videos. They even have several where they are running lights & sirens in a field and on a road where NO ONE else is there.
