-Some scenes are cropped because of copyright (6:31, 9:28), but he was using his power the whole time. -It's a TV show: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. -The show has always been MCU canon. -It's a TV show *based* on the real world.
Can I just say it's not 100% MCU canon because Graviton references not needing Thor's hammer to fly but Coulson is still alive and by the time Thor became an Avenger Coulson died to Loki
I just now realized why he killed the absorbing man. He turned him into gravitonium and hes hunting for gravitonium so he absorbed him since he was an easy source of it pretty fucked.
I actually feel bad for Glenn Talbot. He served his country as a devote soldier, while being made to look like a fool by SHIELD. He eventually began to trust them and their methods only to be shot in the head by a Quake clone. Then he spent all that recovery time in the hands of HYDRA. Being broken down, tortured, and just living in Hell while hoping to be rescued by SHIELD. HYDRA activates him and finally completely breaks him. In an act of desperation he absorbs the Gravitonium to save his friends, and it seals his fate, as it corrupts his already broken mind. And all of this is from him spending his entire career wanting to help people, and be a hero. You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
Oh don't feel bad remember Stargate when they went to that planet with an ancient scientist was trying to extend his life with his technology and they brought him back to Earth thinking that they can help him with Earth technology give me a f****** break and in the end they let the guy die rather than send him back to his home planet and Carter made a little smart remark about I want to give you my technology on how to defeat apophis and it's called and said we'll figure it out I couldn't stand that f****** show man I really couldn't
@@speway yeah the guy is nut each season were better than the one before agent of shield is the best superheroes show in my opinion because with all the episodes and seaskn they keeped a good amount season compared to flash or arrow or even supergirl were their like two or three season good and after this everything is shit
@@users10116 Pretty much. However you are comparing Marvel to DC which, in my opinion, has never really been up to the task. Marvel, ever sense it was going bankrupt and as a last effort to save itself, did the Blade movie, they have kept their momentum.
It's a damn crime Mark Kolpack and his team were never nominated for any Emmy Awards for their work on this show. It was consistently elite level, especially on a TV budget.
You're not kidding. I know they didn't have a huge budget but the CGI almost always felt movie quality of the time. .... and it's better than movie quality now. Jesus, studios finally broke the special effects industry
When Gravitonium was first introduced in Season 1, I just kept waiting for it to become a plot-point (especially because of the post-credits scene of that episode). I was so glad it didn't become a dropped plot-point
@@tythegreatttg not better. Magneto controls the electromagnetic field, which is 10^36 times stronger than gravity, and can literally do anything gravity can do and more.
Just think what would happen, If Graviton, Magneto, and Radioactive man. came together as a team. they would literately be the Fundamental forces of the Universe. the 3 of them together could shape reality to their combined will!
In the comics graviton uses his abilities to seek out others who possess mastery from the three remaining fundamental forces. He meets quantum and half-life. Quantum’s speciality is the strong force and half-life is the embodiment of weak force. Look it up!
Let not forget this brother lifted up the whole city of Manhattan ,and battled the avengers at the same time. He is one of my top three favorite villians in marvel.
They need to bring this actor back as graviton He did a fantastic job 😍but this time as a good guy since he might have more control now over his powers instead of being gravitonium hungry I know he is alive still floating out there in space but by the time he comes back after endgame things will be different And he will get to help out the new Avengers team 😍👍
I would love to see him back I mean. He isn't a character that could die turned into dried ice in space, his power is literally gravity manipulation. His powers would protect him from freezing in space and he would just fly away
If Talbot wasn't shot in the head and still took the gravitonium he could've been a benevolent Graviton and truly a superhero. As for Franklin and Ian still inside, just as Glenn was able to shut them up and still b fine, or maybe magic would've been able to free them both alive or sent to the afterlife.
@@onlyoba LOL, loki is very weak, he is a simple giant alien frost, ultron is a simple machine and I never talk graviton vs thanos with infinity stones
WRONG! He could only levitate! He can manipulate gravity, but he can't control it horizontally! To fly forward, he needs some sort of propulsion! Reducing his own gravity to levitate is one thing, but how does he move forward or backwards! You can only do that with telekineses! By the way, telekineses is way cooler! The most advanced form of TK can manipulate matter at a subatomic level to create all sorts of effects like healing, molecular combustion aka explosion power, create friction to create heat and fire aka pyrokineses and even cryokineses but telekinetically removing hot air and leaving only cold. TK can also effect gravity in a lot of ways. You can crush people the same wya graviton is doing, and you can also destroy planets with advanced TK. Advanced TK is one of the most powerful abilities. By manipulating matter at a subatomic level, you litterly influence probability fields to create reality warping effects and even control the flow of time. Like in the movie Lucy where she unlocks 100% of her brain power! She littelry can do anything her minds thinks of! TK is littelry the source power of will power! If you can think it you can do it with advanced TK. Phoenix force also used advanced TK to create other powers and effects like gravity control, resurrection etc....
You should watch the episode on avengers earth's mightiest heroes for an awesome look into graviton. He wrecks thor, and gives the hulk a run for his money, but once the hulk gets his footing he powers through gravity. Pretty sweet
@@leanture3685 LOL "WRONG .... So he couldn't project a strong gravity force in front of him to fly like superman huh? And TK is good, but gravity is one of the four fundamental forces of the very universe itself. I'd take that over TK. The things you could do with gravity control are astonishing.
No, he was being reasonable cause you know hydra infiltrate shield and he had trust issue for them ever since. The only cause of his action was the brain damaged and brain washed
The way he weirdly crushed the three guys in the second scene could have looked very different but I know they made it look like that as an ref/hommage to the series Legion (not in the MCU but still marvel related) when the shadow king crushes the mind of someone this exact way
having total control over gravity would make you more powerful than any other superbeing period. you could literally increase gravity on them no matter who it is, until they were crushed. you could toss them into space...there isn't much you could not do to any superhero, thor hulk etc that they would be able to counter. gravity is the greatest power there is and if you think not, ask yourself waht would happen to any super that messed with a blackhole.
Having control of gravity just means you can only control the gravity of things you are aware of. At least in the context of this show. He doesn’t have increased reflexes or speed. He isn’t immune to magic or telekinesis. Just have Professor X or any other being that can manipulate the mind. Mantis is already 1 that exists in the MCU. She was able to get Thanos by surprise with help. She couldn’t easily do the same to this guy.
I sincerely hope they do a what if for this guy where he gains insane amounts of power due to making better decisions. After becoming graviton he basically gains the ability to absorb anyone and steal their memories, skills, knowledge, and even super powers. So really his best bet would be to absorb vision to strengthen his body and gain the powers of the vibranium body. Then he can absorb inhumans and other enhanced people to add to his list of powers. Super speed, super strength, energy blasts, control over the elements, vibration, matter manipulation, etc. absorb stark to gain his intelligence and access to technology and money. A lot could be done with his character.
In the comics he's been able to hold his own against the combined forces of the Avengers and XMen on multiple occasions, has lifted entire cities into the sky, killed someone on the opposite side of the planet with a pebble just to see if he could, flown to the sun and back, and reshaped the surface of the moon. He's pretty damn powerful =P
Although, comparatively, Magneto would be more powerful, as of the four fundamental forces of nature (gravity, electromagnetism, nuclear strong force and nuclear weak force), gravity is the weakest
@@erebusvonmori8050 na ebany maw won doctor strange on earth and graviton can do what ebany maw did but faster as he can put the weight of the world on doctor strange
According to what they were talking about in space with the Confederacy talking about Thanos, and he wants to fight him, this story is happening alongside the events of Infinity War, what if he were to somehow absorb Thanos with all Infinity stones? That was probably one of the million possibilities Dr Strange saw.
Spoilers below Talbot was such a good character. He was always just kinda there, but he never felt like an extra. Although this was an unfortunate end to his character, I still enjoyed it :)
Another way to convey gravitational force, on a visual medium, is to show surfaces buckling and contorting as he manipulates gravitational fields in small spaces.
This is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D? I only saw 2 episodes. Seems pretty cool. Reminds me of Hero's. In fact. I think that guy played in Hero's as Nathan Petrelli the guy who could fly.
Hes manipulating gravity around people thats all. He can do anythingghe wants with. Gravity icluding absorbing it. So he creates gravity around them and just absorbs the gravity with them. Same goes forhow hes crushing people lol
@@Shioni16 ......manipulation of gravity doesn't mean manipulation of matter. The concept applied here is a confusion in itself like to give him a power only on gravity or other hidden abilities like matter absorption, if that was the case he's just another absorbing man with gravity powers as a bonus.
In a manner of speaking, Franklin Hall did become Graviton because of his essence in Talbot. They are practically one and they died together as one with Ian Quinn and Absorbing Man.
I'm not sure where they got the name " Glen Talbot" But the Graviton I know is Franklin Hall and he is a monster. I'm still waiting for #comicsexplain to do a vid on him. The dude controls one of the fundamental forces of the universe. That is beast.
In the show, Franklin Hall was the scientist who discovered Gravitonium and all its properties, but ended up being absorbed by it and his consciousness was trapped within Gravitonium. After Glenn Talbot absorbed the metal and became Graviton, Hall's consciousness lingered within his mind
It’s bc frank appeared in season one and was killed in 1 ep, while Glenn is a comic character he’s not gravitation, I assume the writers wanted to have gravitation appear but since he was already dead they made him Glenn instead
@@ESTComics Yep, I can see how they messed that up. 😇I wonder why they always mess up good characters, meaning, kill them then have someone portray them in a different light, have someone play them entirely?
Graviton is Glenn Talbot which I'm sure you have heard or have seen that character before in Marvel comics including the last time we've seen Talbot in live action was in the hulk movie Eric bana as the hulk and another actor played as Talbot 😉👍 But in that movie he didn't have any powers He was just a regular soldier 😉👍
@@HeyCMDR1991YT nope, I'm not a comic book connoisseur. It's one of those things, people think just because someone likes a few movies, shows they must be reading comic book and knowing everything. Doesn't work like that, alot of people can be fans of characters just from movies, and completely ignore comic books, only know about certain things from RU-vid clips and even Wikipedia. But hey, like I said, never saw this show. Tried the first two episodes and got bored when it first launched but hey, the character looks cool. Kinda reminds me of Magneto
@@rudra7615 noooo you have to get past the first season. amoung agents of shield fans that is simply common knowledge because it’s a bit slow. I beg that you watch it because it gets infinitely better with every season and has some of the most intricate and well written misdirects and stories on network television. Please give it another try
For those who've never read the comics (shame on you!) Graviton in Agents of SHIELD is an amalgamation of two separate Marvel characters: The first is Glenn Talbot, former Air Force officer (Major to Colonel) and aide to General Thunderbolt Ross, worked with Ross on his campaigns against the Hulk, had a thing for Betty Ross but she had a thing for Banner. Generally a good guy, bit too much starch in his shirt, no real imagination, eventually married Betty but that turned out to be a mistake, he was the Rebound Guy after her breakup with Bruce. After their divorce he led a disastrous battle against Hulk that destroyed the entire Gamma Base and cost him his career, afterwards he stole a super-tech combat vehicle to go against Hulk personally, got killed when he finally caught up with him. The other is Graviton himself. Midlevel scientist Franklin Hall working at a research facility conducting gravity experimentation. Involved in a lab accident that gave him major gravity control powers. Had a bit of an ego problem, good scientist who thought he should have been recognized as a great scientist, and ended up using his powers to further his ego, think of him as a super-powered Walter White. One of Marvel's heavier hitters but fortunately lacks the imagination to be a Major Player.
