McGucket spent 7 seconds in the portal and went crazy, Stanford spent 30 years there and came back to play DnD. I love how Stanford remembered about Stanley after seeing his reflection.
@MageBurger Think about it, what Paradox saw in the time vortex was infinite amounts of timelines, one good and bad but compared to Standford who was in a dimension beyond reality itself which makes nightmares look like cartoon shows, so I would say Standford's way of being sane while being in there and probably learning some things, sounds like a higher feat than Mr Paradox but I can be wrong but both are insanely terrifying. Imagine seeing infinite amounts of timelines where you start to get more than a existential crisis or a dimension/reality where you will also get a existential crisis but start to lose your mind because the basics of law and physics don't work there
One of the reasons this show remains so popular is that, beyond it just being really good, Alex Hirsch has an intuitive understanding of how to engage with fans.
Everything's from Journal 3. 0:10 - Steve. 0:46 - Eye-bats 0:55 - The Shapeshifter 1:00 - Floating Cliffs 1:05 - Gnomes 2:14 - McGucket goes through the portal. Bill - "One peak into my dimension, and this bumpkin lost his weak little mind. All he saw was me removing my exoskeleton to feed. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen, Jack."
@@mikmat2008 well tbf Stanford is a more deep and interesting character but dipper, Mabel, and Stan we’ve been following so the emotional attachment is stronger
to be fair, the Foundation tends to punch a lot higher up than Ford ever did. They have contingencies for things like the Scarlet King, which has destroyed a sizable chunk of the hyperverse. Meanwhile Ford couldn't contain the shapeshifter, which is pretty much just a much less dangerous 682.
@@spandanganguli6903 I mean, the Foundation has researchers like Bright, who was able to launch a moon at 2399 without anyone being able to so much as figure out how he did it. The Foundation punches through realities like a hole punch through paper. Ford's a genius, but upper Foundation researchers are just on a whole other level.
I just realized something after watching the Owl House. I'm sure someone has already went over this, but in the first episode, it was said that any weird sightings in the human world were the result of creatures from the Demon realm leaking to the human world. It would stand to reason that the majority of anomalies that don't fall under the category of scientific are in fact from the Demon realm *Edit: Now this is even more likely since it's pretty much been established that Gravity Falls and Owl House take place in the same universe*
Same. They both specifically state it's one dimension leaking into another. So it's my headcannon that the portal Eda uses to travel from the Boiling Isles to Earth is whats causing the anomalies.
It might be its only the nightmare realm that’s leaking into gravity falls specifically and whilst the boiling isles leak into most of the other parts of the earth
Ford: I began to keep a journal- Dipper: AHHHHH! THE JOURNAL! ^-^ Dipper: ....sorry..... Ford: *cough* I'm just gonna ignore that... Ford: so I began to keep a journal- Dipper: AHHHHHH! ^-^
some cool things i saw in the pan-around Ford: Steven universe symbol on a gas canister Angry Gnome in a cage Photos of UFOS Something that looks like a dragon egg Brain in a jar Dentures in a jar (reference to the teeth monster in the finale?) A broken door with symbols on it Gideons amulet Hand in a jar Cyclops skull Spider/bat The shell/skeleton of “the creature that dosent exist” from Phineas and ferb A dead eye bat pinned to a board (Edit: all the ppl saying it’s not an su reference needs to let me live they deadass look the same 😭😭)
@@hakancanbek7673 i guess what he meant is that the show shouldn't have ended sooner. Alex Hirsch said on an interview that he still got a lot of things he can put into Gravity Falls but he's afraid that Disney would cancel it. He didn't want to have his show end on such a very rushed state.
wasn't the whole show about accptance of the past and moving on with the future letting go of what we loved once just to face a new day that those who remain in the past have no future ?
Everyone, please; the symbol at 1:18 is NOT the diamond authority logo from Steven Universe... Yes, it is similar, but if you look at it you can see that the colors are upside down. It's because this is actually a hazard symbol used irl, called the NFPA 704 Fire Diamond, and is commonly found on flammable containers.
Goldenboy0125 Also if your reason for calling me an idiot is because I don’t know a “hazard sign.” But I know what it means now. Also it won’t resolve anything calling me an idiot. If you just call me an idiot with absolutely no reason on your comment then your the idiot.
+Pearl Gem Well, Stanford had help from a brain demon and Fiddleford actually went to college for that kind of thing. It's not totally implausible that they could build that portal with just the two of them. They had nothing but time to sit around and build. They had no other obligations so, yeah. lol (I personally think there was a third person involved though seeing as how there is a 3 person shut down system for the portal instead of just two).
Devin Roling hey, there's need for name calling. She simply said her point of view and I calmly stated my opinion as well perfectly fine without name calling.
Oh fuckkk no. I mean, did you see what they did with the live action Avatar the Last Airbender movie? It was awful. Animation should be left as Animation because it gives you more creative freedom and liberty to be as whacky and wild as you want with a production. That what makes this show great. It's artistically and narrativley bizarre but creative with it's storytelling methods and Animation. Live action limits all of that and you can't get away with it as easily. Leave the show as it is.
I love how much creepier the ending was in the journals, imagine the thing you took so much pride in makes you teeter over the edge of it being a bad idea. Then you hear voices and descend into madness on the realization it was all a horrible mistake.
ford instructing the builders: i just want a small house. one kitchen, one bathroom, enough living space. the builders: alright, sure that will work just fi- ford: also please make sure to add an enormous underground cave i can use as my secret lab the builders: ... i guess.
It’s not what he saw that destroyed McGucket’s mind but his refusal to accept it resulting in the overuse of the memory gun. It that sense McGucket’s arc is Anti-Lovecraftian.
"Schmebulok. Senior." If he's specifying Senior, that might mean the Schmebulok we know is Junior. This means that some time in the thirty years between Ford's disappearance and return, Schmebulok got with somebody and had a kid to make the Schmebulok we know. _And he can only say Schmebulok._
YT started recommending me Gravity Falls videos this week, and all of them made me realise how GOOD this show was, interesting story, great characters and also funny.
Wait I just realized, in the Owl house it’s said all myths in our world come from the Boiling isles and in Gravity Falls, Ford mentions another dimension that leaked into ours giving our world all of its weird anomalies. If the two shows share the same universe, I genuinely can’t rule out this fact
Alex is such a talented VA. Among the likes of JK Simons himself. He voices so many characters that it’s barely distinguishable that it’s him. Seriously, you’re telling me that Grunkle Stan, Soos, McGucket, and Bill Cypher are voiced by the same person? That is incredible! And they sound nothing alike each other too! The guy has talent!

I said this in a different video, but one thing I really love about this show is its continuity and how it connected most of the reoccurring characters. Like how they first introduced McGucket as a stereotypical crazy hillbilly that everyone tries to avoid for a joke side character. But then changed him into an amnesiac genius that slowly regains his memory and sanity that links him to the main storyline. Alex really knew what he was doing :)
*THINK, DIPPER! WHAT WILL YOU HAVE AFTER 500 YEARS?!* “Mabel… I’ll still have Mabel.” I still cannot believe that J Jonah Jameson and Omni Man are also Stanley.
"AAAAAAAAAHHH,THE JOURNALS!" Dipper Fangirling (Yeah I Know It Is Fanboying But Fangirling Soundings Better XD) Gives Me Life :D (DipStick Fangirling At 0:28)
Okay, call me stupid, but I didn’t realize until now that McGucket was *standing over the cautionary line* and therefore got sucked in!! I may have just been a dumb kid but man there is so much detail in every one of these episodes!! Edit: 2:09 It’s here
I began to keep a journal Entry #1: "That moon rock seems to be good portal conductors. They also seem to be pure poison. Caroline, bring me my pain meds"
