Gravity Falls s01 e04 "The Hand That Rocks the Mabel" Reaction 

Gideon is a great sinister little guy. Pretty good at setting up future episodes so everything is an awesome, cohesive, story. Surprisingly dark and deep for a kids show though. Glad you were able to go into this totally blind, makes it way better.

And if you think Gideon is freaky... You have no idea what you have coming...

I like how the concept of death and mental instability was made VERY clear in this episode on a kids show.

I just noticed this as I was rewatching but the woman who caught Gideon's cape and the guy that was next to her were the couple from episode 2 that Grunkle Stan interrupted the proposal of. Still love these reactions every time I watch them!!!

Fun Fact From 0:15 until 0:26 All of the characters (Grunkle Stan and All the Tourists) is voice by Alex Hirsch himself, I think...

That "aroo?" comment from Mabel made me laugh the first time I saw this episode, because I thought it was referencing Scooby-Doo - that dog used to make the same noise when he was confused, and there's a mystery element too. But anyways, awesome reaction!

I just noticed rewatching this episode that he actually does touch the amulet when he says rise up

Something that's always great are musical numbers in shows, and "Lil Ol' Me" 1:16 is the first of many great ones in Gravity Falls.

Recovering from a really bad cold and fatigue on a rare day off, and what do I find? Another Gravity Falls reaction... Just made my day, Dweeb. Thanks!

One of the big mysteries of this show is the wheel... It is adorned with symbols, which has ties to.. something... you can see it if you're u freeze frame any episode at the end of the title sequence. And see what it ties to... There are also secret messages in the credits of every episode. The clue to solving them also lies in the intro, also in the end, if you play it backwards, the whispering voice gives a hint. It changes over time but i think the first few episodes i think he whispered 'two letters back" There are many many, mannnny, secrets in this show... some even tying into future episodes. But i kinda wanted to point out the ones that are kinda one-offs, or can't really be solved yet, lol...

This episode was so unsettling, but it kept me on the edge of my seat. 😂 As always, love the video! 😁

I had only seen the first two episodes of this show, but when you started reacting to them I was encouraged to go and watch the rest of the series so I can stay ahead of you! It just gets better and better, I think you'll really like it

Gideon's such a good fraud, Dipper's the *only one* who noticed him using actual psychic powers to compel the audience to stand-- and even Dipper promptly forgot about it, because he was too distracted by all the obvious fake stuff. Even our hostess was busy talking about how much he sucks during the reveal! THAT'S the true extent of Gideon's showmanship.

Gideon voice: "Oh, don'tchew worry 'bout lil' ol' me, Alycia!" (whisper) "I'll be ba-yack..." Rick Sanchez Voice: "Amateur *uuuurp* hour."

Remember Dipper said the book he has (3) just sort of ends in a way that suggest the author vanished in the middle of it.

I think it's about this episode that Gravity Falls started to pick up for me. But, still... Have you noticed the codes at the credits of each episode? Some of them add things to the story.

I just realized that this show is actually taking place in real time somewhat. In that roughly a week passes between episodes in the show.

Yeah you know now that you mention it it is kinda creepy to have this living wax head (in this case Larry Kings head) just bouncing around in the air vents somewhere. Just imagine if that happened in your house in real life: now that would be both creepy and terrifying as well to boot.

I don't want to spoil you about the books, but here is a detail that might be important to remember from earlier: Dipper mentions in episode 1 that the pages in book 3 stop at a certain point, like the author mysteriously vanished. This would kinda imply that book number 3 is the final book, meaning there are only 3 books in total. This still leaves one book, book number 1, unaccounted for at the moment...

Episodes 4 & 5 of Season 1 to me are when the "weird" really starts to hit the fan and lets GF distance itself from the usual Disney cartoon standards. (You'll be saying: "THIS IS A DISNEY SHOW?!" soon enough). XD But yeah Gideon is a great villain as a great dark foil to Dipper and their ownership of the Journals, as you will soon see as you dive further into the show.

Not a spoiler only a deduction. Book #3 has incomplete pages at the end therefore it is unlikely that there are more than 3 books in total. Unless they all have unfinished pages at the end for some unknown purpose.
