Good vid. Helped me install my GG trigger without any issues. I'm very pleased with the result. Finally an acceptable trigger on what is supposed to be a competition gun (mine's the X5 Legion).
Just got the Wilson Combat grip module and now I just ordered the Grey Guns competition trigger kit. So when it comes in I'll be using your video. Thanks SSG
Quick question. What would you suggest for guide rod and recoil spring for compact/carry? I have the factory right now, but I want to try to reduce the muzzle flip. Thanks
Artisan Custom woodcraft I’m not sure which you are referring to but this video is a little bit old. Currently I’m running Armory Craft dual adjustable triggers in all my Sigs.
Outstanding install video - Don't have a Sig yet, doing research. I have watched a lot of install videos for various systems and this one is a 10+. No BS, just a concise well presented video. Going to keep a link to it. I will say the install is more complex than installing an Apex forward set into an M&P - that I have done. I fail to understand how anyone could give this video a thumbs down. Some people?
Thank you for the compliment sir. Although pretty involved it is pretty straight forward. Once you’ve done it a couple times it’s relatively easy. One of the reasons I make these videos is to encourage people to try it themselves. If it was something that was going to be a shit show I wouldn’t make these videos encouraging people to do it. There’s really nothing you can break so as long as you have patience it’s completely doable. You’ve got this! 🤙🏼
Fwiw, in reassembly with the competition Trigger kit I had to put the trigger bar spring in the trigger bar, follow other steps and insert the trigger bar in the sear bar... then insert the trigger bar spring 'other end'...…. as there simply wasn't enough room/travel in the trigger shoe lob mold and pivot point for the trigger bar to lay flat, the trigger shoe to fit entirely. The standard Trigger shoe that came with the X5 has a lot more space/play travel between the 'lob' and pivot pin.I'm just glad I didn't ruin the trigger bar spring twisting it about-waiting until later to insert the not trigger bar end of the spring. Thanks for the video.
Question: Have you tried the Competition Kit with the standard trigger reinstalled? That is, Keep all the rest of the modifications of the competition kit while reinstalling the original trigger. I was just curious. I have found that I am not the biggest fan of the flat face and was looking at the original trigger wondering if there would be anything unsafe about using it now that the rest of the kit has been installed. Thoughts?
Hi Sig Gut!. you are doing a great job. Could you tell me if it makes sense to install apex bar kit or grayguns trigger kit to sig sauer x five legion? will there be a noticeable difference?
YO,you got a new SUB Bro! love my p320 and more than thnat i love working on them!!! trying to get in to AGIrite now but may go with a cheaper course like ashmore or something! you do a great job! Thanks Bro!
@@SigGuy No problem! I appreciate the knowledge! i want a p320 like your camo one! but my wife about nutted me when even a grip module showed up in the mail last week!....LOL..... WWEEEHHHWWW she looks at me like im a big kid ordering toys!!.....LOL.... Maybe i am!!
So, your favorite X5 with the Apex trigger, what parts did you change, just installing the Apex trigger and trigger bar or was there more to it? And what did you get for a pull weight with the Apex trigger? Thank you
Can't wait for my Grayguns P320 X Compact Sniper Gray frame to ship out tomorrow, they should really give you discounts on the product they sell if you don't get 1 already.
Thank you very much for the compliment sir. This video is old however and I do not use or promote any Gray Guns products anymore. Good luck with your purchase. Their laser etcher Adam does excellent work.
@@MikeKraemer87 my suggestion for ANY SIG is an Armory Craft trigger. They simply can’t be beat in functionality and looks. Being ably to adjust to individual needs is awesome.
Bryan DuChane that block is pretty sweet. Because all my modules are cerakoted removal of fcu and TD lever are a pain sometimes not anymore. Best thing..... no worries about scratches!!
Excellent video. On the trigger you do like with the shorter take up and break, does it eliminate the striker safety? I imagine it does if the pretravel is reduced significantly. Is that a sig armorers trigger?
This is probably my least favorite trigger. The trigger pull length is very long in comparison to all the others. This video was also made prior to Armory Craft dual adjustable trigger even being produced. The Armory Craft trigger is my favorite and is in almost every one of my SIG Sauer pistols.
@@SigGuy so the armory trigger is even better! I currently have the apex forward set flat trigger and it’s a huge disappointment. I have their trigger on my M&p and it’s awesome. On the p320 it’s giving me 5.5-5.9# trigger! What a huge let down I emailed apex hopefully they have a solution
@@Blackhawk556. I 1 million percent agree. This video was made before AC even had a 320 trigger though. Now ALL my SIGs have AC triggers. They do not disappoint!
@@SigGuy what kind of trigger pull weight can I expect with the AC trigger and stock intervals?? Does the AC trigger not reduce pull weight? Or does it only reduce pre travel, over travel, creep and stuff like that?
Thanks for this great video. Made life a lot easier putting the new trigger in, but my kit didn't have the stop tube and I'm wondering if the changed the kits a bit?
What trigger is in the fde version that has a really short take up? That looks to be what I want. I heard good things about the gray guns kit but doesn’t seem to be enough improvement from factory to fork out that money.
Just installed the Greyguns comp trigger on my X-Five. The trigger itself rattled a bit and it’s pretty noisy with that over stop tube. The trigger pull is lighter and breaks very nicely. The reset is about the same to me but the pull is much improved. Took about 15 mins.
Do hope you see this. Just purchased my first Sig. What was the trigger on the tan sig in the end of the video? Also, do you have a fb page? Thanks these are great videos.
Hello sir. The trigger in the tan pistol is the kit from Alex. Also this video is old. There is a new trigger that is better than all of these. It’s made by Armory Craft. I believe I have a couple videos about it on this channel. I will post a link to my website if you’re interested in purchasing one. Also my business Facebook page is Sig Guy. My personal page is Eric Shunn. Thank you sir. sigguy.com/collections/armory-craft-products/products/armory-craft-p320-dual-adjustable-flat-trigger
I don’t use Gray Guns products anymore. Armory Craft triggers are superior in every way. To answer your question though it’s my understanding that Gray Guns doesn’t recommend mixing and matching their kits with any other manufacturers products.
mimics the spongy-mush stock trigger, a difference you wont notice when shooting in competition. Now, the Sig Armorer trigger does make a noticeable difference.
May I kindly ask what trigger kit you have in that other gun with the very short trigger pull, and very short reset? That is the one I want to try. Thank you very much!
This video is very old and most of the triggers available now weren't even available back then. The trigger you are referencing is the Keres trigger. Armory Craft makes a trigger now which is the one I use an would recommend If you want a trigger like you are referencing.
@@SigGuy Thank you. Wish I had known that before I bought 3 Grayguns trigger kits. If they don't work out, I will immediately get myself thr Armory Craft trigger kit. Thanks again. Very much appreciated. Your videos are simply stellar.
So my grey guns trigger does not interface with the trigger bar the way yours did. this makes it impossible to use the trigger bar spring/trigger bar rotation re-install technique that you used in your video. Any ideas or suggestions on how to not absolutely destroy the trigger bar reset spring when re-assembling, with the trigger bar and trigger connected? or is there a trigger bar that is a better option for the newer grey guns adjustable trigger?
MrMcGibblets I get my grip module work done by 313 Tactical. If you’re getting an X5 you’re gonna wanna keep the original barrel in that. There is a far superior barrel. I got my threaded barrels from Faxon.
Man killer video and we appreciate it. But ya left out the best part. What was the second trigger you showed. That looks much more like what I want. I have the grey and I HATE the creep in it. Thanks for any info!!!
Thank you very much for the compliment. This is an old video. There wasn’t many choices back then. Now there are tons. They trigger is the Keres. Was my favorite until it wore out. Made of an aluminum alloy. Armory Craft has a steel trigger. Dual adjustable. Reduced pull weight also like the legion trigger. Best of all worlds. It’s currently my favorite and is in all my 320s. They are also available on sigguy.com if you are interested in trying one. Thank you for your support.
What trigger set up do you have in the second pistol you showed, the one with very little take up and short reset. That's what i am looking for. Thank you
Bill J that is a combination of the Sig Armorer competition level action job and the Keres pro adjustable trigger. There is a new trigger out there will do this better Armory Craft dual adjustable trigger. It also lowers pull weight by 30%.
Sig Guy do you still recommend that action job in addition to the Armory Craft Dual Adjustable trigger or will said trigger achieve shorter take up and reset? I’m looking for the most crisp trigger I can find for my x five.
SSG - would you take the GG kit over Apex? I’ve seen a few of your videos and was ready to get the Apex kit. Also see on the forums that the comp GG kit can provide an adjustable setting for trigger pull. Would you ever use that for range/carry?
I don’t like GG products. First choice currently would be AC trigger then Apex kit. This video was made before AC trigger was developed. The adjustment for the GG trigger is for the over travel only. Other than that the trigger is similar to stock. The ac trigger has adjustment for pretravel, overtrevel and also reduces pull weight by 30%.
Thanks SSG - another question based on what I saw today: are you familiar with Keres Dynamics trigger for pre- and post-travel? This looks like something that could only be used in competition. I’m all for limiting travel, but I’m not too sure I’d like to have something with adjustments that tight. Your opinion is appreciated!
bob holloway I used the Keres for quite some time. It’s made from a softer aluminum though. Didn’t hold up very well. AC has the same adjustability, is made from solid steel AND reduces pull weight. Keres doesn’t reduce pull weight.
This video is extremely old and there are far better options now available. My favorite combination is the AC dual adjustable trigger used with The Sig Armorer C.O.R.E. kit. Amazing.
Does anyone know if you can use this trigger kit and still utilize the OEM Skeletonized trigger shoe? I have a spectre comp and want to keep the look of the factory gold trigger.
Mike Kostecki at 13:00 I am installing the over travel stop tube. The Gray Guns kit comes with the tube but not a spring. The spring is not included in the Gray Guns kit. Unnecessary.
Mike Kostecki the apex over travel stop tube is narrower than the GG tube. The apex spring just keeps it from flopping from side to side on the pin. Because the GG tube is the whole width of the pin no spring is needed.
It seems Gray Guns changed this kit and the new trigger design won't install as easily as shown in this vid which is of the older model. Curious if anyone knows the trick to install the spring after seating the trigger. I ended up bending the competition spring and had to instead use the intermediate one.
@@nolatone it’s not that incredible. This kit by the Sig Armorer blows the GG kit out of the water. Combine it with the AC dual adjustable trigger and you can’t get any better www.sigguy.com/product-page/the-sig-armorer-p320-competition-level-action-job-kit
Dont know if anyone gives a damn but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can watch all of the latest series on instaflixxer. Have been binge watching with my gf for the last weeks xD
The competition level action job from the Sig Armorer? That’s a sweet feeling trigger. Armory Craft is coming out with a dual adjustable trigger. THAT one is pretty sick also.
This video is old and other options have come available since. My favorite setup in use now in all my 320s is The Sig Armorer competition level action job AND the Armory Craft dual adjustable trigger. Amazing. As far as just a drop in option Armory Craft hands-down. I have their triggers in every single one of my Sig pistols now.
Yes sir. All P320 FCUs are the same. I would recommend the Armory Craft Trigger over this one though. This video is a little bit old and the AC trigger wasn’t even made at the time of this video.
That was the Keres trigger. Didn’t last very long. Made from a softer material. Aluminum or something. This was pre Armory Craft. I recommend AC For the same trigger type pull plus it reused pull weight on non legion 320s. I sell several different triggers on my website. Sigguy.Com
Keres. I would recommend Armory Craft instead. Made of steel instead of soft aluminum and it reduces pull weight by 30% In non legion 320s. I have them on my website here.... sigguy.com/shop-%2F-products/ols/products/sig-sauer-p320-dual-adjustable-flat-trigger
Benjamin Lineberry At that time I preferred the SIG Armorers competition level action job with the Keres Pro adjustable trigger. Armory Craft is coming out with their trigger here shortly which is dual adjustable and made of solid steel. With their skeletonize signature look. It should be right at the top!
Great video - thank you! I'm looking for a trigger upgrade for the X5 legion, and the GG system is disappointing in terms of creep and reset reduction. (I suspect reset strength also isn't any better than stock.) You mentioned the Sig Armorer's Comp Level action job with Keres Pro adjustable trigger was what's in the tan gun... that looked MUCH better. Is that still what you'd recommend, or better to wait for the Armory Craft dual adjustable system?
DVC Performance haha. You pay attention sir. Wait until tomorrow or the next day. MAYBE an announcement is gonna be made. 😉 You are correct. GG blows. Not even gonna sugar coat it. The new hybrid system is just as bad. The big new improvement on there is the added in over travel stop screw. With their original kit there was almost no over travel to begin with. So the trigger pre-travel is crazy long, creep his long and reset his long. Not my favorite. It is a light trigger but like I said wait until tomorrow or the next day. I spend the last 2 days getting data on something new. You’re gonna love it.
That was a Keres trigger. Now AC makes a much better dual adjustable trigger that also reduces trigger pull weight. Available on sigguy.com of you are interested.
Nah this video isnt it. Ive been trying to install this trigger for 3 hours. My trigger only will fit into the FCU a specific way and how youve set the trigger bar behind the sear the angle wont fit at alllllll. Ill wait until im finished for the edit smfgdh
There are some older trigger designs that require you to install the trigger and trigger bar together FIRST. Put the trigger bar into proper position at the sear end. THEN attach the trigger bar spring.
