I agree with the idea of sharpening your wood chipper blades! I have a Landworks 3” chipper with a 212cc 7hp Alphaworks gas engine and I have been using this chipper for a few years as of 2021 during Christmas! I love this chipper and I will definitely agree with your idea of having your blades sharpened to make the chipping cycle easier and less complicated and potentially painful!
I sharpened the blades with a medium then fine stone and the difference is night and day. One (of the two) blades was cut a bit off so sharpening + correcting made a world of difference. Thanks for taking the time to comment and BTW your screen name is cool.
After I sharpened the blades (simple honing stone) it cuts awesome, much better than when new. It's a pain to get to those blades, so many bolts but all chippers are likely similar. Glad you are enjoying yours as well!
Even better! We've been doing a lot of aged Black Oaks which are pretty hard. Fresh oak and especially pine cut much quicker. I just have to sharpen those blades!
Very true, that's why it's a full review and not a wood chipping demonstration. BTW after sharpening the blades it now chips much quicker as they came dull.
Yeah, I should have done that before the test video. After the video I sharpened them by hand with a wet stone. They were really dull and one blade was cut at a bad angle which I corrected. It's cutting great now!
