I am 63 years old and in January I signed up for a gym membership for health reasons. I was 108kg when I signed up and now I weigh 90kg. All my back pain has gone. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

When you do positive, you do positive, dare I say, you do love in its highest aspect. Your comments help keep me going to gym. Thank you for your positivity. You make a difference!! Then I look back at her achievement and have a new goal for myself. Fun!!!!

All I want to say is, "YEAH!!!" That was an AWESOME lift. The guy in the background was ready to spot if things went south...you could tell.

What I loved is that you could tell everyone was rooting for her to make the lift, which is what I felt too as I watched it. If videos of the gym were more like this, I wouldn't be hiding away in my home gym...

Also her camera isn't blocking the way or any bullcrap. Excellent video

Besides the four people in the background watching her and sending her positive energy. It's the shirtless individual that impressed me the most. He picked up his shirt, stepped back when he saw what was happening and gave that acknowledgment of because he was pumped that was successful.

Thanks Joey. In the 70s my friend competed in power lifting. Other than the enormous weights lifted, the thing that impressed me also is, Every other competitor would be cheering encouragement for the very people they where competing against. Love this stuff, thanks again.

I'd like to share a positive gym story that happened today: I was in a commercial gym for the first time. I train kettlebells and the guy who's our trainer used to have his own place but since today he's using a room in this normal gym. Everything is fine, we have our class, i finish in the changing room, ready to leave but i can't get the door open. So I'm standing there a bit desperately in front of the closed door... Until this really big gym bro sees me, comes over and asks what's the problem? I explain that i don't have this magnetic membership card that is used normally... And he, very kindly, very respectfully shows me how to open the door. By using the door handle. I'm such an idiot 😂 but he was really nice to a middle aged, overweight, slightly stupid woman! Thanks man, and to anyone who needs to hear it - try going to your local gym, you might be very positively surprised by the people there.

actually was a pretty good power clean & jerk she needs to get some proper lifting shoes, she'd do a good job btw all olympic weightlifting gyms are like this, everyone becomes friends & in most of those gyms too, when someone is going for a 1 rep max, everyone goes quiet & watches & cheers for them, they mainly go quiet to allow for more concentration olympic weightlifting gyms are the best this looks more like a crossfit style gym, but she definitely has good coaching, you can tell from her technique because that didn't look sloppy at all

What a beast, what a beautiful space. Does it say something that you feel the need to preface incoming negative comments about finishing the lift? It tells me inexperienced people entering into a gym filled with experienced people have little desire to learn, understand and therefore gain knowledge of the space, the beautiful population and the beautiful culture within a true working gym. The largest population of attention seekers believe everyone is like them. That if someone drops hundreds of pounds of weights from five and a half feet it serves no other purpose than to call attention to oneself. They push and somehow convince gyms to ban, I don’t know what they call it anywhere else but here they call it “bangin’” because they think it’s obnoxious. Certainly not as obnoxious as spandex, an iPhone, a light, a tripod, a clear field of uninterrupted space around the recording device and the entire space behind the subject and, of course, the occasional completely innocent sharing of obvious perverts who intentionally turn their head somewhat close to the subjects AO. I mean the fact they try so hard not to look makes it obvious, they’re looking. Great video

Nice power clean + jerk. You know, there's an interesting thing that I've noticed about Olympic-style weightlifting and visiting weightlifting clubs: the female-to-male ratio is something like 3:2 or 5:4. And you know what else? All the women that I've met at these clubs are down-to-earth and cool af; none of the narcissistic BS that Joey usually calls out. So, fellas, if you want gym sisters who are in there to do the work and have a great community, I would encourage you to go and check out your local weightlifting club(s).
