Look closely true believers Thosr eagle eyed fans among you will notice thst might ganes shoulder cannon all the way down to the firing sewuence is straight out of space battleship yamato Great might gaine is using a wave kotion cannon that is fucking epic as hell
@EndyonX Of course they have to wait, otherwise how could ANY mecha anime even go past the first episode if the bad guys were allowed to run them over in the middle of an epic moment (i.e. combining, finishers etc.)?
You know, the similarity of the Perfect Mode firing sequence to the Wave Motion Gun is startling, right down to the appearance of the target scope + aiming pistol, the exact words used, and even the appearance of the firing mechanism inside the cannon. It's a straight-up homage/rip-off.
Given the age of the original Yamato's show, it could be that Maito SAW that show, and, when it came time to build mecha, decided to incorporate the Wave Motion Cannon into it...though it's a slight less powerful, given that a battleship has better reactors at its disposal then even a combined super robot. :p
Well of course it IS an homage. But. It's established as part of the story that Nouvelle Tokyo and the world in which it exists is a 2D anime universe separate from the real world 3D universe we live in. Since Yamato is also a 2D anime universe, it could be argued that the wave cannon appeared in separate 2D universes on its own.
@@Richy_Rockman8386 Oh I know all too well ;) Maito ended up being my Top Ace Pilot in all 3 games on my first playthroughs and yeah Might Gaine and Great Might Gaine are absolute BEASTS!!! Was definitely worth the wait!!!
@Vachidra the only time something like this would make sense would be in magical girl series like Sailor Moon. Because the monsters are too busy drooling at panty shots and naughty bits to even attack.
