Scotland History Tours is here for people who want to learn about Scottish history and get ideas for Scottish history tours. I try to make videos which tell you tales from Scotland's past and give you information about key dates in Scottish history and historical places to visit in Scotland. Not all videos are tales from Scotland's history, some of them are about men from Scotland's past or women from Scotland's past. Basically the people who made Scotland. From April 2020 onward I've tried to give ideas for historic days out in Scotland. Essentially these are days out in Scotland for adults who are interested in historical places to visit in Scotland.
As one of Scotland history tour guides people ask: Help me plan a Scottish holiday, or help me plan a Scottish vacation of your from the US. So from April 2020 I've tried to give a bit of history, but some places of interest in Scotland as well.

Lovely touch to see the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance chopper roll out toward the end. Sure Eric would've been either a supporter or a volunteer. Good show, thank you.

When I was at school (Royal High School, Edinburgh), it was often mentioned about the famous former pupils. Eric Brown was one. Others include Sir Walter Scott, Alexander Graham Bell, Ronnie Corbett and many others.

@@BruceFummeycomedian Fionnah Saunders Harare Zimbabwe, Another brilliant history lesson, Really enjoy your style, a well known famous anesthesiologist, as the Americans would say, ‘ teach a new topic in a short concise fashion. Then go over it again in detail and finally a third time in short. That’s exactly what you do. . Please go into David Livingston’s , John Kirk huge contribution to Countries like Malawi & Zambia, their names still carried in high esteem and celebrated. The great hospitals of Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow produced men & women that made a profound difference to those people who lived there. PS Dr Laws from Aberdeen too, his name lives on in the 6th year medical school in Blantyre Malawi. Thank you for your fascinating work and love to Glendoick and Dalnaglar.

I'm glad to have found this channel, I know I have some Sottish ancestors and I think it will be interesting to learn something about Scotland and the Scotts. You will know of King James I and V and how he encouraged Scottish families to move to Northern Ireland. My Scottish ancestors then moved from Northern Ireland to North America, hence that branch of family refers to themselves as Scotts-Irish. Although there is some Orange-Green anamosities, my sense is that the level of animosity is negotiable compared to that of Northern Ireland. Ah me, the sins of the fathers goes down to the seventh generation, well many more generations depending on the original event. Like many folk here in the States, I have ancestors from all over Northern Europe. Having a Scottish ancestors is just one of a great many different strains of ancestors. Thank you for your efforts, here in the States, Scottish history is told through the smudged window of English, British & Great British views.

This is a fantastic channel. I was lucky enough to meet Eric Winkle Brown when I was around 10 Years old at an aviation society. At the time didn't know his significance but looking back, just to have briefly spoken to him was an honour.

Ah yes, Capt Eric "Winkle" Brown, so called because he was quite small (I'm 5ft 4 and 3/4ins, and I don't think he was much taller than me), who rightly pronounced the DeHavilland DH108 Swallow a "Killer" (he only survived a crash in it due to being, well, small....) and was still driving sports cars - rather quickly - in his early 90's. Yes, a great pilot, a great man too.
