Brillant Brillant …I have been watching all his videos and he never fails to impress with each one.. never a “re-do” of the last talk. Incredible. I’m so appreciative to be able to hear his words. Thank you
Thank you!!! I have thought for so long that our dietitians are not being properly taught! I have no formal education in medicine or nutrition but instinctively I have felt that something was off. For a long time. When the food pyramid came out in the 80's, my brother and I had many a discussion on how ridiculous and even dangerous those guidelines were! I know diabetics who are following that advice and are still very sick. I try to explain this to them but I'm just yelling into galeforce winds! 😫
Outstanding video. Great content and very insightful. Gotta have a convo with the fam now and show em this video and hopefully some things start to click in their heads. Thank you.
You can turn on Captions. “cc” and then go to the wheel icon and translate captions into any language, for you, select “German” and just read along. It won’t be perfect but I’m sure you can contextualize if you really need the information. Good luck!
Processed food and sugar is the devils fungus. I’ve quit both thanks to Dr Martin ( Sudbury Ontario) and Dr Lustig. I won’t touch it but that being said : I STILL get cravings two years after not eating this stuff anymore. That’s how addictive it is. Awful.
Our addiction to processed food are continuously being tempted to draw us back into death spiral of addiction to eating poisons by the evil advertising industry.
#1) we are hard wired to seek and consume sweets.#2) we are not only immersed in an abundance of it, deception and psychological methods are used to get you to buy and consume it. #3 if you are like me, you are surrounded by friends and family who buy, cook, eat, and push all these glucose/fructose and other toxic man-made industrial "foods" sources, continuously.
I have read the book and have my family to read it or watch the different videos in which Dr. Lustig appears. I can’t say enough good things about the book. Excellent, excellent, excellent!
I appreciate the interview and Mr. Boss did a GREAT job. One thing doesn’t make sense to me. We are suppose to chew our food into tiny pieces. As one doctor said, until it’s almost liquid. Well, that doesn’t destroy the fiber, so why should smoothies destroy it? If you put the whole food in there and drink everything, I don’t see how it can be any different than chewing thoroughly. A couple friends of mine have been making smoothies for years. They are 63 and 61. They ARE EXTREMELY healthy people. I’m not saying to only eat fruit in a smoothie but smoothies can’t be bad.
I think you need to consider a few things here: teeth will never pulverize food as much as high velocity blades so you cannot chop up the fibre as much as a blender if you chew it. But, people who go to the trouble to make smoothies probably make better choices in their overall diet and they probably have other healthy habits as well.
We eat/drink smoothies each morning! Very important to chew all juices & smoothies as our saliva has enzymes which begin breaking down nutrients way before hitting our stomachs. My hubby is 65 & I am 76, and very healthy!!
Very interesting the concrete thing like smoothy. I thought so that it's no benefit to cut everything down to the extreme. We are not designed to do so. The common health situation of the people must come up to the top and with it the food they should eat instead of the garbage which is found to 90y percent of all what a supermarket offers them.
Dr. Lustig says that you need prebiotics, which is fiber, for the good bacteria to feed on. My family takes a good probiotic (which is good bacteria) everyday. We have for about 25 years. We feed those good bacteria fiber through our diet. So we do both, put in good bacteria and then feed them. I’m 61 and my husband is 63 and have great health and take no meds. Take care.
Yes - fermented foods are a great help as they are very rich in pro- and prebiotics. Thomas de Lauer posted a good video about the _right kind_ of fibre. Me, I drink a lot of Kefir also Chia Seeds, oatmeal and lentils. If you crave bread get red lentils and learn how to make red lentil flatbreads. You can also make them with chickpeas. Check out youtube channels.
@@suecollins3246 be careful with oatmeal. If you're in America, buy organic only. Even then, glyphosate may be a problem. I miss it, but no longer eat oatmeal.
Here is my favorite smoothie that ish both prebiotic and probiotic: One cup of Organic Kale, 1/2 cup frozen blueberries and 1 cup of nut milk of choice, blended .
sounds like the book is written using medical terms/explanations that the average person would not understand. Is that so? Or is it easy to understand?
Correction: when Dr Lustig used the wheat example, he meant so say that the BRAN and GERM is taken off to make white wheat. The bran is the outer part that contains the fiber. The husk is the inedible shell that is not part of whole wheat foods.
Regaring climate collapse..Not ten years..it's now, too late..we will be luckey to be around in ten according to some scientist... Guy McPherson. Dane Wigington..others...
If you care about the climate, you might try supporting *regenerative agriculture* by buying their products, like grass-fed beef and pasture-raised eggs. They taste better and are better for you, too. :)
yes, i agree, rare intelligent host. for the , i'd said bicycle helmets, seat belts, drunk driving, smoking in public places, condoms in bathrooms, trans fats.
Akkermansia is one of the top good bacteria and prevents metabolic disorders like diabetes so unfortunately him saying it was a bad bacteria makes everything suspect.
