Follow the great tits from building their nest, laying their eggs, hatching of the babies, rearing their youngs up to the flying out of the fledged young great tits. It is a compilation of the most beautiful moments from the first day to the last day in best picture quality and excellent sound. The recordings of this successful brood were made in April and May 2020.
The nest box is self-made and is located in our garden near the bird feeding station. Follow my other live bird cams of the bird feeders, the nesting boxes or watch the hedgehogs eating at night at the ground feeding station:

@@lavanyacreations1949 They are not like humans. If they could they would eat you but they can't or don't. But some of them does. They are just animals. Sure you sould not kill them for fun but if it is necessary you can kill them for food. And don't be so empathic some of them would do the same with us if they had the chance.

This was an amazing nest build with both parents making sure all eight eggs laid made it through to fledging safely. Thanks NatureTec aka Thomas for the nestbox, hamster wool, which was gratefully used, and everyting else in making all this possible for us to watch. Look forward to next years nestings now 😉

Wh isy this nest upside-down? Why not straight?
@NatureTec
@NatureTec 3 года назад
@@lavendelblue4368 The camera position is chosen high on the side because it is always unclear how high the birds build their nest. A straight sideways position could mean that you can no longer see into the nest if the nest is built higher. A straight look from above is not ideal because I think it's nicer to watch the birds' faces instead of just looking at their heads from above. I also avoid changing the camera position after birds have moved in so as not to drive them away. The camera should just have a little more distance to the nest. I'll keep this in mind when building the next nest boxes.
@lavendelblue4368
@lavendelblue4368 3 года назад
@@NatureTec Thank you. I was just curious, but I thought it might be due to camera placing, but i also thought, that maybe predators have more difficult acces to the nest, but as I see it's not a case. :)

I really wanted to watch the whole process from beginning to the end like your video, but I have no idea how you connected cctv in the nest box outside. If you're possible, please make a video of how you made this nest box. I want to follow the instruction and make another nest box later! Thanks a lot. I enjoyed your videos. Have a nice day! :D

Silly question perhaps but when do they know or learn how to make nests? When they hatch, tiny, unable to see etc., they're instantly in their nests...so, they didn't watch it being constructed ;-)
