I already have a phobia of being out of my depth in the sea....but even seeing a small one like that would have put me off going in the sea ever again. *shudders*
When snorkeling with a group in Hawaii, a juvenile hammerhead was spotted. We were throwing beef from the boat a few minutes before. Fun minutes of life😁
As a beach freak, I get to meet these dudes everytime and they attack when you freak out, sharks are actually shy as normal fish but more curious. When you freak out, sharks instead of escaping away they attack because they fear you. All you have to do is relax.
Watching the video it’s extremely obvious this shark is just inquisitive and trying to figure out what this dude and board are. But if I was in this situation, my anxiety would be through the roof.
Good for you man! That dude was a curious baby White.. you gave him chance to learn what a kayak + human is. That's freaking awesome! Treasure that memory my friend.
@Laurian Van de Velde I can see the pelvic fins but can't see claspers. Although when it comes to these guys a hello I'm a shark what are you handshake rarely works out in our favor no matter which gender they are.
@@justsomeguy6474 What makes you think that? I'm not a shark person, but its face doesn't seem pointed and angular enough for a Mako. I think I'd be okay with betting on the White. Pausing at 0:33 made me think if it isn't a white shark, maybe a Salmon Shark? 0:50 and 1:05
@@mikebulson6442 Predators are so scary, aren't they?! Is your first thought when you look at another human fear? For me, it's curiosity- but we're all different.
Certainly nothing too dangerous here, but I think you need to remember that great white sharks often like to investigate things with their mouth when they’re curious - I’m not being funny, the majority of great white shark attacks are investigatory bites and then they aren’t interested and leave when they realise you aren’t a seal. Unfortunately for the victims an investigatory bite is pretty devastating with those teeth…
Such a curious juvenile, so precious! I find the difference between an adult Great White and a Juvenile Great White so funny! Adults are so feared, and then the juveniles seem *so harmless*! (they're not, of course!)
It’s actually pretty cute! But, aren’t the juveniles like this one usually the ones most responsible for attacks on people? I would have been peeing my bathing suit for sure.
Awww extremely cute, just a little baby. Was very curious as to what you were and what the kayak was. I think people always assume anytime one gets close its to attack, but a lot of the time they just want to know what it or you are. The babies have no clue, so they of course curiously come up to check them out.
I love how I came from 2 other videos where 2 different breeds of shark were being super aggressive, and the white shark here is just like "oh hey hooman, whatchya dooooooin?"
These kayak fisherman are f-ing crazy. They need to watch that Nat Geo footage of the great white that tried getting a boat full of researchers into the water by ramming it full speed from underneath.
He definitely seemed more curious than aggressive. Edit: I read the comments afterwards and it's astounding how we all seem to agree on his body language! That's awesome!
100% you have no clue what ur watching. Animals play with their prey all the time, check it out before they kill it. The fact that you think this shark wouldn't kill him is beyond amazing and just proves my point that most people are a result of inbred. Bravo sir, next time this happens to you. Try jump in the water and pet it. Please try it. It's only curious man, don't be scared.
No, just a lot of brainwashed doofuses that believe white sharks are just misunderstood. You have no freaking idea what's on that sharks mind. You cannot possibly tell they're just curious. That is just what you were told to believe.
uhhhh this is false lol. When they said they pick up on vibrations, they mean like shock wave vibrations, from movement in the water, not like "a vibe" lol and who has to remind themself not to have a random thought like that
Huge balls in any ocean waters .. that’s where they live 🤯 .. even rivers and lakes are unsafe with snake and other predators where a kayak is not safe 🤯
All I can think is dude grab that carry strap if the Great gets ahold of that your going under! Lol such an awesome encounter being from Hawaii we mainly have tiger sharks
’til he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then… ah then you hear that terrible high-pitched screamin’. The ocean turns red, and despite all your poundin’ and your hollerin’ those sharks come in and… they rip you to pieces.🤙🏻🦈
@@Superlizardy36 oh right the fucking marine expert coming out with the facts, do you know what a kayak might look like to sharks that are swimming below? That guy is lucky that this shark was younger and had no intention of eating them, these arent the cute puppies that the comment section makes them out to be, these are apex predators, one impulse and your dead, simple as that.
OK, so I have never been so consistently scared watching a video before. I've watched a lot of shark videos myself and love sharks; but this video scares the crap out of me! Is that just me or what?
How do you tell a young great white and mako appart? I feel like they have slightly different "vibes" to their faces, but is there a more certain way of knowing?
