Yeah, I wanted know. Is Ole Anderson related to Frank Welker? Or worse..is Ole Anderson really just Frank Welker in disguise and really, Frank Welker is the voice of everyone you know?
The fact that he was playing slow chemical (The best Kane theme and one of the best themes period) while talking about Glenn Jacobs makes it so much better.
Khabib Nurmagomedov Definitely, they always seem to do a Japanese star for the Hall of Fame and Liger deserves it. Not to mention he was at one NXT Ppv last year
andrew jones I'm not saying it does, just WWE has acknowledged his greatness recently, and American fans do know him, so he'd be a great choice. Also Keiji Mutoh/Great Muta as well.
How long did Jericho get to practice as Super Liger? It feels like on paper it should of worked but not without having a 2nd skin you couldn't get used to without months of getting the feel of the suit?
If you look up Talk Is Jericho on whatever podcast provider you may have, he did a watchalong show in January coinciding with Liger's retirement. You can find the match on youtube as well which makes it easy.
The Super Liger suit looked like it had a lot of extra padding and greeblies to make it look...well...Super. Jericho at this time normally wore tights and boots, not even elbow pads.
Pentagon Jr is my favorite wrestler so far. He is such an amazing luchador. I love his attires, especially one in AAA where he looked like he came out of Mortal Kombat.
Very enjoyable... great job, Brian. Just wanted to say that the clips and pics elevate your videos to another level. I know it's more work, but definitely worth it... I typically won't sit through a review that's just straight commentary as it gets a little numbing after awhile.
Wait, "douche kadu"? Is THAT what they called him in that video of worst finishers? I've been calling people "Douche Canoe" for, like, three MONTHS! WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME!?
Mid match between Sting and Black Scorpion, Bobby Henin kind of gave away the end by saying : "That's Flair, no one bleeds like that but a Flair." He said this when Sting busted open Flair way before the mask came off.
Mr. Zane, that was great how you delivered on the Black Scorpion. You sir did that and I am happy you told me to stay tuned. Love the channel and keep it up...
I always thought the reason wwe had the Aldo Montoya gimmick was due to the fact that Toronto, Ontario, Canada was a common stop for wwe back in the day with a large Portuguese community. I thought it was done because in that time period the attendance was down so that character was done to try and sell more tickets in Toronto.
Haha, the Black Scorpion brings back memories. As a kid I thought that WWF was the only wrestling organization around but my mom tuned into WCW one Saturday and it happened to be at the beginning of the Black Scorpion story. I was immediately hooked.
What about a video with all the gimmicks inspired by Mad Max movies? You got The Road Warriors, Lord Humongous, Mad Maxine, The Master Blasters, The Blaster (AWA), the thunderdome/Thundercage in WCW, Demolition, early Fit Finlay...
Derrick Van-Wyk it was a Captain America rip-off. Just ask Marvel Comics. They threatened to due WWE in '03 for both Cap and Hulk being ripped off by Hogan
@@satan3959 The Patriot was a gimmick invented on the indy's. The wrestler, in question, rose to prominence as the top star in the Global Wrestling Federation (along with future stars such as Buff Bagwell and Sean Waltman).
At least one of those Black Scorpions reminded me of a Shocker minion from Kamen Rider. And now I will forever imagine his voice as a high-pitched KIIIIIIIIIII!
I heard that there were actual plans for Neville to be masked. It wasn’t that he was perceived as “ugly/impish” or anything, but rather being masked would add to the mystique of the character. Not sure how true any of these rumors were as he never wore a mask during his WWE run anyway.
Flair being the Scorpian was the best thing about that gimmick. I mean I doubt many fans would have guessed it was him because he was still a active wrestler at the time and there was no big clues to point towards Flair's direction. Its just that the storyline as a whole was one of the worse ever. Great video. A few of those I'd not even heard of.
Speaking of Mad Max, maybe doing a video on the biggest movie influences on pro wrestling would be fun Mad Max itself could probably fill it's own show, but Scarface, Cape Fear and the Crow also come to mind immediately. You've also got Back to the Future for Timesplitters, Terminator for Ryback's original gimmick and Kenny Omega, Spinal Tap for Jericho. Granted I also realize this is a tricky video rights wise lol Just think it'd be a cool idea
I really like this channel. Ok, what I'm really tying to say is this channel is a really good channel. I enjoy when new videos are posted. You are good at making videos.
Hearing Lakers fan makes me think of that Raw where Vince did Lakers vs Nuggets because Denver scheduled the Pepsi Center for Raw and had to pull out when they made playoffs and Raw was moved to Los Angeles
10:10 Lol damn Brian I was banking on you saying Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget! Voice is like spot on. Question though, I always see that WWF lunchbox behind you and the wrestler on it is obscured with a yellow sticky note. What's the reason? Looks quite like The Ultimate Warrior's pose, so I'm going to say it's him underneath. Copyright claims I guess?
Yellow Dog. Not the Brian Pillman version brought back for deception, the original alter ego of Barry Windham created for.... extra bookings, I guess. Who (Jim Neidhart), Kwang (Savio Vega), & Black Blood (Billy Jack Haynes) also deserve mentioning.
oops!you forgot gallows's very short time as the Director Of Chaos in TNA's Aces & Eights. and you forgot The Dirty Yellow dog played by Ron Bass,Barry Windham and of all people for a couple of one-shots Brian Pillman
I always found it odd that Jericho had such troubles as Super Liger. It was all basically identical to Jushin Liger's outfit, and we know how amazing Jushin Liger was. I often wonder if maybe Jericho just didn't want to do it, so he did a bad job.
Ah no worries! I look forward to seeing it up when it's ready. Thanks for replying. You're one of my absolute favorite RU-vidrs, man. Keep it up! All the best to the family.
Oboy, I'm gonna be roasted for this, but the CONCEPT of the Black Scorpion wasn't bad - a mysterious heel whose head games on opponents was his greatest strength. But, as always, bad execution & antics that went truly over the top doomed it. Ole & Herd further demolished it by "Twin Peaks-ing" it to death. If they could've picked ONE guy to use the gimmick, that would've been solid, but things got SO bad that they literally put some unbooked talent in the mask for house shows & Clash of the Champions specials. I WILL give them credit for having a core of semi-regular Scorpions - all the men you highlighted plus the Angel of Death - but even this was cut off at the knees by sticking them in the shows almost at random & doing David Lynch - like swerves to keep us guessing who it was. Them shooting the gimmick dead as they did was probably the least damaging way Ole & Herd had to getting out from under the botch-job they let go out of control.
How could the last responder take the question seriously? The true answer is that H*gan took responsibility for the act by claiming it was h*m but that was just the H*lkster being a stand up gay as usual. And I genuinely accidentally typed gay instead of guy, so even my subconscious has a great sense of humour.
