Its funny how some people say Subaru is useless. From others perspective he is an unbeatable strategist who always comes in to the right place at the right time, and always wins without fail.
"Look at that boy! He's so weak and fragile, a breath could blow him away, and he's unarmed!" "He's a powerless boy whose defeat I have seen with my own eyes!" "He's weaker than anyone else here! Yet he's shouting louder than anyone that we can still do this. "So how can we sit around, looking at the ground? "If our weakest man hasn't given up, "How is it acceptable for us to kneel in defeat?" "Did you all come this far to wallow in shame?!"
@@magimariJY When Crusch is trying to inspire the army to continue fighting the white whale after they're all scared off thier asses because it divided itself.
Given their history of their first meeting and duel, i remember when Julius had to kill a possesed subaru, he said "I wanted to call you a friend" Then this fight happens and he finally acknowledges him and calls him "My Friend, Natsuki Subaru" This was really some touching friendship stuff. Loved these two's bonding.
Is the current arc in the anime (everything going on with the Sanctuary and the attack on the mansion) considered the 4th arc? I'm an anime only and just wanna know where we are right now lol
this is why i love re zero so much Weak man against overhelming odds, Subaru, man that can't fight(his fight scenes are mostly of pure improvisation and trying to stay alive), man that doesn't surrender after many defeats and more suffering than many of us would never recover from, man that uses his quick thinking to defeat oponents way more powerfull than him, either humans or beasts. It's hard to find story with more satisfying victories
It's not that subaru has something everyone else lacks to be victorious Subaru has the one thing that's most important to succeed and that's motivation. He has his obsession with emilia but probably even more importantly, rem.
"I hate you. But I know you're strong. My suffering is a testament to that. You are the greatest." "Then...with all my soul...I shall live up to that!" "Sharing a collective body with you is repulsive, so lets get this over with." "Yes, lets. With your eyes, I shall cut him down. My friend, Natsuki Subaru!"
How Gigguk fans view this relationship: Subaru: "Say out loud who you think is the biggest d*ckhead in the world. Dont even think, just say it. 1, 2, 3:" Both: *"You"* Subaru: "WHAT?!" Julius: "Did we just become best friends?!" Subaru: *"YUP!"*
"Are you quite done with this farce already? How can you expect enlisting the services of a single Spirit Arts user to change the inevitable?! I shall pass judgement upon you both, tear apart all who remain and resume the Ordeal. That is what will happen! My diligence knows neither slothful resignation nor demise! Nyyaaargh!!! Sloth! Sloth! Sloth! SLOOOTH!!!"
I used to think that most anime protagonists get their heroines so damn easily, even though they didn’t do anything much. This dude on the other hand... he completely deserves every good thing he’s earned, struggled so long and far through all that shit. Darn, if I were in his position I’d go batshit crazy.
@@mellamojeff458 Idk about you, but I can easily catch people in their rolls. There are also some real asshole enemies that lead their attacks, and flatten your ass in the middle of the roll.
Subaru : Well, you and the Common destiny are terrified, let's end it quickly Julius : Oh, let's do it. With your eyes, I'll cut him. My friend … Natsuki Subaru
DarkHorse1995 To be honest it didn't even look like 2v1 in an gaming reference he would be consider support with no active skills presides the passive skill of the witches scent.
The first time this OST was playing in Ep.9 when Subaru was talking Rem into going to search for kids in the forest, while his hands were shaking in fear. And that is what real courage is - to know fear, expect being vulnerable, get hurt, and yet keep going forward.
@Jean-Luc Laurent I can definitely see that. Great Shield vs. War God in Arc 5 as well. EMT/Sufferu/Sword Saint vs. Greed is what first comes to mind though.
@@ChickenLord319 who knows... thankfully, there’s more than enough content for season three in the light novels, so we’ll probably be getting one after season 2. If we’re lucky, maybe they’ll announce it right after the s2 finale!
Hope they play it in season 2 during the Otto, Ram and Subaru VS Garfiel fight (the 3 weakest of the Emilia faction VS a dude who's strong enough to destroy someone's skull bare handed and posess high level healing magic).
"If Ried's might of the sword was like blazing flames, then Julius' swordsmanship was like flowing water. Speaking in terms of basic compatibility, the water should extinguish the flames, but the flames here were mighty, so mighty that they could simply evaporate the opposing water and reduce it to nothing. Perhaps many swordsmen akin to flowing water had been evaporated away by the flames of Ried's swordsmanship. However, at the very least, Julius had no fear of throwing himself in there and getting evaporated as he continued launching destructive and unavoidable attacks at Ried."
@@danielantony1882 I assumed that for the longest time, but Reid is apparently not actually pronounced like Reinhardt. Reinhardt is ラインハルト, or "rainharuto", with an "eye" sound. Reid is レイド, or "reid", pronounced like the English word raid. That's actually really ironic that the sounds spelled as "ei" and "ai" are switched depending on if it's spelled in Japanese romaji or English (although I guess the ei->"eye" pronunciation is actually German). Anyway, despite both being localized to the "ei" spelling for some reason, the "ei" in Reinhardt and Reid are different Japanese sounds. The "Reid" localization is also pretty bad because Reid is a real English name which is pronounced as "reed". A better localization would probably have been "Reyd", which seems to be a real name that is pronounced like the one in Re:ZERO. Neither of them are "Ree" though, you are correct on that.
@@sum11111 Well, I knew about the Raid-sounding pronunciation but I thought the Ei to Eye consistency wouldn't hurt. Reed just sounds asinine to me and I personally think it shouldn't be a thing. Then again, it's just my personal gripe.
He IS bad, regardless of his brainwashed state he did some pretty horrendous stuff although I can't fully blame him, it's all Pandora's fault entirely for his madness
slight correction: production was revealed in 2019, no true date was revealed as a released date yet(wich sucks balls I would like for them to spill the beans on when will it launch already)
@@massimodog0332 thats the expected date by all of us yes however its not officially confirmed yet sadly. We gotta wait for that sweet confirmation by the author on twitter sigh...
@@khriku3169 Frozen bonds is releasing this upcoming season. I imagine we'll get the official release date of season 2 when that OVA releases in theaters.
This track is criminally underrated. I would dare say it could be have been as iconic as You Say Run... I hope Kenichiro remixes or reuses this track in Season 2, I really want to see it again.
Anyone else notice that betlegeises "hands" are reversed? The hands on our perspectives left and right have the thumbs facing towards us, as though they were radiating from a source behind the "lense", but for him his unseen left hands come from the right side, and the unseen right hands come from his left
iirc, that illustration was actually drawn by the author for LN. The pattern is consistent throughout the image, so the detail is done that way on purpose.
I love how Subaru is such a great personification of all my bad tendencies and will still break down. He doesn’t get (much) stronger and is never a threat, but he still will work so hard to do what he needs
The favorite thing about all this. Each one needed the other win in order to win. The sword and the eye. Both vital components that neither possessed separately.
Julius relying on Subaru to not get caught by the unseen hands and die Subaru relying on Julius' swordmanship so that he wont die after Now imagine, what if Subaru couldnt notice a hand in the background? What if Subaru blinked the moment thousands of hands went for Julius? What if the wind made Subaru blind for a couple of seconds? Now what if Julius focused too much on Subaru's view? What if Julius also couldnt notice a single hand going for his back? What if he slipped? When you think about it, they relied both in each other and in luck, because Subaru cant predict the little speck that could hit his vision AND Julius has never seen Sloth before, therefore making him unaware of his tactics (Subaru only told him about the unseen hands).
@@sciocaflad-al9883 like beatrice but they didnt put the scene in the first season its only in the manga there a video about it go watch it or just watch the season 2 they put the scene in season 2
Seeing how rough the relationship was between these two earlier in the series this fight was awesome seeing how they both put each others life’s in the others hands.
That violin... it makes my spine tingle Every. Single. Time. And that build up... the perfect orchestral build up to Reinhart's final strike against Esla, and Julius' Al-Clauseria. Suehiro Kenichiro hit truly Heroic-tier here. Hands down. The only track that can top this one is, of course, Subaru's "Takt of Heroes -Origin-". Period.
@Lion Yeah, but the author already conformed that if Subaru wasn't there, Reinhard would never be able to kill Regulus and Regulus would kill Reinhard once again and take the chance to escape while Reinhard's Phoenix blessing recharges
@@manofgreed7865 So? still it doesnt change the fact, that I cant wait for all 11 arcs to be animated haha. But I get what you want to say, the fact that chapter 79 in arc 6 was released long ago and we still havent got any news for chapter 80 :P ( Sorry for my bad english )
For as long as we all can remember, we have believed in one thing. When we stopped believing in gods and Fairytales, we remained ever faithful to the idea that heroes DO exist. That is why we tell stories good and evil. To show people are just equally capable of being heroes as we are playing the villains. Heroes do much that gods never do; they protect, heal, teach, and inspire inner greatness that hide with in us. That we need heroes must never let them go extinct. As beautiful and amazing our existence is, it is also dangerous and cruel. As long as heroes remain, if they forever stand strong, then evil never truly triumph. The lose. Even in the rarity villains do win, eventually the triumph will be ours.
Yeah but nobody wants good heroes anymore. The tide has turned in favour of villains/evil people doing what classic heroes do. Makes me kinda angry. Why the hell can you relate to Guts who is so different and fucked up compared to a regular human it's not even funny, but Reinhard is an "Unimaginative character without an actual personality and artificial issues to makes us try to like him." "The same boring hero we've seen a billion times" ? I can look up to Reinhard and wish to be like him, but Guts or Kratos? No fucking thanks.
