Also had this on VHS. It’s scary hearing the intro and Al Michaels and how it takes you back. I was 12 when this came out. I’ll be 45 in a couple of months. It’s crazy! :)

Here for the same reason. Received the VHS as a hand me down. Think about it often. Common issues up in my dreams, it's been all around my adult life. So thankful to find it here.
taylor williamson Same here we got this with sports illustrated subscription. Back then the subscriptions use to be so cool and I got a lot of these ESPN videos from it and sports follies.

After a little league game when I was 10 they gave the winning team copies of this on VHS. I watched it a million times as a kid. Thank you for the upload!!

As a public school educator, I am intrigued by your project and believe that students (as well as politicians) should be aware of the parallels seen in current conflicts with Vietnam. Watched this video as a kid until it wouldn't play any longer, finally have another copy from a thrift store, and still look for it whenever I see used VHS tapes. Thanks for posting

I thought if this video once again after so many years, as a kid i used to watch it over and over not only cause i was a sports fan, but also cause of the emptions of those moments, and it was a real treat to watch it again, and this time with my little 4 year old. Long shot, but did any of you have a sports music video compilation vhs, I believe it was narrated by Pat O’ Brien and was produced by CBS. It had boxing highlights to the music of Pat Benatar’s Hit Me With Your Best Shot, SannDiego World Series highlights set to Bonnie Tyler’s Holding Out For. A Hero and Miami/Nebraska national championship game set to Survivor’s I Can’t Hold Back? That was apart of a lot of cherished memories hanging out at my friend’s house in the early 80s. Would love to find out if there is a way to access those anymore

i love the stanford cal one and i have memories to the dodgers and As world series because im a dodgers fan like my dad but that masters where mize hits that putt is insane good ..love this show watched it alot when i was younger and today im watching for memories and i just finished a documentary on disney called phi slamma jamma
I also had this as a kid and always noticed there was no mention of the NBA at all. No mention of the Lakers and Celtics or Kareem breaking the scoring record or even Jordan. Never understood why that was.

This begs the question why wasn't a video like this made for best of the 90s, 2000s, 2010s etc? Michaels could have narrated them all! Or you could get Costas to do one and Nantz to do one etc, or Joe Buck if you wanted to piss a lot of people off.
That was a ABC Sport thing they didn't have the NBA until 2002 after NBC got the NBA in 1990's to 2002. It was CBS and Turner Sports that had the NBA in late 1970's to the early 1980's.
