At this point in the war in Africa Rommel was very poorly equipped. The allies were destroying most of the supplies and equipment sent to Romney before the big battle with the British who suffered no such problem and in fact were receiving more supplies and equipment then ever.
The Panzer mk4 and the M4 Sherman were mechanical equals. The Germans were combat veterans. Lead by good Generals. However the German 88mm could kill any vehicle. And frequently did in ambushes
Except for the part where 1-on-1, the panzer would kill a Sherman. With enough defenders (and ammo), the Germans could and did put a lock on any given area. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on one’s side, there was an endless supply of Shermans, ammo, and Americans… the Germans were out numbered.
I'm sorry you're Wrong. The panther 4. Had a superior gun and armor to the Sherman.. The British put a 17 pounder gun on a Sherman chasse Call the Firefly. That was equal to the Panzer, but we did not have that. We defeated the Germans with overwhelming numbers and air power. Also, the Sherman was really never designed to fight tank on tank battle. It was for infantry support. Check out the tank museum Channel, it will explain all the Differences. i'm not trying to be an a Hole So please don't take that The wrong way . Have a good day.
The bad thing for the American Army. They had generals who were living in the past war, and would never embrace change. They should have retired many of them and get younger ones to lead. Example would be them wanting battle ship and pushing back on aircraft carriers.
The sherwani was a pile of rubbish Under gunned ,its armour was way to thin .....the only thing it could do was run at speed ....away as it was pants compared to the German mark 4 and 5 ,as for the tiger well when sherwani got hit by an 88mm shell it was obliterated ......simple it was rubbish
The Sherman got the job done through overwhelming numbers. I wouldn't call it rubbish. Most early tanks had to be up gunned to be effective. Also, most tanks hit with the a 88mm shell got obliterated.
@@brennanleadbetter9708 Pointing out the part that a nation should remember the forces that liberated their country from a wicked enemy. Nazi Germany was quite rough on the north African republics that they had taken. Turning against the British and American forces is not friendly.
