That cruise ship story - I feel that so damn well... I worked in a small hotel in the bavarian Alps. In my first 5 years there we got bus groups of elderly people (65+ years old) and they were the worst most times... They almost always used most of their time walking around the neighbourhood and with 30 minutes left, they went to the toilet before coming to the restaurant to order their meals. They ordered food where we had the "20 minutes or longer" notice wriiten in the menu but they only had 15 minutes before their bus left (with a 4-5 hour stay) when we told them that there's no time for that meal, they were pissed and said "well, you always have your food prepared, what's taking you so long?"

I knew a woman that her husband stopped having sex with her and he told her it was because she gained weight and he found her no longer attractive and he wanted a divorce. Then he wanted her out of the house. Well a few weeks later after she left her husband. She met another friend of mine who liked her for herself and they fell in love and once her husband found out he got jealous and wanted his wife back. But she told him to go to hell and divorced him. Her and my other friend have been happily married for years now.

Nothing infuriates me more than someone being mean to wait staff. Here's what happens when you are nice to the waitresses. Both of these are from Chicago, where I lived for a short time: 1) At a restaurant in a local mall, kind of a slow afternoon, being chatty we asked our waitress how the Tips were today. She said it was lousy, only got $1.34 in the 6 hours she had been working. Anyone who know how waiting tables works the person doesn't get much per hour money (below minimum wage in 1980's), most of their money comes from Tips. Smallest thing we had was a $20, for an $11 meal, so I was at the corner of the L shaped dining room while my date went to get change. Waitress came back, looked at the table and mouthed "Oh 💩." Then she looked towards the front of the L and saw me. I said, "We are not gone yet." and blushing a bit she went off to the back. We left her a $5 bill for her Tip, mainly because she was an excellent waitress but also because she hadn't gotten many tips all day. 2) Going out on another date we got to the restaurant and were seated, got drinks, and were sitting and talking not paying attention to the time. It was a bustling evening, every table was full, and our waitress was busting her hump to take care of everyone. Somehow it was about 45 minutes before she got to our table, not that we noticed because we were having a wonderful time talking. We finally made our orders, which she apologized for taking so long. We said it was fine, because we really hadn't noticed how much time had passed, but she insisted on us getting a complimentary desert which she had gotten an OK from her manager to do. We left a BIG Tip, but I also sought out and got with her manager. I told him specifically that we appreciated the deserts for her talking so long to get to our table, but also said that we both noticed how busy it was and how we had watched her working hard to take care of everyone (including us, although belated) and we were very happy with the establishment and her service. He thanked us for letting us know how well she was doing and tried to apologize again for her taking so long. We said with as much business they were doing it was totally understandable, and we really hadn't noticed because we were more into talking than eating and that we would be coming back again. Next week we went back to that restaurant, she immediately recognized us and thanked us for the Tip and talking to her manager. Seems the manager had gotten a few complaints from some customers about the waitresses that night not being timely on taking orders, and some customers waiting for food. Being so busy the cooks in the back were scrambling to keep up AND still get out great quality food which, we also had mentioned to the manager that first night. Seems us taking the time to say these things to their manager made the entire restaurant's staff have a great evening with their manager, even though they had complaints from a few customers. As luck would have it, the same manager was on duty that night as well and he personally thanked us for making sure that he knew how well his staff was working when things were extremely busy.
